I'm not saying Aquaman isn't good, I think he's really good. But you can't say that Aquaman is potentially 1st or 2nd place and then have him not place top 8 without a good reason!
Yes, you can.
I love NRS games, I LOVE watching them above every game except Tekken (my heart) and SF4 (just a well-designed game), but I unfortunately and fraudulently never had the time to really devote my time to them. That said, I AM an outsider looking in from other games from my past.
It takes great players to make all those theoretical tier-lists actually happen. Cammy, Fei Long, and Sakura were slept on for the longest time. As was Morrigan and Vergil. As was Cervantes and Sophitia in SoulCal2. As was Mishimas in Tekken before Korea made their ever-lasting mark.
When you have a bunch of people emulating what they see on YouTube or Twitch and switching from their main after every single freakin' loss, instead of actually learning every in and out of their character and really trying to adapt to what other characters can do to beat their character or what habits their opponents have, you get what you see: lowest-common-denominator bandwagon characters dominating. It's happened in FG until evolution truly occurred . In Injustice, it's the Kal-El and Teth Adam show.

We'll see though; Interesting topic that I hope no Aquaman mains get upset about us discussing.
I hope they do.
Again, just as an outsider that has been playing FGs seriously and NAH-competitively for a loooong time (I plead the fif), I see "hidden" top chars like Grundy, WW, Flash, Dick, and now MMH played by people that complain, use excuses, or just flat-out don't deliver.
It's not the character, it's the player. Step your game up.
