It cannot be ducked if done correctly. Let me preface that by saying you might have to be blocked on the later active frames of the move to force them to stand. I have not tested to see if it can be ducked on the first active frame I have generally fucked around with it and noticed it could not be ducked.

J1 or J2 also cannot be ducked if you hit them low enough.
After Ji1 and 2? Is that so? I've always been under the assumption that doing 1 after a Ji attack could be dangerous.

I enjoy hurting you.

I'm pretty sure it is because I'm pretty positive if you're gonna be low enough to have enough advantage, you're gonna just get AA'd anyway. And then then you 1 without all that advantage, you just get ducked and punished.

I'm sure you CAN get enough advantage from J1 and J2, but not in a practical way.

If you do b1u2 d2 trait and they opponent does not tech roll you can hit a crossup J2 with enough + frames on block that 132 will become an unblockable.

Just to give you an example my friend and I were at a tourney and I was using WW and he used that setup and I thought I could D3 underneath the gunshot so I let him use the setup. Nope did not work I was jailed by the J2.

This is another thing with the Jump ins that I talked about before. You make a choice between not getting raped or not being able to follow-up from your jump attacks.

I'll stick with my dash-ins unless I get a knockdown.

Sorry if this is a repeat question - I have a feeling this was covered elsewhere but I looked around and couldn't find it - what knock down set ups do you guys use mid screen? In the corner it's easy to set up high/low/cross up f3 mix ups on knockdown, but I don't know what to do mid screen. I've been going for max damage and ending in f23 flip, but I have a feeling there's something better to be done.

Unless I get a 132 launch, I almost always go for the F23 x Flip. If I have the life lead, I sit back and QuickFire movement attempts. If I feel lucky or need the damage, 1 dash is guaranteed and you can MB F3 to catch a low block or wake-up.

IMO there's too much damage loss to do his set-ups unless, like I said, you land a 132 launch since you already don't get a lot from it.

If there's a BGB, I can use that to end the combo assuming I already had landed a solid amount, THEN I go for the mix-ups. If the BGB was used in the beginning, I'll just take the max damage.

Honestly, I feel that when you're fighting an opponent who knows all of Deathstroke's tools and gimmicks, Sword Flip is really your best bet. Why risk for the 40% possibly losing half if it doesn't land when you can get your 33% guaranteed with decent enough oki.

Depending on how bad the characters wakeups are (I do this to Aquaman), I sometimes end combos with 2 xx Flip or D1 xx Flip. If you want to end with 2 xx Flip, you need an extra 1 before the 323.

After that, do 1 dash into F3. Jumps over some wakeups, hits at near max range with F3, and can be a 50/50 on block.

Ok so I never really practiced trying to get out of this until just now, but how does DS get out of GL's B13-Rocket? I know other characters can forward dash right before the rocket comes out and full combo punish, but DS seems to get hit every time, and it's the same with back dashing. Sweep doesn't seem to work for me either, and the only thing I really found was doing a sword flip which causes a trade every time, or MBB3 but the timing for that is strict.

Idk, maybe I just suck at getting out of it.

Edit: Never mind. I gotta do the back dash hella late.

Is DS's 323 - F23 xx Sword Flip his toughest combo to perform? I've gotten the timing down really good, was wondering if that's as hard as it gets with the character. Thanks.

b1u2 f3 is a much harder link IMO. its really important to learn that one IMO. here are the thigns you can do off of b1u2 f3.

bu12 f3 323 f23 flip - 32%
  • b1u2 d2 f3 323 f23 flip - 27% (idk why the fuck people do this)
  • b1u2 323 f23 flip - 28%
  • Corner - b1u2 f3 d2 j2 32 flip - dont remember how much it does but you can dash forward and do a neutral jump for a cross up 50/50 with j2 or j1. really good setup for characters with shitty wakeups like lantern, raven or nightwing (this one i tested for sure, j1 will beat out staff spin and flipkick. havent tested it out with flying dick yet).
  • b1u2 super - dont ahve the damage off the top of my head but getting 1 or 2 hits into super is always good for closing out the game. if they dont clash the first hit then its a dick. another good one is j3 32 super which does 49%. stand 3 super also works, dont remember for now much damage though.

