Some random comments on the Bane match up, Hawkgirl's strings like 3,2, back 1 seem to be great for destroying quite a few of his armor moves pretty handily. I've been abusing those a lot lately versus Bane players if they do get in close. I like to also use MB mace toss to blow up his charges since the two hits kill his armor pretty well.

Although I use trait often in this match up, I find myself having the most success playing solid ground footsies and going to flight from time to time as opposed to being in flight the majority of the time and in general the more I play Hawkgirl I seem to be using trait less than I have before.

Her trait is still amazing and one of her best tools, but I think it's a tool at least for me that I use more sparingly and I get opened up a lot less I've been noticing from both my recorded matches and from what I've discussed with some people I play regularly (might just be me).

Yeah I feel that I'm relying on flight less and less the more I play her. Its a great asset but she has way more than that

Is it just me or does doing d2 into d2 make the opponent stand faster than usual? I'm getting some odd things messing around with it and even though I dont think it can be used for resets it is giving folks less time to setup wakeups. Even got a few mace charges after it. I wonder if I could delay the second d2 to get the splat stand effect for a true reset...

Yeah its 5.5 or 6-4 for HG at best, I posted about it in the NW matchup thread. Just coz NW cant just derp his way in doesnt mean its a 7-3 matchup >__>;

I'm not sure on Zod. I dont think anyone is playing him right yet. Everyone uses the trait for stupid extensions and its a mixup device IMO. If he gets you full screen his air control and space control with those triple shots is harsh, but in some situations you can can air mace toss and MB to dive inside under him and once you get on top of him he is going to struggle to get you off. Its a weird match that seems to go either entirely one way or another. If he slows you down at all he can trait up or setup a few things and control you. If you get in once he can get started again easily.

I can't call it a 5-5 because it just swings so severely in both directions at times that I feel one tactic more in either character's favor and the matchup goes entirely to them. Hope we see some Zod footsies soon.

I fear his damage and trait more than threading the needle vs Zod. If he catches you jumping you will get shot to hell and most times vs Zod if he dominates its because folks got to air happy on approaches. If you work your way in on the ground you stand a better chance, but that trait of his means this slow approach will get you grabbed and put through some hurting.

Basically he controls space and gets big ass rewards from mixups off his trait. He can keep you out a lot with pistols and eyeblasts and when you know when to use them kryptonian blaster sets up a gauntlet of crap onscreen...he's odd. Its like he slows the match down a ton and fishes for countermoves and punishes. I see his zoning as just a way to buy time for trait mixups or to lead to jump punish full combo opportunites.

Hawkgirl's mobility helps though.

i figure this match out so much like Deathstroke.. We must get in dashing and blocking but we always fear the guns... Also he can punish Wing Evade~3 and whiffed Mace Charge so easily with his 1 frame charge :c

I found out that Hawkgirl can beat her lasso spin as wake up getting close and as soon as she snads up yo mist do D1~Mace Charge the D1 will whiff and the mace charge will beat her o.o i was about to test that with Black Adam's ground smash or Killer Frost's slide

That sounds like the whiff cancel tech that allows you to eat armored wakeups. Its pretty much a universal thing the whole cast can do.

Zod hmm...I've only played 2 competent Zod players, I'd like to play the match up a lot more before I come to an opinion.

I've said it many times and I'll say it again, using this tech, hawkgirl can beat nearly every single wakeup attack (the exception seems to be DS, this little fuck).
Try it yourself, go against lex, knock him down and set him to wu corp charge, do 3 xx we2 and whoosh, it'll whiff. It's not easy to do, but it helps in many matchups. I've done it myself several times /online/.

Wing Evade GOT INVINCIBILITY FRAMES which makes the tech work really well.

Honestly the best way to prove it is go to training mode vs aquaman and set him to do the trident toss, on your side just time the WE to come out on the time of impact and it'll go right through you.

I'm excited for that, actually like that match up for some reason.

I'm actually picking up Green Lantern because of that skin lol so that should give me some insight on the match up I might be missing.

I'm also hoping they have special dialogue with each other since Shayera and John had a relationship in the Justice League cartoon haha.
