Leave them respawning, just have them alternate sides. GEtting rid of the respawn kind of homogenizes the stages a bit too much IMO.

On one side, you have homogenity/predictability; on the other side, you have Blind Luck playing a bigger role than it normally does in fighting games (save for Smash Bros, but that's why they turn the spawning items off).

Pick your poison.

Maybe we can get somewhere in the middle.

It should be random stage. To solve the problem that you can see what the stage is before selecting it can be player 2's random stage. You select your character and then at stage select player 2 joins in. Whatever random stage player 2 starts on is the stage they pick. Simple.

We're the only fighting game where we allow people to counter pick stages. We let players get away with this in MK and now we're doing it again.


Tom pointed out in another thread that idea takes out roughly half the stages in the game because when the player 2 joins it will only pick the main stage so no rooftops no alleys no pig etc... That doesn't fix the problem.

And why are people ignoring the fact that hall of justice is as bad if not worse for several characters. Maybe because people aren't abusing it as much yet.

That is why there are stage transitions. Right now, when you get your desired Stage, and you get your opponent in the corner, you don't want to do a transition the majority of the time. It's better to keep the corner and stay on your preferred map.

Making it player 2 random, if you want a certain area of a stage, then use transitions more.

I try turning off interactables before I pick any level. But Player 2 doesnt wanna cooperate.
So in return I throw shit at em. LOL
Learn to shut that shit off if you dont wanna get blown up

Heh, the thing I find funny is that the nerfed drones pale in comparison to some of the other interactibles. I'll tell you right now that both Striker's and Insurgency (Holy fuck those TV/lamp explosions, especially when you consider that the lamp is right above your head on transition!) have some far stupider interactibles, and the car on Wayne manor is pretty retarded as well.

I understand that those don't respawn, but TBH I see those play a larger role in my matches than those drones do.

I honestly just think that people haven't explored these stages enough. Rooftops is FoTM, just like Gotham was at release.

EDIT: By the way, some trap characters (like Joker) benefit HEAVILY from the flame thing on Themyscara.

I like spacing strategies and having them come from one side makes sense, it also happens to be on the side that you can get stage transitioned on. It is a fun stage strategically. The only thing I would ask, is to either get rid of fire and gun drones OR buff those drones to allow combos like lightning then it would be just as dangerous to fight agility/gadget on that stage as power. When I get lucky and draw lightning I abuse the hell out of it. Meterless 40-50% combos makes me feel like WW.

It's not blind luck at all, they respawn at set intervals. The only random element is which drone it's going to end up being.

The loser should should have the option to either
- Pick a new char
- Pick a new Stage
- Turn Interactables off

Maybe if we focused on learning how to properly backdash interactables such as the drones instead of constantly wanting everything nerfed the power characters would be forced to pick a different stage with more unique advantages.
How do you backdash it if you are at fullscreen?

I think it would be completely fair if the projectiles that gadget characters use also track fullscreen.

If you're fullscreen you can jump with pretty much all characters or still backdash

Like CrimsonShadow said, it isnt that simple. People wont throw them unless they are OTGing, getting you in an awkward position or catching you dashing. I have no problems with other throwable interactables as I think it focuses more on spacing and strategy. My only problem with rooftop is that they have that option nearly 75% of the time, making it super difficult for characters that do not have that option.

They should not respawn randomly.

There should be 3, one in the middle, and one on each end of the map.

Let gadget characters plant bombs on them also, so after they get done shooting them, they explode and can't be used again.

Exact same for watchtower, and for Hall of Justice, except just only one rumba that patrols up and down the stage.

The problem isn't so much the interactables themselves as it is that they keep coming back.

I'm surprised more people don't hate the barrels in Stryker's Yard.

50/50 the stage the player 2 icon lands on.
problem solved.

i already updated "the random select problem solved" thread with that info

People don't get what I'm saying by backdash, you use the INVINCIBILITY frames on your backdash to dodge the interactable. You can do the same thing with projectiles. Go into training mode and practice it, it's an invaluable skill.

Krayzie plays Catwoman and has set ups right off the beginning of the match that set up stage transitions. Instead of talking about nerfing shit, please go adapt. All I ever see on this forum is nerf threads.

I'm always against nerfs aswell. Never said nerf this stage or anything. I just answered what you posted. Some chars like GL for example can't dash out of shit

Seriously, go try it. I can almost assure you it will work if you time it right, having a slower backdash is actually better.

Backdashes still have invincibility in the start-up, and as SonicBoomBrad is saying, you use that invincibility to nullify the projectiles.
