Let's Talk Commentating at Majors

I don't think it's over sensitivity, people want professionalism. You don't hear sports commentators dropping f bombs or criticising game play or the losing squad.

I would much rather prefer professional commentating. KiT was awesome and the last good pairing before that was Medina and Delriach at EVO 2012.
I don't know what sports you watch but all Chris Collingsworth and Joe Buck do is criticize in American Football. They don't drop f bombs of course but to even be comparing the two is kinda dumb. The commentators at grass roots get paid 0, pros get paid millions.

Can only comment on the top 8 commentary (not a pun) as that's all I've watched so far but it was good. I didn't get some of the in-jokes but then the commentators actually explained them (Jim Jim Jim Jim Jim...) which helped the dirty scene casuals like myself actually feel "included".

I turned off Tekken after 5 minutes after hearing a random kitchen/sandwich/ass reference made about one of the characters in the opening matches. I mean, it was Tekken so I was going to turn off anyway (combo bounce tag combo win), but it was still a low point after the really good top-8 commentary. I have no problem if people want to be "edgy" on the mic but at least be original lol.

Its called coincidence. Also I read all the comments before I post usually post. And once again everything I said went over your head. And im not butthurt. Im just here at work wasting time and dont actually get mad about anything on here, even if my post sounds like im "butthurt".
And stop being so full of yourself to think that I look for your posts so I can blow you up. Stop posting dumb shit without thinking and if you're just gonna respond with more shit talk then dont bother answering me until you can learn how to debate with people.

Recently there has been a slew of threads talking about how the community needs to grow or mature and I think having mature commentary is a step in the right direction. I don't get paid on my days off to walk around a shopping mall but I don't act like an ass as a consequence.

There is a difference between hype and disrespect and it seems anyone can act like a asshole and pass it off as hype.

The OP wasnt really meant to blow people up directly. If this problem never happened before then maybe it would be a personal blow up but people need to stop looking so hard into this. This is the first time someone decided to post about this common FGC issue and it needs to be addressed. Unfortunately people may feel its personal but its really not
Crimsonshadow has a background of "throwing the stone and then hiding behind a tree", a think he has a beef with a GGA guy(s), I remember a thread like this during the VXG tournament, I expose him but he deleted all my posts with stupid excuses, IIRC he tried to blow up 16bit.

i believe that @GGA 16 Bit is thee best commentator the injustice scene has. If he is at a major then he must commentate because of the hype he brings and knowledge of the game.

I thought the commentary was great, for the most part. The only things I didn't like were the constant inside jokes that the overwhelming majority watching wouldn't get. It's very off putting. I was watching the stream with numerous people and I had to explain to them what they were talking about. Especially when it came to the JIM JIM JIM stuff with Flash. That and the loudness was very offputting and annoying. Some jokes seemed very forced.

Other than that, I thought it was great. There was some overlap when speaking (which happens, especially for two people who never worked together) and I think DMS says the name of strings a bit too much. That's just more of a pet peeve than anything.

I agree that there shouldn't be any crap talking of players during a tournament. That's one thing I made sure I didn't do at Evo last year (amongst other things). When I looked at my twitter feed and messages on TYM a lot of people thanked me for giving respect to their scene. I mean, why not? If the players are there I am going to try to give them as much respect as possible.

For example, the commentary for finals at NEC was terrible. I loved that Jack and DMS were very balanced in what was going on in matches. When someone did something smart, they called it out. No matter who played. When PPJ was kicking ass at NEC in finals he wasn't getting much props at all. Instead it focused so much on the other guy (Tyrant) getting attacked with almost no mention of PPJ at all. Like he didn't matter. It was very negative overall. I wasn't too happy about that.

Ok, appears we are not on the same page at all, your analogies are all over the place. Comparing commentary to walking around a mall. Whatever man.

It's okay if that went over your head.
It didn't you just don't know what a good analogy is, actually post something intelligent and then it might go over my head but not simpleton things like you are saying. We just aren't on the same page and if taking a jab at me helps you feel better about losing a debate, then like my pal @trustinme would say "enjoy yourself"

You people confuse hype for shit talk. Yes, most of the time they go together, but NOT when some dude finally raised good money to go to a local and even though he may not be that good he goes home and hears the commentators were talking mad shit about him, not when people talk down on others for their performance ( I'm not talking about just KiT ) or say . This is what CS is saying, think before you commentate because what may be your PERSONAL opinion is broadcast to tens of thousands of viewers, whether it's twitch or YT.

I see some people that shouldn't be talking, lest they show their intelligence... Why the fuck do people talk shit against someone who has done a lot to the community and is merely trying to help? What the FUCK have you done?
