Too bad I do not live in ATL. Lol, I meant like coordinating, I am super slow at strumming and knowing which string to hold down and which fret, is where, especially if the music requires to move fast, I mis judge which strings to strum and how far the frets are, etc etc. I looked up a guitar class it's 8 weeks long for like 150, but some people tell me just buy a cheap guitar and learn tabs or w/e.
My chops were probably at their best around 2010-2012 but since then I've rarely practiced or assigned tasks/work for myself

Nope, but my friend is willing to sell me his electric for a 100, everyone tells me to go electric since the strings are easier on the fingers, and it can sound like an Acoustic, but I was thinking of going Acoustic as my first guitar experience just because I am more of a solo artist type person in music when it comes to guitar, I do enjoy bands though. My only guitar experience I've had was randomly my friend teaching me how to play on this weird game called Rocksmith, shit was confusing, too many fruity colors, Lol.
Get a metronome, set it to 80 and do these:
Ya I have hope, lol, I just need practice. If I can type without looking on a small keyboard on a PC, I know it's possible to be well coordinated on a guitar.
That's the thing, you just have to keep doing it. It becomes super frustrating when you know what your hands are supposed to do and you can't, but eventually it will fall into place.

I mean, theory is great and all but it definitely isnt necessary to be great. There are some amazing guitarist you know surprisingly little about the theory behind it.
What type of music are you trying to write? A lot of times you can use the different modes of the scale to get a certain feel, this site explains it pretty well:i suck at writing
Learn basic theory about chord progression and rules of melody and non chord tones. Nothing really too in depth. Oh and modes are really important guitar wise, at least as far as I know (I'm a vocalist)i suck at writing
While that's true if I ever really pick it back up that's priority one for me to learn more theory and be able to fully understand what I'm doing and why.
That is a good attitude to have.
My brother is really into Malcolm Gladwell and read his books. I remember talking to him about this stuff. Seems very logical and makes sense.
My favorite tuning is E A D G A D. Makes writing in E minor an absolute dream.
