How in the world do I get my girlfriend into the FGC?

I appreciate all the feedback and it's been interesting to hear the various ideas and advice. To clarify, it's not that I'm trying to force her to do something she's not interested in. I'm completely ok with her never watching a stream, going to an event, or any of that. We have plenty in common and we've been together 3+ years (although we're not married) so we actually enjoy spending time doing things the other are interested in. I've turned her onto some "geek stuff" in the past especially comic book movies now that they're mainstream. So I think the best route is to try and expose her to some basic fundamentals of Injustice so she can at least understand some of the game. She watched me play through some of the story mode before she lost interest once the plot started to drag.

Anyhow thanks for all of the advice.

As a man who hasn't dated a woman in almost a year and has turned away most affection since then, I feel super qualified to answer your question. I can give you two ideas:

1. Everytime you win, start popping off like you swept EVO. I mean like teabagging opponents in real life, throwing your chair into the crowd, that sort of thing. Women love a strong man, and nothing shows strength like physically harming spectators after each and every minor win. It will also show off your virility so that says "Hey, our sex life is better because of this game"

B. Hide sandwich making stuff throughout the event. If she gets bored waiting for you to dominate your next opponent (see above) she's not gonna want to be there. So hide some sandwich stuff around the event, ya know, bread, ham, mustard, whatever you like. This is a problem because FGC members are notorious sandwich whores and will steal any man's hidden stock. So have a merchant guarding the stuff. This adds in a shopping component, so she'll love that even more. Plus, you get a sandwich!

D7. The nuclear option. Anonymously kidnap her parents with a letter saying they will die unless she goes to your next tourney. This almost never fails, but don't leave fingerprints. I've gotten into some awkward situations because of that

I might have forgotten a thing or two about women, but this guidebook is foolproof. Use it well my friends!

Lmao, don't start off with explaining fundamentals and boring shit. Just get her to play the game with a character she finds interesting and teach her basic things like what a special move is and how to do it

People play video games to have fun, you can turn it into class time later.

Its hard to get a girl into fighting games, or even video games in general.
I have always dated girls that have been into video games/comic /anime/etc. Even if they didn't necessarily play fighting games, they usually came to appreciate them more after they have been exposed to them overtime and a few actually try to "learn" how to play. Basically, find a girl that already has self-interest in video games.

You get your girl into FGC the same way she gets you into modern dancing, shoes and romantic musicals.

You can't force someone to like something. They're either interested in something or they're not. And if you do somehow manage to get your GF interested in fighting games, then it's very possible that she is a trap.

Yeah good point, I'll hold off on my power point lecture and pop quiz. I supose I meant just playing the game for fun with her so she'll have first-hand experience in "what does what". Hell, maybe I'll show her that Tyrant vs. Theo video from NEC 14. Also Goldfish, she's into fashion (even thought about majoring in it in undergrad at some point) but I don't get the impression that she'd be into cosplay. Shoes...yes, tiara's...meh.
