Since this thread was bumped(due to Carl and REO going ape on twitter) I thought I would post a quick followup I found funny.

I'd put Curbo over 16bit Dizzy Tyrant & Maxter tbh.

His results definitely were a strong testament to his skills. His game was ahead of everybody he played and the matches he seemed to lose were because he had character loyalty.

One week after this post Dizzy defeated Curbo 2-0 in the Johnny Cage vs. Kabal matchup.

There seems to still be confusion over the tournaments I listed here.

As I have explained on twitter and here. The list of accomplishments was only a brief sample but all were considered. I personally have placed top 8 at 15 major tournaments. All of us in this list have a huge list like that and they were all considered when I made these placements. The list was merely a sample. A greatest hits.

Reo hands down. I love how 16bit puts evo top8 lol... Its second place you dick rider.

I've been feuding with Carl lately. We just had a blowup at Frosty Faustings. I also haven't lost to him in MK in over a year. I still stand by this list.

There was also talk on twitter about DJT vs. CD Jr.

Here's my take. There was a window of time where CD Jr was the best player. That's impressive and he deserves to be a top 5 player. However even during this time period DJT was a top player. He, his brother and Tyrant ran the west coast and he did well nationally at EVO 2011 and MLG Anaheim. If this list was made in late 2012 DJT would be below CD Jr. It's not though. In 2013 CD Jr made bad choices that effected his legacy. He decided to play the "I don't even play this game" game and was playing character roulette with his whack Kung Lao. DJT was placing top 3 at SCR while Jr was getting bodied at Winter Brawl. At EVO 2013 CD Jr did not place and DJT won the world championship. For the last stretch of this game's life CD Jr was a top 16 player and DJT may have been the best. That says a lot and I completely stand by this ranking.

I'm content w my placing

I've never lost to djt or MIT in 2-3 years so I feel special but I say that w 100% respect to djt. That's a huge accomplishment for me because he's our 2013 Evo champ and I like many are proud to call him that

Long live the Bernie

Reo IMO is 1 or 2 no question

This is missing Frausty Faustings 2012 and UFGT 2011, both of which he's won.

EDIT: It's also missing the couple of tourneys he won this year after the game died but I wouldn't blame you for discounting them.

Second EDIT: It's missing UFGT 2013, where he got top 8.

Depends if you value MLG or EVO more really. Funny thing is, I think at this moment in time, PL would prefer MLG wins over an EVO win. Vice Versa with REO. They're both very different competitors.

Personally I think an MLG win > EVO

Anyway, I value EVO more than anything, and I don't really see an argument any other way, but at the end of the day, when you factor in the two MLG's, the consistency, the dominance, and the fact that throughout the game's life, he was more or less the most feared player, I rank REO as number 1 with PL as a close second.

I'm trying to just count larger tournaments or at least ones people traveled for. Like FF 2012 was literally GGA+PL

edit: i'll count ufgt though. missed that

All right. But still, who really played MK at Civil War in 2013 and ECT 2013? Wasn't that just a bunch of east coast players who still played the game? I think both coincided with the release of Injustice so the interest in playing MK was at an all time low.

man me and Denzell always had some close ass fights with you lol, so much hype. I hope in mk10 we can meet again for more epic sets.

One thing I have to say is, some got to go to more tournaments than others (which isn't their fault because not everyone is going to be able to go to as many tournaments as someone else), but man I wish the West Coast had more tournaments. Well at least we got SCR and EVO, I can live with those two and travel to some others. Also just a claim to fame, I haven't dropped a set to the 2 time evo champ PL :p.
