My Personal Opinion of Killer Frost w/ MU Chart

Its been a long year with this character. She was once deemed the best in the game at the very beginning, then took a couple huge nerfs (which barely made her top 10 if that), then got indirectly buffed in 1.06 (which made her top 5 in a lot of peoples eyes), and she is now in the top 10 discussion by 90% of the community. Before I give my take on her current position, I would first like to give my personal MU chart. I've been seriously thinking hard about every MU in the game and I think a lot of you will agree with it.


NO DOWNPLAYING NOR UPPLAYING IS HERE! This is truly how I feel.


Strong Advantage (7-3): Doomsday

Advantage (6-4): Aquaman, Ares, Joker, Lex, Lobo, Nightwing, Scorpion, Shazam, Sinestro

Slight Advantage (5.5-4.5): Batgirl, Catwoman, Green Arrow, Raven, Zatanna

Even (5-5): Bane, Black Adam, Batman, Deathstroke, Flash, Green Lantern, Harley Quinn, Grundy, Superman, Zod

Slight Disadvantage (4.5-5.5): Wonder Woman, HawkGirl

Disadvantage (4-6): Martian Manhunter, Cyborg.





Well, there you go. I had to be true to myself. I'm no longer that naive player whore swore up and down she was top 5 with one bad MU. Although she is a very good character, she clearly has weaknesses and a lot of the cast can exploit. But overall, I do believe she is a top 10 character that can hang with everyone in the cast.





















And she needs trait cancels, the FTD hitbox on spike, and iaDaggers :)
What made you change your mind that catwoman has a advantage over killer frost?

Praise Jesus! I have always considered you a massive upplayer for our girl (no shade) and I actually agree with this list for the most part.

I'm not sure where I stand on AM...I don't think she has the advantage.

100% agree with Wowo. This match is very difficult.

I remember back in the day I used to say HawkGirl beats KF. You used to say the opposite and or even. Now I'm kind of leaning towards KF wins or is at least even. Either way...this is list is very accurate.

Your MU chart is really not that different than the community one that has been out there for a while. The slight advantage half points kind of mess with things a bit or else really only the Bane MU is different.

Here are the differences:

Community/Khaotik

Bane: 6-4/5-5 - I would probably agree that this is closer to even than Frost advantage, I think we should probably talk about changing it. I love playing this MU until I get knocked down :DOGE

Batgirl: 5-5/5.5-4.5 - If you had to pick a whole number which way would you go? Frost advantage or even? I main both characters and I feel like the MU is pretty even. Parry is really nice for keeping BG off you during OKI, but they both have really good tools to check each other.

Catwoman/Green Arrow/Raven/Zatanna: 6-4/5.5-4.5 - If you had to pick a direction for these which way would you go? I don't have a good enough read on the Zatanna matchup so the 6-4 we have in the community discussion is based on feedback from other members. I think she has slight advantage over the other 3, and just kept with the whole number system and kept them at 6-4.

Hawkgirl/Wonder Woman: 5-5/4.5-5.5: I agree that if anything that these MU's are in HG and WoWo's favor, not Frost's. If you had to pick a direction would you call them even or 4-6's? I think you could probably debate either way.

BG goes even with frost. There is nothing KF has that stops BG from playing her game and vice-versa.

@Qwark28 Joker vs. KF is definitely advantage frost. I do however think it's a very slight advantage. I'd go 5.5-4.5

No that chart is still a joke. Khaotik has too much pride to accept that some matches are an uphill battle, you should assume that a number of the 5-5s there are only 5-5 on a good vortex day and are in general losing matches

I believe frost beats aquaman but i need to play the matchup more and need some advise on what to do in certain situations.
I dont think she beats Aquaman at all. People think she wins because on paper she gets round his trait and shuts down his from the deep but they dont think about his ability to just walk out of d1 frame-traps and stuff all her options with b12 repeatedly

Why and who have you played?
Just yesterday and the day before I ran a long set with Gilbagz. He bodied me, but near the end I started to figure out what to do. Joker can't jump in because KF's anti-air is godlike. You can bait low parry and punish with spike into slide into vortex. Joker can't wakeup so meterless vortex is a viable option. Full screen the game is even as both can check with daggers and gun respectively (although spike is punished by gun on block). KF can slide underneath gun and even if you dash cancel it, you'll get hit because you can't block in time. True, in the corner it's GG's guess right or block Joker earthshaker, but since his jump is limited, he's relegated to playing footsies with b1 while KF can build trait as a massive eff you.

The Doomsday MU is seriously terrible. If you think it's anything better than 3.5-6.5 for Doomsday you've gotta level up scrub.

Parry at least makes Batgirl think on wakeup and she has some good wake-up stuffing moves she can use against her. But yeah I agree it is even. If either get their game going they probably win in all likelihood. Both more or less on equal footing and pretty similar playstyles to be honest.

But she still has db3 and the option to just block on wakeup. Especially since MB f3 is reactable and Frost's love to MB that on wakeup.

So...you think that's the only downside to the MU? Killer Frost practically shuts down his entire play style.

No she limits his play style to a small extent and needs meter to really get anything out of it anyway. Doomsday can still do sweeps, body splashes and throws and mix it up so is essentially still playing the game, how is that a 7-3 match-up

You parry charge on reaction. How is Doomsday meant to get it?
Because Killer Frost is such an excellent keepaway character and Doomsday needs to use venom charge to get in...

Gilbagz doesn't know the matchup like I do and you just beginning to learn the matchup does not mean you know it. This misconception in the community has to stop, I've been playing the matchup since day 1 and I'm still finding new things.

Joker can wake up vs KF. Gunshot is punishable by spike if you duck and spike is punishable on block from halfscreen away. Joker can't check you fullscreen except on a read, daggers outdamage gunshot and even though you can stuff them it only takes one ducked gunshot to get a mb spike going. Gun within slide range is something no Joker should do with matchup experience, let alone dash cancel. You're not supposed to zone KF out or +5 your way in, gunshot is just a reminder that you can't chip Joker.

I can tell he doesn't know the matchup because he let you anti air him consistently it seems. Joker is able to jump in on the likes of aquaman, sinestro and others, KF will not anti air a J3 or J1 and J2 is used almost strictly for crossups.

Joker does not play footsies with B1, B1 flower is Joker's answer to post-slide guessing games. And why would Joker ever parry?

Post-knockdown game is in Joker's favor and in the corner Joker is on a tier of his own, get caught by one thing and say goodbye to your lifebar.
