Kombat Tomb Podcast - Ep. 32 An Evening With Glass Sword

Smarrgasm

What's a Smarrgasm?
I found myself agreeing with 16 bit a ton this episode.

Chickfila is definitely god tier when it comes to fast food. Im gonna get fat as shit now that i work there. Mario party is also amazing but stand alone its not really the best when it comes to the N64.

My personal 3
1-Star Fox 64 (Hands down my favorite game as a kid)
2-Banjo Kazooie (A bear and a bird as a team, too good)
3-Super Smash 64 (ridiculously good and fun game)

Honorable mentions-Mario Party, Yoshi's Story, Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart.

everytime GS laughs i find myself in cringe mode, is that weird?

hearing K7 telling his childhood stories is my new fav bit
slips is like glenn quagmire btw

<3 Glass Sword. I was so surprised in that smoke mirror we played a while back. I want to see Glass Sword vs YTW before I die

My favorite moment was 1:35:31 with that really exasperated sigh.

Also that demonic muttering at 1:43:20.

Also the way he says "swagger" is like the whitest thing I've ever heard.

I love when the KTP gets super sidetracked. Those moments of bazaar scenarios and random stories are awesome. But i agree that under 3 hour podcasts aren't as good

Thats surprising considering how emo everyone was on that episode. Especially me :(
That's kinda why I like that episode so much tbh, not that everyone was emo, just that at the time MK9 was in such a great place, the 5v5 was hype as hell, the tournament was amazing and it felt like MK9 was unstoppable. That episode also has the legendary Swift Tom Hanks call out from 16 Bit, which still kills me to this day lol

Seriously, am I the only one who thought this was uncomfortable to watch?

The hosts didn't treat Glass Sword like they treat other guests. They didn't seem interested in anything he said about the game and most of their questions outside the game seemed like attempts to bait him into saying something awkward or stupid to poke fun at. Almost all of the 'funny' parts were 16 Bit jumping on something awkward he said. How much of the podcast was spent with giggling going on while Glass Sword struggled to articulate himself and answer the question?
2 hours of making fun of the socially awkward guy doesn't make a good podcast.

I'm sure the response I'm going to get is that he knew it was well meaning and thinks it's funny too, but I'm not sure about that. Even if we presume Austin could/would speak up if he felt like he were being made fun of or pushed into something that's embarrassing, did you hear the part about why he doesn't sit down to pee anymore? Not because he realized it was the wrong to do it or the community encouraged to break a habit he wanted to get rid of or anything positive like that(because as funny as it is to joke about there's not any real reason he shouldn't sit down to pee if that's what he's comfortable with), it was because the community made him so self conscious about it that he had to stop. The community made him so self conscious he had to change the way he goes to the bathroom.

I'm amazed that no one else has said anything or felt like something was off

I agree to some extent. Its like they knew the wierd or awkward responses were coming so they asked questions that specifically baited them. It reminded me of in high school when people would invite socially awkward kids to a party just to watch them do and say awkward things (for their own entertainment)

Still enjoyed the episode though

For n64 imo top 3 are:

Ocarina of time
Mario 64
Smash brothers

Also loved sub zero mythologies (yes it sucks but I loved it), rogue squadron, shadows of the empire

Pig Of The Hut

Day 0 Phenomenal Dr. Fate and Darkseid player
