Can we please give this shit up already? Online is just as good of a learning tool as anything else. Some of the best players also came from online as well like Death, xSmokeX, Curbo, playpal; I think even Forever King got his start online as well. Not to mention guys like Pig, Brady, REO, etc do use online to get MU experience. Sure there's scrubs online but any experience vs other players is good experience.who will you learn matchup with if there is no one to play against? Online? oh please!!
For a large portion of folks online is all they have. Can we please give this shit up already? Online is just as good of a learning tool as anything else. I know you guys have a good online experience, but this is not the case in every corner of the world, there is still countries that trying to play a fighter online is a waste of time. Can we please give this shit up already? Here is the biggest issue the community has...just by looking at how people respond to Tom everyone takes everyone so personal.don't you get it?
MK9 doesnt have a top 15, it has a bottom 20....
all the system issues I just listed and a game that a bottom 20? Come on man
You still a lame my GHere is the biggest issue the community has...just by looking at how people respond to Tom everyone takes everyone so personal.
Example: "Hey man I really liked you but because I don't share your opinion you are now losing cool points with me for your opinion/facts about the video game we play (honestly they are facts cause numbers and statistics don't lie) I don't like you anymore"
Like seriously dude?
People will fall out over a damn match up chart. " NO ITS 7-3 NO ITS 6-4!" come on son.
Too many people rage on other people. And most of your are grown ass men catching feelings with each other.
Yea I'm gonna say this game sucks, im gonna say that game sucks. I didn't tell you your dad takes it up the ass from your mom using a damn butt plug. Get a hold of yourself.
I know. I'd be one of them. For a large portion of folks online is all they have.
I think you guys missed the point. I wasn't trashing online, I was defending it. There's still this attitude that online players just automatically suck because they're online players. That's what I was saying had to stop.I know you guys have a good online experience, but this is not the case in every corner of the world, there is still countries that trying to play a fighter online is a waste of time.
That's exacly what A F0xy Grampa means. "There is no point in playing a NRS game seriously if you aren't playin in U.S. because outside of the U.S its like a desert out there, even online, if a game scene dies here is all screwed up.
You know what, i give up... i don't have nothing to prove anyway...
Not the best time of the year (for any touneys, basically) due to the holidays coming up.And no locals -- what's up with that?
The thing is that is the natural mentality of most communities as a whole especially this one. Look at when KI was coming out, before the game even released we started to see folks yelling KI will be better than IGAU and if anyone decided to say no screw KI you automatically dubbed either a Sony Pony or a fanboy. As a community we all need to suppor each other as a whole regardless of the games we play. That is the problem and part of the reason no one takes the FGC seriously. We spend too much time being negative about each other's gaming preference. I know I am not inncoent of derailing a topic or two, but its come too often when someone validly makes a thread discussing a game and then poeple have to pour in toe claim the game to be trash and what not.You guys do know that other communities play several of their games right? How? By not trying to diminish the validity of one or the other. For me.. I am hanging up my Lin Kuei attire.. Doesn't mena I wouldn't still push the game, commentate the game, and help anyone looking to pick it up.
However, this community put players such as myself in a position where I have to defend IGAU. Anytime you pull some dumb reason why "IGAU didn't live up to MK9" as a fact and not how you feel as your opinion and list game problems, MK9's issues come up as well in defense of IGAU. What happens? BOTH games look bad, no one goes back to MK and less people pick up IGAU...
PL and I started an offline tourney scene for a game that WASN'T EVEN OUT IN AMERICA!!!! If ppl want to play something, then the'll play it. If its your opinion that MK9 was better for you, then play it. I'll support it 100%. But don't spout facts as to why no one should be playing IGAU, because if people aren't playing whats new, whats old will surely die. MK9 has to work hand in had with IGAU, not up against it.
I didn't ask you to. My point is it's just a little inconsistent. The content of the thread (not the OP, but the subsequent replies) is going to end up being the same as all the other threads that are getting closed. It's just that the forums have been unbearable this past week, with the same shit in every thread, and I'm sure you guys as mods are just as irritated as the rest of us.coolwhip I'm not going to stop making positive threads just because some people might end up arguing in them. It's still worth it for those who actually get the point and make useful contributions.
I'm excited for NEC and curious to see where our community will go here. Anything else is water off a duck's back at this point.
We've been that road before. This was an assumption, not a realization, one that may or may not have come true (in other words, the top 8's were not 90% Scorpion jumping around because everyone freaked the hell out way before it even happened). To suggest that a game would DIE because of one move or one character is quite extreme. That's not to say that F23 shouldn't have been nerfed (of course it should have), or that Scorpion was fine (he wasn't), but you're focusing on the examples here, rather than the bigger picture. People in this community don't have any patience, and don't wait for anything. They automatically assume the worst (a game's death) and freak out.Realistically though, Floe would not have been the only person to quit the game if Scorpion had remained unpatched. The thing was, you had people on both sides saying his current state was bad for the game: some people who were actually playing him (and winning) as well as people that weren't. It was a community-wide realization that seeing 90% jump 1/3 and teleport from a character in Top 8 at a major combined with f23 would make a laughingstock of the game.
It seems like people always want to make issues more linear than they actually are.
That's fine, but people had seen the problems imbalance caused once and didn't want to stake the future of the community on a coin flip of "maybe it will/maybe it won't" happen again. The truth is that the SoCal scene was in serious trouble, the midwest scene was in trouble, and other scenes were flagging as well until the changes were made. That's strictly on a factual basis; people just weren't showing up because they were tired of having to fight f23f23f23f23, lightningDivekickLowLightningFrametrap, and j2j2j2traitj2traitj2.We've been that road before.
