I still need to finish Episode 1. #emo.
You better catch up man.

I 100% support this podcast.
Glad to hear it!

@AK L0rdoftheFLY

Only listened to the first 30 minutes. Here are some thoughts on the best scene's.

Best Scene is GGA. GBS is the most consistent and quality stream that exists in the NRS community. From the announcing, to how smooth the tournament is run, the youtube channel with all the streamed games recorded, the blow ups, announcements, jokes, salt, the seasons and rankings, the connection with the stream chat and many other reasons that I can't list off the top of my head.

As for Domination this is where I don't agree with the panelists. No one can take away from from Theo's dominance or Kdz's Evo championship. But overall quality of players, GGA gets the nod again in my books. Major tourney winner, two top 8 placers at Evo (with not so top tier characters) I couldn't even guess how many top 8 finishes GGA has combined, but my assumption is that it's more than any other scene (don't quote me on that). Not to mention @GGA Saucy Jack who just won Naptown Clutch IV. GGA also has some of the best character representation out there. Very few can argue that 16 bit isn't the best CW, that PPJ isn't the best HG, that Max isn't the best Bane, that Panty Christ wasn't the best Joker.

One subject you guys didn't discuss is the up and coming scene's. If I had to name one that I tune into regularly that I enjoy and who also have some excellent players, it would be BLTB. @Blind_Ducky @Everlast @Rage Malarkey @Captain Oxygen (who was there for awhile) @daddydab32ho @Forbidden_Donut @Ninequads93 along with some other players I'm sure I'm missing, have a very exciting stream, with some high quality play. Sleeping on them would be a mistake.

Going to bed now. I look forward to listening to the rest tomorrow. Shoutouts to you guys from running this podcast.
BLTB is very up and coming. Great point. I can't argue with the rest of you post either.
Thank you for this podcast and I found it interesting to hear the other side of the argument on the variation lock. I have always thought we should reward the character specialist and allow the winner to change their variation but after hearing the other side I am not so sure anymore. I actually don't know the right answer. I have lots of questions.

Do we want to reward the character specialist or the counter-picker?
Do we want a hype stream or do we want to reward tournament players who train hard?
If character variations only change 2 specials is it really that big of a deal one way or the other?
Will forcing character variation lock create more 7-3's or make less of them?

I know the above question are not necessarily mutually exclusive but I will have to defer to other's opinions because now I am not so sure.

I want hype streams because no one, not even the most traveled tournament player, can make every tournament. But we should also reward the people who travel and train hard. I originally thought we should reward the character specialist but after thinking I also realized that it is a lot of work to have a good alt character to take you far in a tournament especially since our scene has leveled up so much since the beginning of MK9.

Taking into account the above 4 questions I actually now realize that the last question is the most important. Whichever decisions makes more 5-5's and 6-4 match ups is the way we should go. 7-3's are bad for everyone. But which choice makes the tournament more fair? Character variation or not? I have no idea.

Here is the only thing I know for sure.

-If the loser wants to hit rematch then it must be an exact rematch.
I would like to hear the developers thoughts on this. Seems like no one knows what to do with this.

I have been to gga a few times and loved its a great place and great guys. Would go back again anytime and probably will, always had a lot of fun and I've been treated very nicely. That being said the amount of gga dick riding by people not even in gga on tym lately is getting to new levels of gayness that I don't think has been seen or even approached before. If this continues on this pace, One day gga will form a spire made of man meat and tym will collectively sit on it, taking it all the way in. Prepare your anuses because it's coming.

Why do some people just feel the need to go against the grain? It's obvious why people like GGA.

Are you saying you dislike Them?

I finished listening to the podcast and while I enjoyed it, I liked the first one more because I felt it focused more on Injustice and I think this one focused pretty heavily on MKX and personally, I really don't care about what's going on with MKX aside from new character announcements lol. Maybe that's just me though since I'm not an MK player.

As Bio said, I think time stamps that would outline where a new topic starts and what it is would be helpful.

I know I really should do this but I don't want to...if I am drinking it may also be impossible. lol.

Seriously though. I'll try to do that for the next one.

I'm sure you feel the same way when the east coast receives verbal felacios.

Since when does that happen? Especially by people aren't actually in the EC scene?
You were around in the MK9 days, weren't you?

Regardless, I don't see your point at all. It's actually a pretty useless post, no offense. People who praise GGA without being a part of GGA are doing so from an outsider's perspective, and they have every right. GGA provides us with a stream, and we have the right to find it entertaining, to love the gameplay, the interaction among GGA players, the commentary, etc... Seriously, what's your problem with that exactly? Didn't you explicitly stated you agree with the lovefest since you've been there and have nothing but great things to say? Or are you saying that unless someone has been to GGA, he has no right to praise them? I mean if I sit here and praise Tony's food, then you'd have a point, since I've never tasted it.

Your post here is his gripe.

Your post here is his gripe.
Wow, I mean honestly, I have no idea how to thank you for your explanation. It was super needed, given the complexity of the issue at hand. Now go ahead, and read my post again and understand how his gripe is ridiculous: He's basically complaining that people watch GGA's stream, find it entertaining on different levels (humor, gameplay, etc...) and praise them for it. If that's not a ridiculous issue to have then I don't know what is.

But once again, I can't thank you enough for that much-needed clarification. I almost misunderstood Claude's super nuanced point had it not been for your timely interjection.
