My Matchup Chart For GL

I think Aqua loses to GL. I also think Lantern beats Batman. I cannot for the life of me beat a Doomsday player but I'll chalk that up to inexperience or just the fact that I suck.

Superman is probably more even now than a losing matchup.
GL doesnt beat Batman, pre patch it was 6-4 Batman. its either even or still in Batmans favor

Not entirely. Air rockets can get blown up by venomed charges. Bane's dash is also extremely fast, so unless GL burns the oa rocket, Bane can duck and advance. On top of this, without MBing minigun, as well as having it traited up, Bane's dash allows him to maneuver through this, too. So getting in for Bane isn't as hard as people make it out to be.

Once he's in, he really walks over GL, since GL's wakeup D really gets stripped away by Bane's venom.

I've played Nubcakes a LOT and played Reno Racks a decent amount when he was here, and I've come to that conclusion.

What does Batman even have in that matchup? If your defense is good a Batman should never open you up. GL wins the zoning and footsies battles pretty heavily.

To occupy space while moving back at the same time. Done low enough, it can also be used to stop dashes.

Exactly. Not to mention batman likes to jump around, and GL has the best Anti-Airs in the game.

I don't see any reason why Batman would win the matchup, prepatch or otherwise.
 
Aquaman vs GL is not 5-5, its 6-4 GL.

In fact, the only proof that most point to on the mu being even is my Aquaman vs GL, and a lot of that is ft2 rather then a long set because its a tournament. That has more to do with the player then the mu. 6-4 gl...
 
Wholeheartedly believe that Bane vs GL is 5-5. Basically once he's in a certain range it comes to a guess on GL's part. The MU plays so oddly, basically extreme advantage gl from range, and extreme bane advantage up close.

definitely possible, idk the MU anymore since I haven't played against Bane since the patch dropped, but Bane really can't do much against Minigun from my experience.

Batman doesnt have to play the footsie game with GL at all since he has bats and gets in free, close range j2 beats lift, GL does more damage zoning but if batman has the lifelead his bats and mb batarangs he can turtle. i really see no reason this would be in GLs favor he gets in free and once he's in his pressure is far better than GL's and you just have to deal with it or push block. i really dont understand why people think footsies determines matchups in this game GL outfootsies almost everyone he loses to lol

I agree with the Doomsday MU. They can both give each other equal amounts of trouble. The only thing that really gives me any trouble is if I activate trait and screw up and let the GL hit me with his stupid minigun. I might as well just kiss it goodbye.

However, it can be used to my advantage if used properly. If you activate trait from mid to fullscreen and jump cancel his dash with the right timing, you will jump over the minigun entirely and have a full combo punish.

I usually bait this out of GL players 'cause it's generally what they go for right away once Doomsday traits up.

if you dont mind id like an explanation of why this MU is in GL's favor i really dont see it, because he has air rockets? lol, GL has to work just as hard as Aquaman

It's a game of patience. I'm not denying that it's hard to get in. But thing is Bane CAN get in, if not it'd be an 8-2 lol. Basically once Banes in GL's horrible mobility and wakeup game change the matchup in Banes favor.

Batman Trait doesn't get him in for free. If he does it from a far range, he won't make it to you in time to take advantage of the blockstun, if he does it within a range that he can, you can catch him out of stuff. Even if he does get pressure on you, you can just block everything, Batman has no real mixups.

Close range j2 loses to GL d2 for free, Batman can't jump at ALL in this matchup.

Thats how I feel about the GL/DDay matchup. Except take patience out and put in derp.

Why don't you break it down like zaf did for Ermac for the characters in Injustice? Give a loose description of where the characters stand at different ranges on the screen and come up with your numbers. Full screen/ mid screen/ up close etc.?

That's just my opinion on it. I think GL's ability to make him blow trait on blocked trident rush is huge. Also, the new trait LM oki game fucks with using trait to nullify b13.

thanks for posting a video but that just makes it look really even, the zoning even looks even but its easier for batman to avoid GLs zoning than it is for GL to avoid his
if he uses bats from range where he gets in free you just have to block, he has no real mixups but GL has no way to deal with pressure, also i didnt know d2 beat his j2 i need to check that out, that would help in the MU alot but i literally never use d2 because of the ridiculous scaling
