Once a Green Lantern Always A Green Lantern -- Green Lantern General Discussion Thread

Usually if I see them tech roll I will b1 them, but then again I don't see a lot of people tech rolling in this game.
Just because YOU don't see people tech rolling doesn't mean that down the road as the game evolves you won't start seeing. The point is to evolve the game and not just do what works right now.

That being said...I tried the combo you posted and it's actually interesting because I set the AI dummy to do a tech roll and wake-up attack. And if they tech roll and do a wake-up attack, for one you'll end up on the same side of them either way which was my immediate concern about the 123 TS set-up. But the thread that I posted earlier today about the anti wake-up tech actually is A LOT easier to do with the 123 TS set-up. With not only standing 2 but B1 as well. So that's really interesting and something I'm going to look into further.

However, the negatives of this; a) the combo you posted is 31% versus the normal BnB into TS set-up which is 40% and b) they HAVE to do a tech roll otherwise it messes up the timing of the follow ups because of how much longer they're on the ground than normal.

So, like I said, I'm going to play around with this because it does seem interesting and could give Lantern yet another oki option. So props for bringing that up. That's the epitome of what should be done in these forums as far as bouncing ideas off each other.

If you do b13,trait,LM s2, ORMB, 123, turbine, typically you can f3 them mid screen.
I HAVE fiddled with that setup before. It is nice, but of course the risk of rolling is there. And I don't like that many variables in the setups I add into my game. Typically someone who wants to mash wake up is committed to it like midway through the combo. If they're mashing wake up they'll end up rolling too, and yeah.

I forgot about using 123 TS as an ender though. Might end up sung it against guys I know don't like pressing buttons

hey so the only thing you can cancel b13 trait into wherre the opponent cant interrupt is lift?
yes, everything else you can d1 out of or reversal attack like aquamans scoop. b13 4 LM is good if you expect them to interupt it. but if they just block the lift you'll get blown up lol so be careful

also btw who currently is the best gl? and where can i see some semi recent footage of him
idk about the BEST. DJT placing 2nd at Evo probaby holds that title for now. but theres alot of really good GL players in these forums. heres some footage the other day of Orochi who Mr Aquaman swears is the best GL lol. its a really long set. also theres awesome music playing through the whole set so its even better! lol

i think he starts off losing but by the end of the set he has a good lead over aquaman. hope it helps!

I'm trying to see if I can interrupt b1, and its other strings b1, 2 and b1, 3 because people have said they're all interruptable. I get b1, 2, it's right before he turns and places his foot down but b1, 3 seems to have no space between it and you can't really trade with regular b1 because of its disjointed hitbox.

Please help.

b12 is b13 isn't but it's backdashable, I know joker can parry b13 (maybe batman too) and cat woman can use evade and her trait to punish b13, it depends on your character, a lot of the cast can backdash b13 and punish it.

Can you just cancel b13 into lift or machinegun if you sense they're gonna try to bashdash it?

Yea but if you guess wrong with lift and they stay blocking you eat a huge punish. B1 minigun is the best option if you think they're going to try and punish.

As far as parrying, Joker and Batman can parry B12 and B13

Hold on, i'm trying to backdash b13 on block right now and i'm getting jailed blocking. Did Orochi mean backdashing after the b1 or before the b1?

Character is Shazam.

Sorry I don't know specifically about Shazam but I'd assume he can. Batman can and he can full combo punish between B13 after blocking B1. Shazam has a decent backdash so I'd say he can. I can test it out when I get home and let you know for sure if no one else comes with the answer quicker.

backdash after b1, gl will do the 3 leaving him punishable.
I'm trying on practice mode right now but I can't get it, I think Shazam has too much start up on his backdash, I either block 3 or eat 3. Do I have to input backdash as soon as b1 touches my feet or something?

EDIT: OH I JUST GOT. It's right before he lifts up his hands for 3! It's really tight but I can do it.

Any character with a parry can parry B13 after B1. It can be backdashed but it's a little tight.

If CW evades B13 after B1, his Lift (or anything else) won't come out. You have to rely on B1 MG. But if that is read they can interrupt you before MG comes out if their normals reach.

B12 is very easy to punish. Backdash, D1, fast normals and specials. Lantern players typically don't use this often due to the huge gap in it.

Edit: There still is the B1 OR MB stuff as well.
