Injustice: Gods Among Us Cheesers Should be Ashamed of Themselves

The Admiral

Just a no good grifter.
"there are some fun-loving and highly skilled opponents, such as myself, still online."

I love how he bitches non-stop through the article, then has the ego to claim to be a "highly skilled player." It boggles the mind.

This is exactly why a tutorial mode explaining in detail HOW to deal with xyz scenarios is needed. Developers HAVE to spoon feed newbies to their game to help them understand the game. A glorified virtual manual is of little use when they don't even know how or why to block, jump, dash, evade, punish, anti air, pressure etc etc.

Yes youtube and forums like tym etc can help provide resources, but the truth is that kind of information should be already available in the game they just paid money for.

A good tutorial mode that breaks down the basics can help turn a newbie into an intermediate. More intermediate players means more competition, which in turn leads to more great players and less articles like the one in the OP.

JokersWild515

I'm a man of my word.
If only Joker's zoning was actually as good as he said. Then maybe I'd get to see more top-level Joker players.

Christ, I wish I got in a game with that guy and his "cheese" Joker.

LEGEND

YES!
with all do respect if joker was OP as you are saying wouldn't there be more jokers, i mean i know that it's pretty annoying when people start to use the same move but i think that at the same those guys that are doing it become predictable and if you learn to block it they are screwed right? now SUPERMAN is other story ........... he is god shhhhhhhhhh.

I hear wind flying over someone's head.

Get your guns on. Sheriff is back.
This article is beyond uninformed. It is entirely filled with salt from someone who not only doesn't know the game, but also doesn't know anything about fighting game terms. Habdouken? Cheesing? (spamming dude not cheesing)

The best characters for winning are the easiest ones to cheese with: The Joker, Deathstroke, Green Lantern, or Scorpion.
I'd like to think that fighting with any character in Injustice: Gods Among Us is an art, and with practice comes perfection. Or, at least that's what I thought until I noticed the blatant cheesing by many players online. Many gamers are just in it to win it, no matter how much fun the game actually is, or in this case, isn't. With Joker and Deathstroke, I know that my opponent is likely going to stay on the opposite side of the screen from me and just keep shooting their guns. But probably more frustrating than those two is Green Lantern's ring throwing maneuver. It is impossible to win against a seasoned Green Lantern user, as he will throw you twice to begin a long combo, wait until you get up, and then do the exact same thing over and over again until your health bar is depleted. And then, there's one of the newbies to Injustice: Scorpion. Scorpion does this incredibly obnoxious morph where he flies out of the right of the screen and then immediately flies back into the left side of the screen to begin a combo. And, this morphing can be done over and over and over again.
Morphing? I've seen odd terminology before but how do you ever get that term for a teleport?

Guy obviously has no clue how to block or get in after blocking if he does. Just jump or dash up and block or if your Ares dude you can teleport on in or Godsmack some of this stuff. Seriously guy just learn how to play and stop trying to throw out your average in an online environment as if that makes you a "seasoned player" or "good".

Guy's entire article with its inaccurate top characters, wrong terms, and OBVIOUSLY wrong descriptions of how powerful the tools he struggles against are. All of these are punishable and he's a whiner with a website. Nice try guy, but you're just gonna get called out for an article this offensively inaccurate. No one will cheer your cause ...stop expecting "people to stop taking YOUR wins" away if you never bother to block or go in on them. I just get the feeling he throws out specials...otherwise he'd be punishing this stuff even at a beginner level.

Even if they added resources like that to a tutorial i've ran into plenty of people who, when I say "do the tutorial" they say either they're too lazy or they take it as me joking around.

The game needs to fucking detect when you get blown up by gunshots and FORCE players to watch a video at the end of a match. It's the only way, really.

There will always be a world of mindless shooter players.

I can't tell you how disappointed I was in STAR labs. It's a bunch of stupid minigames that don't teach you anything about the damn game.

You and me both. Although I think it has the right approach in terms of mini games - short and sweet lessons are the key for learning.

IMO tekken tag 2 lab mode was a very good step in the right direction. I think that should be used as a stepping stone for future tutorials. I've heard skull girls and Virtua fighter 4 had pretty boss ones to.

Sonic hurricane had a very good article on tutorials for FG's. It focuses more so on SF games, but the examples given can easily be applied to any FG. You can check it out here: http://sonichurricane.com/?p=5849
