You miss parts of the post every time. Everyone suggesting the ban is well aware of the negatives that could happen. We have looked at both sides, do not be so ignorant to think we have not. All your friends who play kabal, do they really go to tournaments?? The main guy who started this thread is a major player at tournaments he is a kabal main. I think you can give the 2 time evo champ a little more credit than you are doing.

Who has worked harder to perfect their character, players not going to tournaments or people who have won tournaments? This thread by no means is saying to ban Kabal from your house.

Lastly everyone who is so against just trying this get off your high pony and try some things in life. Change is how communities make themselves better. This is in no way saying it is going to be permanent but to try it out a couple of times and see the results, because all you pessimistic people might just be surprised by the results.

Maybe we need GGA to come into this thread and shed some light on it. I think the are probably the most active MK group out there and could paint a better picture for everyone..............Oh wait, that right this was discussed with Perfect Legend and GGA 16 Bit.

Fighting through MKD Dairou with anyone not BRC/NS is a lot more suicidal than MK9 Kabal.

When did I say the negative outwiegh the positives? Also.... its is assumed that Pl and 16 Bit understood the positives of the idea.... so why are we discussing that?

Almost all of your post have said Sonya will body the group then or something else negative, never saying well Sonya may end up bodying the rest of the cast but we would have to see. It is not just understanding PL and 16 bit understood the positives it is also assumed that because they are high level players and know the cast better than most that they have taken the negatives into account as well.

If you for some reason fail to comprehend that then its your own fault. I will not continue this discussion as the topic has been derailed enough by you. Just sit back and look at your life.

I was thinking more along the lines of inadvertent mechanics, the shoto option select against Vega's wall dive vortex and Balrog's invincibility hop is no less questionable than karajabs in the MK3 games, but yeah, that too. Can you imagine if the original characters had Super?

I am one to say that Kabal ban could be positive to the game, but part of me thinks that then we would see an army of Cyrax players. Now I discussed this idea with a buddy who plays more casually and loved watching tournys, his perspective is that he is sick and tired of watching Kabal players and he wants to compete and wants to level up, but he feels that he can't play his favorite character(Scorpion) just because of Kabal players. From my experience I never feel I can even use my main(Mileena) in a Kabal match. Now I have leveled quite a bit since my first tourney and I still love playing Mileena, I use here so much, lets just say there is a reason why my wife considers her my mistress. When I face a Kabal player I always feel like I have no option and D4 becomes the song of the day for her. I think we should entertain the idea of a ban for the character and see how it plays out.

PL, has made some outstanding acheivments in MK9 and no, Kabal hasn't won an EVO tourney, but he does seem to dominate all others out there. I say give it a shot and see how it pans out you never know it could make things better and if it doesn't then we an stop banning him.

How much more excited would you be for tournaments?

Myself @16bit, @claudevonstroke all were playing around with the idea of (actually we weren't playing around with the idea) but we were discussing if Kabal were banned how much more enjoyable and fun the game would be.

The only people who would possibly complain are myself and other top Kabal players but we all started with different chars and only moved over to Kabal because of how stupid he is. We all are more than capable enough to play other characters at a high level. I feel like this would make the game better.

Smash community banned Metaknight in Brawl. I know you guys wanted to ban Scorpion but I think Scorpion had WAY more holes than Kabal does.

I will say this even Cyrax is manageable. DJT I felt like played great but I don't think he could consistently replicate that at all. All of it was really good patience and great reads. He had an awesome weekend.

Kabal I feel like destroys the meta game of MK and makes you play into his game nonstop. You guys says Scorpion breaks the game and doesn't play Injustice. I feel like that about Kabal. I'm not sure if Kabal was this stupid in UMK3.

With Kabal banned I feel like a lot of characters now become viable and the game becomes more enjoyable to watch.

I think it sucks how someone as great as Dizzy has to think like "damn as good as I become there is nothing I can do about Kabal" at least Kenshi can be counter picked by Shang, Smoke, Scorpion (to an extent), Reptile etc. But Kabal its like.....yea I hope someone else beats him.

Anyway just tell me your thoughts as a community cause I honestly don't want to see this game die and don't think like "oh PL wants to get Kabal banned cause he wants to win" I really don't care. I have won two EVO's back to back I have really nothing else to gain playing this game competitively. I really want to be able to have fun now. I love this game and I love the people I have met and I would like to keep going to tournaments playing this game and hanging out with all the wonderful people I now know and keep having hype matches with one another.

Kenshi would still be a problem for most of the cast imo.

PL you could say that the sky is green, and people would still debate with you lol. 2 years later I have no problem with Kabal being banned. He's not a popular character besides being good in the hands of top players. I'd like to see the game last until MK10 too. I'm for it.

Now let me ask you this, who at this time considered Kabal to be the best character in the game? Or even top 5 for the most part? Nobody, because everyone was wailing to high heavens about Kung Lao winning EVO by "abusing" 2,4,low hat. Punishable by several characters I might add, It just didn't occur to anyone that Mileena couldn't and that we should buff her instead.

Is there perhaps a correlation to what's happening in Injustice? Preaching how stupid Scorpion was within 2 weeks only to move on to Superman? Going apeshit over Superman winning EVO and letting Black Adam off with a slap on the wrist?

Should we just ask for Kabal to be DLC for Injustice? Is that what you want?

Wherever you draw the line on stupid characters, there would still 7-3s all over the place, Liu Kang vs CSZ, Kitana vs Sub-Zero, Mileena vs Sektor, Sektor vs Kano, Noob Saibot vs Sheeva etc.

You can dismiss it as horseshit if you want, just have fun playing Injustice a year from now when NRS have moved on and there's no Twitter to bombard patch demands with after everyone realizes how wrong they were.

1) I don't play Injustice.
2) That video is over 2 years old. We know what every character is capable of now and we know what really is and is not fucked up.
3) A 7-3 here and there is to be expected; You just can't catch every little thing. If I feel like playing Sektor and I fight a good Milleena or Shang then I'm in for some shit. Doesn't mean those characters are messed up though.
Kabal/Kenshi/etc., however, are messed up because they 7-3 or better literally 80% of the cast. When they game simply doesn't have anything in it to reliably deal with their shit, it's just wrong.

If kabal is banned or even locked in tourney play then I can definitely agree the game would be different. Most stream watchers are only seeing top 8 which holds 2-4 kabals every time. And those kabal players body people who could beat their alts because it isn't an S+ character. Drop the kabal and make them use their alts and watch how different every tournament is from our past few years of play. Sure there's still the A+ but that's a much larger range than just one S+ character. Which is what people want, diversity. Not just kabal and his 2-3 counter picks (Lao / cyrax / kenshi) to the point where if you've seen one tournament you've seen them all. IMO then MKC just wants change, and soft banning/ tourney locking kabal would open the door to many characters that get demolished by him before they can even make it to semi finals. But this is all my opinion of course. I'm no PL or any of the GGA.
