hmm. When you extracted the sound was it already in .mp3 format? There is a chance that it could be a .wav, so the injector is looking for a .mp3 and can not find it

Try just changing the extension of the source file to .wav then inject it.

Well all sounds was mp3's.. i tried change that sound to .wav but same problem, anyway i can change string to some other sound that is in package???, but i cannot inject embedded_00092F97E.fsb to CHAR_Zod_W.xxx and thats bigger problem :(

What's the exact issue you're having with injecting the .fsb ?

EDIT : Go ahead and send me the Char package, Source files {.fsb & .mp3} And the new .fsb & .mp3 and I'll try and get it to wurk 4 ya.

EDITED: I forget change that vo_ZO_supermove_yell.wav back to .mp3 in ORIGINAL directory that i've sended to you..

Thx, im stuck with this sounds, i replaced 93 sounds for now (13 in SND_SPEECH_WG_eng.xxx) after that i just need change skin, ui, and maybe pimp that FX for his heat vision.. cause now its invisible.. do u think that disabling expression will help to be vision normal again or it has something to do with skeletal bones?! :)

Not sure about the heat vision. If I have some free time l8r I'll look into it.

As far as the sounds go. The Supermove yell that you extracted from the .fsb is indeed a wav file. PCM format 1 channel

as I understand from rizzn's post on mksecrets the extractor you have can not extract wavs from fsb5 format correctly. I was able to verify that the file itself is corrupted somehow. It was probably 2 channels in the Char package and some how the extractor dropped one during extraction. So the bytes can not be located in the Char package to swap. I may be able to find it manually but I would have to see if they are stored in the fsb in the same order they're listed in the text portion and compare bytes with the file that's before it to isolate the wav and do a whole bunch of other crap i can't get to right now.

I did manually inject your new fsb into the wraith tho, so all the sounds you changed work.

btw you did an excellent job with the sounds. When I 1st tested the Character I couldn't tell you changed anything so I thought "Maybe I fucked up my injection ?" then I played as zod And i could hear the difference. The wraith , even though the sounds are pretty much the same, sounds demonic for every move except the weapons {+1 for that} So it sounds natural {Like you think he should sound} :)

Can you post the tools your using for extracting the sounds ? The link on mksecrets is broken so I can't grab the tools & I'll need them for some of my current mods.

Thx much, yeah u can post that altered wraith g. costume for your mod, im gonna change some sounds for victory etc. Im using http://aezay.site11.com/aezay/fsbextractor/ for extraction. Im goin off right know. Anyway thx i always stuck somewhere :)

Also I figured out why the injector didn't work when you tried to swap the fsb files. In the original one you sent me there is a 20-Byte string missing. This might also be the cause of the super move vo not extracting properly.

I've added the missing string for you, to both the Original & the new fsb. I would try and extract the original fsb again and then try and swap the super move vo. In case the missing bytes were the cause of the corruption {It could be a header for the wav file and cause it was missing the extractor just created one.}

I have included 2 folders with 2 files each :

Folder 01 : Original & New fsb PATCHED Files - This folder contains the Original .fsb and Edited .fsb files you sent patched with the missing bytes. Try and extract the Original again and see if you can swap the Super move VO in the Edited one.


Folder 02 : FSB Files that need to be swapped in Char Package - Incase the above does not work just swap these in the Zod file I sent you earlier. This will patch it with the missing 20-Byte string :)

Just a heads up for those of us in this thread who do modeling work. Bitmap 2 Material is up on the steam sale for 50% off including upgrades to commercial licenses for the product.


Essentially take any image and it will generate ALL your maps for you instantly and let you adjust them using sliders directly from within your 3d editing software to adjust things like tiling, grunge filters, spec, bump AO, and other stuff. Comes in helpful if you paint a texture or create something for a model and need a really good dpeth and spec map and other stuff for it quick. Naughty Dog has been using their stuff for awhile and its a damned steal at $25 for the software and $75 if you want the software with a commercial license. Saves hours worth of work. Can be used inside Max, and Maya as well as Modo and a few others. Shit is gooooooood. Check out how awesomely it tiles and wraps things on these straight pillars. It'll even generate all your node trees for you in Maya and such if you use it.

Im thinking of also dipping into their other substance editor tools that are more expensive after grabbing this since they let me edit things like textures and small details without having to entirely reauthor a damned texture to add something as small as more scuffs and scars.

I'll try these out, I use crazy bump and PS for my spec and norm files maybe this will be a good substitute.

Yeah that's it :) And when you clone from a Costume 01 to an Alt for my Mod you only need to use the 1st Box {Fix Hash}

I'm glad the Patch worked :)
