General/Other Official Patch Notes for Bane Announced by Ed Boon!

Bane was "good" but he wasn't top tier, this buff will hopefully let him contend with the best, that's the whole point of balance patches. I say "this" buff, because the other two are mostly quality of life changes.

Ugh...I learned EARLY on how scary a patient and smart venom using Bane can be...he was mid tier before all this. I support these changes though and I like the idea of NRS listening to us and making an effort.

In the meantime, I will be flying chucking maces even more than before...

Where is crossplay?
Us bane players have been rewarded for months of suffering. A mid tier char that can at least afford to make an extra mistake or 2 vs his fucked up matchups. Love it!

I've played Bane since day 1 and I'm certainly not the only player on the forums who felt he needed a better way to get in, considering the massive startup on charge. I've been suffering w/him since april, I can celebrate as I see fit, thanks

Its called dashing. We got it after the first patch.

Yes, except I usually did it in jest and people were like "doo-doo-doot-doo that's Doom". You do it and everyone just gets that rectal-thermometer cringe because you're actually serious.

No, you were quite serious multiple times. Nice attempt at trying to save face, but I know you. I'm not getting into some silly flame war you're attempting to start for some odd reason, I certainly don't need to defend myself especially when you do virtually the same thing

To that point, its not so much a flame war as a "There's more influential, higher skilled, and well-traveled Banes saying this is completely unnecessary", yet you use the "us Banes" as though you speak for us as a collective whole when its clearly not the case.

We don't need a charge cancel because its an asinine concept that has no positive outcome. If you want to speak for yourself, that's fine and dandy but don't bring in the rest of the community into it because for the most part we don't want any part of a charge cancel. We even have an entire topic devoted to it, and I'd be hard-pressed to find a top Bane player whom realistically wants it.

Doombawkz I know you since April since we first started playing Bane together. We originally made a thread for buffs and multiple people wanted a charge cancel since even after the first patch. For some reason you are acting like this didn't happen, then cool. I never said "this is what every bane wants" so don't put words in my mouth.

And again, we aren't getting one, so why bring it up? You've made multiple suggestions that people thought were "asinine", do you see me bringing them up as well? The trolling is kind of getting childish at this point

That was a long long time ago, revisiting the idea after realizing 223 has 32+ frames of cancel advantage caused a perspective switch. A large one.

Now its about 12-46 in favour of not having a charge cancel. Times have changed, its time to come out of the past.

Which Bane players have been "suffering for months"? I remember suffering for one month and then the first patch dropped and everything wasn't "suffering" so much as "biding".

And I don't recall making any recent asinine requests outside of the "BA needs an air dash? So does Bane." type stuff which is obvious satire.

I think my requests were... Venom benefits for ring toss, damage reduction or mobility boost in venom (granted) and just general quality of life changes for hitboxes. Everything else is exo-character changes.

Again, like anybody else here, you've said things people don't agree w/. It's something that is not happening and there is 0 point in debating it anymore. Because this isn't likely to be the last patch, and I don't want people spreading misinformation about what we "need" for our character, especially not people whom associate with our side of the forum. This is why I made the other topic, so people can discuss and come to a reasonable conclusion as to why charge cancelling can't be a thing for Bane. Its called nipping it in the bud.

There are many people who made a legit case for charge cancelling being viable and just because YOU don't agree w/it, sorry, you don't represent everybody and neither do I. There are multiple bane players who wanted a charge. If you don't want to read the threads, that's your own issue.

This is an opinion you could have PMed me instead of polluting the thread acting like you're some sort of authority over anybody, which we both know you are not. I'm going to be the adult here and take the high road, as I've tried to do a few times now. Think whatever you like and there is nothing to "nip in the bud" cause you aren't in charge of anybody, regardless if you somehow think you are

You're right, but I never said I represented everybody. That doesn't magically make the point any less valid towards us not needing or being able to have a charge cancel, what with it being a bad road no matter what the lead in. I've seen all of the cases people have brought towards the point, and they all fall apart at the same part. If you want to read it over, go ahead. There is no way to make cancelling charge balanced and useful at the same time. I'm sorry, but there isn't.

As for PMing you my opinion, why bother when we are in Bane forum on a topic about patch notes and you brought up a point that I, as a Bane player, have full right to discuss? I don't have authority over anyone, but I know enough about the inner workings of my character to know when someone isn't accurate in their information and I'm not afraid to tell you so. Go to the topic and see where every argument in favour of it falls apart, and then realize that me "nipping it in the bud" isn't prompting authority, but demanding learning.

Also, you don't have to tag me in every post. Just quoting me will work fine.

Charge cancel would be fucking stupid, he can already bend people over with his current tech a charge would make his mix ups impossible, what would be the point of his huge dash buff if you can just use the charge, dash cancel would put Bane into the fucking SSS tier
