My Sadira notes

Hey guys. Just putting this up to get some kind of KI discussion going here on TYM. Not sure how many of you play but to those that do, here are some things I've noticed playing sadira over the past couple months.


-jab and strong are pretty decent pokes actually. The hitbox goes further than her hand and both give her slight frames. Fierce is slightly slower, and slightly negative.

-Roundhouse is her best footsie tool (forward is also pretty damn good too) link into L spin for your hitconfirm if you think it's going to hit.

-Her sweep is unsafe, goes under fireballs, pretty good range and obviously gives her her HKD. to be honest though I just don't use it much unless I'm avoiding fireballs.

-Her low forward is probably your best ranged low. I use it after my jump roundhouses for a jump in, low into hitconfirm (spin).

- Jump roundhouse is everything you'll ever need in a jump normal. It's ridiculous with her jump arc and air mobility and gives massive advantage when blocked. Follow it up with a tic throw, low into hit confirm, more crossup shenanigans, frame trap, whatever you wan't really.

-If you notice your getting AAd alot after lets say (jump, cling, m widows bite, roundhouse (in air and they anti air you) switch up with L widows bite. Which will send her straight down towards your opponent and catches alot off people off guard who are expecting her to do the M version.

-Her wakeups are bad. There are times though where you can see them in the air and that they aren't safe jumping for whatever reason and react with ex recluse.

-Wakeup instinct cancel web xx backdash is probably her best wakeup.

-Speaking of instinct. My usual setup with it now is. Web, Jump roundhouse, roundhouse, (counter breaker, web) jump roundhouse, L M or H manual, (this is their only "safe" chance to break, it's a 3 way guess and if you're sure they'll go for it you can just counter break) Ex recluse ender. Pretty fucked up lol.

-Your anti airs are H recluse and fang. Fangs verticle hitbox is really sexy and works well for blowing up glacius's ridiculous air normals. H recluse is pretty reliable for jump ins actually because the startup on it is upper body invincible, big hitbox too.

-I don't know what I think of Widows Drop (That air command normal where she stomps to the ground) yet. It seems useful, and risky. I'll experiment with it more in the future.

- I like to use low fierce, low jab, and low strong for my manuals because they all look pretty similar and they're quick.

-Thunders EX command grab is dumb. (This doesn't have anything to do with Sadira but i'm writing it down anyway)


Hope this was informative, sorry it's not really organized and there's a ton of stuff I left out but I didn't want to write a novel and get too specific into stuff. Feel free to talk shop with me.

Noob question, but what is roundhouse, strong, jab, etc. in relation to KI's light, medium and strong punches and kicks?

short is LK
forward is MK
Roundhouse is HK

jab is LP
strong is MP
Fierce is HP

Sweep is almost always D HK

Comes from street fighter terminology, which uses the same format of 6 attack buttons. I use it because when you're talking with your friends it's easier to just say low jab instead of "crouching light punch"

Cool. Thanks for the heads up. I remember your Sadira stomped my Orchid, hahaha. I'm thinking of picking Sadira up. I'll wait to see how she fairs against Fulgore. He looks beastly!

That's an unfortunate typo. lol

Yeah Sadira is alot of fun to use, feel free to give her a whirl. Be warned though lol, she brings out alot of salt in Ranked.

As for fulgore yeah he's always been my favorite out of the roster. Planning on maining him when he comes out. Hope he's good =). His design looks interesting so far with the alternate meter.

Have you done a Sadira match up chart yet? Not a number one per say like 6:4, but a strategy one vs. specific characters. I'd be interested to hear your input on what tactics she can do against specific characters. I'm hoping to cause much sodium chloride build up!

I'm assuming you are pressing an attack button after the double jump fake cross-up for frame advantage. Is that correct?

Does anyone know the amount of frames it takes to do the double jump (or an approximate)? I'm wondering what anti-airs might be used to stop this.

I also second Thunder command throw being dumb.

It's impossible to play footsies against a character who had a 5 frame throw farther than all my normals. I'm sad.

i'm assuming you main Orchid?? one thing that orchid has on sadira is that crouching medium kick on a hard knockdown.
it makes sadira whiff all her moves. even shadow reclause.

Yes, I main Orchid right now, but I'm going to give Sadira a try out and Fulgore once he is released. I do try to take advantage of Orchid's crouching MK against Sadira on a hard knockdown. I find my Orchid has trouble dealing with Sadira's cross-ups.

I figure that if I learn Sadira and her cross-up shenanigans, I can better fight her, haha. Plus Sadira is fun to use!

... and Thunder command throw is dumb? her whole instinct-on game is dumb and bordering OP.

I didn't say regular command throw I said ex command throw. And yes it's dumb. Just like that setup in instinct is dumb.

I don't know how your honestly gonna sit there and tell me one is dumb but the other isn't.

And if you aren't and you just wanna bicker well then I difer to your fighting game expertise and you win one free internet.

I get that you were referring to ex command throw, and in my post I meant ex not regular ...
dude, you always bicker no matter what someone posts or comments if that post was not in agreement to yours ...
all I'm saying is your instinct setup that you mentioned is leaps and bounds more fucked up and dumb than the ex command grab you are complaining about.

I get a free 40% if you get hit by a web and guess wrong once. I get instinct twice a match at most.

You get a free unbreakable quarter of a health bar anytime you have a bar for inputting a quarter circle motion and me standing still, you get a HKD afterwards too. Which is huge for thunder especially against any sadira.

I think they are both equally as fucked up.

Both have their strengths, I play jago so screw both of em lol
 
Her HK (roundhouse) is a decent footsies tool, but I believe it gets crushed by any attack with a low hitbox, such as any character's regular HKD sweep.

Yeah probably but because HK reaches so far they better have a really really far reaching low.

Oh yeah, lol, probably part of my Sabrewulf-bias.

His sweep (cr.HP) is 6 frames, very good distance, and pretty-dam safe (-6). So I spam it constantly against characters like Orchid, Jago, and Sadira that have those "round house" kicks.

Sadira's are still getting away with murder the same way Jago often does with F+HK

I'm still letting it happen too. If you have an invincible move with decent start up after blocking a double jump > medium web shot she should NEVER get away with triple jump forward > j.HK. That's a free uppercut of some kind for most characters.
