I'm sure there are a few people in NOVA, the question is transportation and how easy it is to get there.
For fighting games in general, a lot of people already go up to Baltimore since that's the home of the larger competitive scene in the area. I know a fair amount of people in NOVA/DC that do not go, but that's largely because Baltimore = pain in the ass and not an option to get to on weekdays and a hassle on the weekends (read, no metro and for most people in DC if there isn't a metro stop it's just not happening). I've got a group I play with in DC and NOVA with, but for a fair amount of them no metro stop = not going to be there.
