Nurgle Chaos God of Death and Disease
From what I gathered last night using him, he is going to shut down my main badly. HG players are gonna have to really study this match-up.

After playing my brother last night (an amazing Aquaman player) I'm convinced Aquaman blows Martian up. Aquas mix ups and 50/50 game are far superior not to mention he has faster start up frames on just about everything. One other big issue is that trying to teleport on Aquaman is a bitch. If he reads it right his From the Deep knocks Martian out of Tele even if he's already almost completely off screen. It's really tough for MMH...I know it's waaayyyy too early to throw numbers out but I see the matchup close to around 6-4 in favor of Aquaman assuming both players are well educated on both characters....IMO

Something useful in relation to the Lex match up, Martian Manhunter's MB back 3 blows up his trait really well since it's multi-hitting so that's a big help.

Edit: Lex cannot punish overhead version of teleport with corps charge. After setting the computer to reversal corps charge I always had enough time to block the corps charge in practice mode so teleport can't be minus eight.

Just a couple brief thoughts so far.

I do not think the Superman MU is a good one...He wins the zoning game and somehow db1 lasers are knocking me out of overhead tele. Trait doesn't mean much because Supes's f2 can reach as far as MMH's traited 2, and it's faster than anything that will hit him out of it. Also obviously MMH loses in the damage department.

MMH has pretty good damage especially with trait on.
 
My top 5 before MMH in no order were Aquaman,Black adam, superman,green lantern, and wonder woman. I now think that MMH takes lanterns spot in the top 5. Side note: have any of you guys or gals used his meter burn air dash effectively and in what situations do you recommend it for?

gl is better than WW. my opinion at least

Mine is a complete opinion too. I just think her mobility is better and she has better matchups. Do you think MMH is top 5?
i think he's third best after superman and adam...then GL on 4 and aqua on 5 or maybe WW on 5 and aqua on 6. I dont really fully understand her yet.

Maybe im a little biased because aquaman is my main lol but I see him being third behind Kal and black adam. I play WW sometimes but from what I see the top players are saying she may be better than kal.

Just in my opinion, we just don't have enough match up experience to say how he does against the cast that would put him in the position of top 5.


Coupled with the fact he has only been out for less thank a week thus far.

Hm. In the Catwoman battle I found myself throwing orbs and dashing in front of them in case of the Cat dash.
I was doing meterless combos to save meter and using MB Orbs.
But damn when she hits you. I feel like I guess more in this match than I did for my High School Finals :confused:

I dont know anything about the HG match up I hardly see any online lol. But yea its just my opinion on him being the top 5. I think hes got ALOT of tools in his arsenal. Time will tell though. Plus they will probably nerf superman to death so someone has to move up lol.

This weekend I played 160 [100 x 60 for me :cool: ] matches with a teammate, we studied the Joker vs MMH matchup for hours. MMH controls all the space and flow of the match, opening a few holes for Joker's zoning and setups.

A good Joker can be annoying, but only if you don't have patience. Key factors in a good Joker are punishers [b13, 212 and flower] and, of course, the teeth setups. Don't worry, with the exception of teeth setups, everything else only take chip, you do more than that. Don't throw out random teles from a distance, they are full combo punishable on reaction, so the best way to use these are only for punish. In compensation, overhead teles was an interesting option as the difficulty that Joker has to punish effectively [needs confirm]. Once you advance at a Joker player, they will try and use the flower/teeth/j3 to make you respect their space. Close/mid orbs help here to safely dash approach, trait 3 works well against j2 and j3, 22~bf3 is our f23~breathe version and MB b3 is pretty great against players who go in with mindless rushdown.

For the love of anything you have belief save meter for pushblock and clashes, this is crucial in this matchup.

Usually I ended combos with b13 to space and zoning or 222~close orb, which limited his wakeup options and open for mixup with b1/b2/f2/db1. Don't forget, you can move opponents around as you wish with bf3, pillars, teles and orbs, so use them carefully to extend or close the gap between both characters.

6-4 in MMH favor, maybe 7-3.

A bunch of combos don't really work on her tiny hitbox, and double j3 is way harder to land. Obviously slide is a problem. Traited 3 is a godsend in this MU, but it still feels hard.

When KF does her slide you have to jb Air dash overhead teleport punch. Even if she blocks your safe.

like zod people need to wake up and realize mmh is not really a zoner.. he can zone for a little but one bad read with the pilars and the opponent is in your face and can sometimes even punish you by dashing in really quick.. say goes with the overhead projectiles.. his orbs have shady hitboxes sthat many times can be dashed through.. his zoning is only good with meter but we all know that runs out quickly.. imo you should sendem fullscreen and get 1-3 zoning attempts and then focus on trait/ mb orb footsies once they get 2/3 screen because at that point its too risky to zone

What's specifically giving you trouble?

I've played it a few times with one of my friends, the matches seemed close, but I fight their Doomsday a lot so I dunno :/.

I'm no expert on the match up by any means though.
