Shazam is bad, Digit is just really good.

Shazam is a character that takes a lot of time and dedication. With Shazam you actually have to KNOW each matchup it feels.
If Shazam knocks you down and knows your options its a bad thing, once he's established the wakeup command grab and starts waking up, a lot of the safe wake ups like Lightning Cage or Sword Flip can be baited and whiff punished. Learning how to destroy a characters wake up is important to making Shazam's 50/50's

But it's a lot more effort than what I wanna put into a character that isn't lobo

Shazam is mid tier and can compete very well. It's like Scorpion in MK9, always has a chance just because of 50/50.

Few matchups are very difficult IMO. Props to Digit.

Like okay, he has some good mixups, but they are ALL unsafe, lead to low damage, and take a bar of meter.

Sure he's good. But in this game good doesn't come close to cutting it.

Fyi that post is 11 months old.

Back then shazam had like 8% less damage on his combos, less damage on all of his special moves, wakeup teleport wasn't invincible, the 2nd hit of 22 hit high so it was useless, his command grabs were way shorter, b23 didn't launch, etc.

Ugh, this community. One second a character is being called a shitter, the next, some player will place with them and everyone will go off about how said character isn't as bad as previously thought.

So either, A.) This community needs to stop labeling characters as "shitters" and actually be consistent with the belief that all characters are perfectly viable, a belief that's been shoved down our throats everywhere when everyone claimed Injustice wasn't balanced.

Or, B.) Admit that there are, in fact, characters in this game who are not built to do as well, and occasionally bracketology allows for a player of such a character to go far and beyond what people expect. Granted, this doesn't account for the player's skill, their placing is very well earned either way.

Best advice I've heard? "Don't confuse unfamiliarity with viability." End rant.

I'm sorry a lot of bad players thought shazam was a shitter because he wasn't braindead easy Aquaman level to learn

Digit had been working overtime and mastering each MU in this game w said character . It's the reason you're just now starting to see the results for characters like his. God help us all if digit was never born or never played shazam

I strongly think every character is extremely viable

NW, lobos, zatannas, etc will start popping out hard
