Dave, thank you for creating this thread. It reminds me why I stay out of the Aquaman discussion.

Here he goes again with the zoning is bad BS , even tough a zoner won the last tournament by beating an anti-zoner in the grand finals , but not to get off topic Aquaman is powerful no doubt but i feel he is the character that has to work the most out of all the top tiers in order to be dominating .While his trait is amazing in most MUs there are ways around it for a large portion of the cast , his offense works in an identical way , great a lot of the time but you can get your back blown out if you are getting reckless.

What about zod? I play him and I can't do anything up close except d12 close lasers mb. Trait rush down is risky because of mb back 3 and big damage zod combos are more difficult too.

You don't understand the character. I say this with respect, dont take it any other way.

Also, its not that Aquaman wont beat Sinestro w/o extensive knowledge of the mu. Aquaman wont beat him at high level unless the Aquaman player has extensive knowledge of Aquaman. The fact that there is more misinformation than correct information is what holds Aquaman players back.

After I do what is required at a major again (hopefuly this weekend) I can finally talk about the character and clear all the misinformation up.

Well actually this isn't true
ZOD blows up push blockers
ZOD has combos that are Aquaman specific combo that leads to 40%_46% and can't be traited out of
ZOD punishes am half screen pretty well
ZOD has specific FTs against him
ZOD blows up every Wakeup two ways

This is a 5-5 but requires much more iq for the ZOD player than the am

This video isn't a knock on PPJ, he's f ing awesome but MU sucks

Against Aquaman do these w trait

ZC 4 make safe 11d2 4 2413d4 whiff f2 ji3 throw or ji1 hits in front for a mix up or ji2 hits behind for an ambiguous cross up reset or just do ji3 standing 3 MB laser reg laser

This combo can be done w f213 and 123 starter too
There are literally 7 ways to do this and mix up

Also when u do your 2413d4 cancel learn the reset distance

Sometimes instead of whiff f2 u must do standing whiff 1 depending in when grab hit

Thanks he's hard. But in your honest opinion who's the most complicated top tier character. And do you think is the most braindead good character. The good characters in this game are god tier until you learn how to fight them. I wonder if people would have adjusted to pre-patch scorpion.

Dude zoning is completely irrelevant. I made top 3 with an anti zoner. Raven couldn't possibly be a zoner because soul crush is -19 on block. Way to negative to be a zoning tool. Isn't that correct testyourpatience?

No, I use Aquaman as well. I'm seeing Aquaman as 0 bad matchups, 9-10 even matchups, than like 20 advantage matchups

How could a character like that not be top 5

Edit: Honestly there are probably less even matchups and more advantage matchups than that lol

The only characters I can think of off the top of my head that go 5-5 with Aquaman are Zod, MMH, Flash, gl, Killer Frost....... and honestly that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Than he goes advantage vs the whole rest of the cast lol. People say characters like Nightwing and Hawkgirl go 5-5 with him too but I really don't think so

Well I do know if we fought in tournament and you chose Batman, I would be terrified. If you chose Aquaman, I would feel way better.

lol of course I am. Why the fuck not lol? Peoples mentality: "Hes eventually gonna go low, so let me just block low until he does" Me: "Sure ill go low once your left at 2%."
And I think Reo made a podcast and explained everything on why the MU is 6-4 MMH.

ZOD is scarlet IMO from mk9
Requires most thinking and execution in his 5-5 and tougher MUs

Most braindead is Aquaman, he's so brain dead and boring that despite being an awesome character w every tool necessary and in the beginning exciting he was even included in the game no one chooses to use him because no one has fun w him

That's another comparison to Kenshi but IMO Kenshi was fun so to each his own
