^ This is why I made the post; not to complain about cheapness or scrubiness or whatever else, but for those of us trashing the game to remember that we are basically playing with a child's toy. Stop hating because you are pissed off at the moment.

If all posts that were created for the sole purpose to slander a game because you don't like it after 3 months were locked, deleted, and banned, I wouldn't mind at all. Then you wouldn't see threads like this either. Keep it in general discussion or off-topic.

This website is serving it's purpose, at least to me. It shows me useful information on the characters I use most often and how to apply "tech" in matches, and I'm sure it does for many others.

And no, no no. If someone is better than me it doesn't mean they have no life. Hell, people worse than me can have no life. I am, however, convinced that you yourself are a real life loser though (glorifying the term "filthy casuals" says a ton about you), and even worse, you might not even be better than me. Now that's fucking sad.

I am not an average gamer and I like to win (who the hell doesn't), but I also don't give two shits about applying "The Art of War" and similar philosophies to a video-game; and why should we? If we all read the book and agreed on the main idea, it doesn't mean that there are going to more intense matches full of originality and creative tactics. It would probably be the opposite; like watching a Call of Duty final where both teams camp and refuse to move. Video games are not supposed to be taken as seriously as you would going to war with China or preparing to fight Mike Tyson...A lot of us need to come down off our high-horses and get a reality check, or at the very least an ego check.

If the game gets boring it is because you, the gamer, allow it to get boring. There are other ways to fight matches. There are other characters to play. Stop making excuses for not wanting to play without certain safety nets and have fun losing once in a while.

I kind of see what your saying, but I have to disagree. Video games are whatever you want them to be. A hobby, a passion or in some cases a job. When you spend days and days practicing trying to perfect something or a certain play style, only to have someone you know hasn't put in the time you have beat you consistently is frustrating. But that depends on how you look at the game. A casual player may not care, a hobbyist may look at it as a possible learning opportunity and a pro would look at it as a weeks worth of training. Ppl get mad and upset because their passionate about gaming and to me that's pretty cool. So find your niche, find what crew fits you best and surround yourself with those ppl and take your focus away from the negative impacts and just enjoy what your doing :)

He didn't make up any rules of his own; he stated his opinion based on what, in his opinion, cheapens a win. I really don't think it can be put any simpler than that and I apologize if you aren't able to grasp the idea. You may like your ideas better, but that doesn't mean they are the right ones...Don't worry, I don't expect you to understand that either.

Yes, this web-site is all about how you aren't a tr00 gamer unless you travel and participate in tournaments. I have the hand-book.

that article n the OP was a good read i kinda feel the same way and i see why he doest want to get in the community, shit i remember when i first joined TYM and i made a comment about spamming and people said i was a scrub and there is no such thing as spamming and i got pretty much crucified for saying there are cheap ways of playing. all is good now but i think sometimes fg elitists need to take it a litte easier on casuals i mean at the end of the day its a game and we should all be having fun playing

Tr00 gamer? It's just about clueless people giving their opinions on the internet. And yeah, their opinions, especially about this topic, about what's "cheap" and "boring" and whatever, are wrong. And that's why they'll never win anything, that's why they'll be keyboard warriors, and that's why they'll hate on anyone who actually decides to learn the game.

I just read this, I guess you were referring to me but you didn't have the brain to quote/tag me lol, and even no one was absolutely acknowledging your post.

This is exactly what I mean with 2013 Filthy Casuals.

1) The purpose of this website is to grow and connect the MK community. Not to be your personal wikipedia where you can copy shit and call yourself "good".
2) You call people "real life loser" behind your keyboard, in a dimly lit room, with your fingers covered in cheetos. HA.
3) You don't even know me, because of course, you're new here. I'm better than you in every single aspect of life. Don't worry about that.

That is literally the exact way Ryu has been designed to be played for over 25 years, its is not scrub play but the foundation of not only Street Fighter but all other fighting games by extension.

sounds like the writer just needs to play a hard fighting game. i dont know which that would be though. VF? complex but full of cheap stuff like every other game. it would make a sense if "the better the move, the harder the execution" or sth like that.