i honestly dont know if anyone gives a shit about this character anymore but me but im just going to leave this here

okay so after defend the north i have a lot more faith in this character. my out of practice ass did pretty well but since im a choke artist i didnt make top 8 :/. i feel that DS is a really hard character to play online however because he is really dependent on reactions and reads. i feel that its so much harder to get a read on some jerry seinfeld who is sitting naked in their bedroom on xbl than it is to read an actual player sitting next to you. and of course, online makes a lot of things not reactable to.

also, all you bozos need to use d2 more, that shit is criminally underrated and is pretty cheap honestly. mid launcher that is super fast and advantage on block AND lowers your hitbox, think of it like flash's d2 from a few versions ago. also a really good anti air, which a good portion of the cast severely lacks. it is also a very good tool to just use as a yolo button because there is barely any risk using it.

another thing is people need to grow a pair and not be afraid to wake up with sword flip. sword flip is really the only legit DP in the entire game. think of if a ryu player never woke up with DP, how little respect people have to show him. of course, its really risky but it covers a lot of defensive options, most importantly backdashing or neutral jumping to make spin whiff.

DS isn't really a traditional zoner, hes more of a character that is (in my opinion) does best when he is sitting there doing nothing and waiting for their opponent to hang themselves. even though low guns gives every character good distance on block, you are still chipping them and buying time to make a read on how he will approach you, which at that point, you have a ton of options to try to catch them come in, such as jb3, d2, MB F3 and high guns. as far as his vortex goes, the only one i really see as being mega abusable is the F3 crossup bullshit, which im not going to lie is mad cheap. even if they block that shit, you are at +10 to do whatever the fuck you want, and you dont even have to dash in for a mixup.

just remember kids, don't recklessly shoot guns, use them conservatively. show them that you'll use them when you either see them do something or try to make them do something (like take chip from low guns and chip them on their approach in). shooting mad low guns is pretty good in some matchups but everybody is inevitably going to get in unless you're hawkgirl so think of it more of a buying time sort of thing rather than keeping them out.

That's all pretty legit man. I'm glad you take the time to type everything out, not sure how many people still use DS. But I've still used him since day one and couldn't agree more, while I still wreck shit with him online there's so many instances I feel I'd have a better advantage using him offline if I traveled. And that d2, you're damn right. Haven't been using that until about a couple weeks ago and need to use it more religiously.

Yea d2 is really good I've been using it more and it has helped a lot. (it's + on block? wut)

Does any1 have a Deathstroke MU chart yet btw? I want to know certain match-ups and see how he does vs. the cast.

Does any1 use scrubstroke tactics?

For example if I'm cornered I like to keep doing jump 3 until I cross the opponent over and get out but I realize this can be beaten by anti-airs or whatever.

Another thing for people trying to get in on DS, I've been doing F3 cuz for some reason they like to dash in and crouch and it also beats some jump-ins. I think this can be whiff punished though. Then u can also do fake F3 so like u just hold F3 a bit then back dash. Opponents tend to just walk/dash back once they see the F3 so it gives u time and spacing.

Teabagging, not sure if this works lol but i think it looks like DS is gonna go for low guns so mid to full screen I like to do a couple of teabags then back dash.

created a DS playlist with some stuff I have upped in the past

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBaCN14yQCZZTEusnfRe2JmZ7ejeFIH_j

will be adding more new DS content & stuff from now on, its been a while but I installed IGAU yesterday again and did run two FT10 sets vs the current ranked 1 superman and Martian manhunter player on the leaderboards ( I know rank means sh** ) but
these players were actually pretty solid, ended up 10-9 and 10-2 in my favor, wasnt recording though which is kinda ... but w/e

will be trying to run another set soon vs these players
