Match-up Discussion ZOD MU CHART -Relaxedstate

@MylesWright_

I'll be back 3ing
out of curiosity, how many times have you actually played this match-up, or any match-up, at a high level versus solely theory fighting in your one-track-mind?
You can hardly accuse me of having a one-trick mind when I am the only Killer Frost player that takes into account everything before saying anything about a match-up. I don't even say anything anymore because you guys don't listen and are still not even at the point comprehension of the character that I was at a year ago. Ignorance is bliss

I can't believe i agree with this cupcake but dave is right when he was talking about how zods balls are more effective at certain distances.

Against NW the zod balls are better mid screen, right outside the neutral distance. Full screen gives NW more mobility which can allow NW to get around zods zoning ALOT easier which also gives him the chance to try and counter zone.

Ive always thought this mu was fun but annoying.

If you think so why not try helping me rather than constantly insulting me?
This doesn't qualify as constant insulting, this was a one time effort to influence you not to type like an idiot. This isn't gameplay related, which I'm down to help anytime,
This is more about learning how to speak English vs "ghetto" talk

Lesson one: don't type with double negatives.

Example:
  • That won’t do you no good.
  • I ain’t got no time for supper.
  • Nobody with any sense isn’t going.
  • I can’t find my keys nowhere.
  • She never goes with nobody.
  • John says he has not seen neither Alice or Susan all day.
  • You can’t see no one in this crowd.
  • There aren’t no presents left to open.
  • The secret cave did not have none of the treasures they wanted.
  • All the witnesses claimed that didn’t see nothing.
  • The pilot can’t find no place to land.
Lesson 2: stay away from words
That don't exist like CONVERSATE unless purposely enunciating irony w words or fun. When someone uses this word I check out because it isn't a word.
The word you're looking for is converse.

It is constant you say it a lot. Thanks for the English lesson too.

I agree with everything except the Martian Manhunter match up, which Zod loses 7:3, for three reasons, albeit there are more.

You above all Zod players should know that Zod performs best in match ups in which he can control space with instant aerial Zod balls. Against a traditional teleport character, if you bait and block a teleport, you are rewarded with a combo (i.e., versus Batgirl). Martian Manhunter, on the other hand, has a safe teleport, which is very difficult to bait and punish. This "just MB b+3, bro" argument has to stop. If you saw Ducky fight Dab at their most recent local tournament, he baited and punished overhead teleport with MB b+3 only once out of six games in the grand finals.

Martian Manhunter also restricts Zod's movement unlike any other character in Injustice. Punishing Zod's back dash always carries a certain risk. If Flash does MB torpedo, you get a full combo, if Aquaman does From The Deep, you punish with MB charge, if Sinestro does shackles, you punish with MB charge or get a free trait activation, and so on. If Martian Manhunter places an MB orb behind Zod, you get nothing. MB orb has no risk because the recovery is very limited. Furthermore, because Zod cannot walk, he must forward or back dash, which means that predicting movement and placing orbs at the right regions of the screen is relatively easy.

Finally, Zod loses in footsies for the most obvious of reasons. Martian Manhunter's trait returns every eight seconds and allows him to have longer ranged normal attacks than pre-patch Superman. Some of these aerial normal attacks in trait such as j.2 and j.3 punish back dash and are very difficult to anti air properly.
I agree with most of this. The match has to played super safe and make a lot of really risky reads (like pistol vs teleport). However, I thought about this more and really I think what makes it bad (aside from orbs and difficult to react to safe teleport) is that everytime MMH knocks Zod down with Phase charge he gets a free jump in 50-50 that is safe and can be left at advantage (HE gets this because Zod has so invincible wakeups). I had almost forgot about this setup before I just played the other day. I am pretty rusty now, but this is still some fucked up shit... drbuit and balding do it. I am trying to get Jupiter to set it up now because it works great against characters with no invinvicbe wakeups. I changed it to reflect this.

I'll still hold out on Flash. But that might only be slight disadvantage. Though you most certainly play that MU beter than me. I rarely find uses for iazbs

stop considering yourself a killer frost player; you're not one. you do not and have not played this game at a level to warrant any sort of acknowledgement or praise. and do not lump me into "you guys" as I seldom post about match-ups, and instead, actually play the game to learn more about my characters. but staying on topic, zod does have an advantage in this matchup, but in my opinion, not enough to warrant a 7-3 tag.

Ignore that scrub. I believe the match up is 5:5 unless the stage contains re-spawning interactable objects. Killer Frost has some solid tools versus Zod. Very good trait activation control with daggers and icebergs. Slide can make wraith's bite whiff like Flash's torpedo. 1F parry to deal with d+1,2 and 3 post-slide. She definitely has very good options.

Explain why Zod has advantage over Cat-woman to make it a 4-6 Mu?
It is not like you will listen anyway, but let me tag @GGA 16 Bit.

I find it hard to effectively zone against KF as using pistol to beat out dagger spam is risky all over the screen, or is it? She has slide to go under iazb and pistol, and iceberg to deal with ground zod balls and pistol.

Advice?
Similarly to the Zatanna match up, you have to accept the fact that Killer Frost will be tossing most of the projectiles in this match. She will therefore build lots of meter. The good news is that the projectiles lead to nothing. She cannot chip you or put you into the vortex, which is what she actually wants to do. If she is tossing daggers full screen away while your trait is safely recharging, hold down back and wait because you are winning as long as both characters share the same health.

They key is to activate trait and trade with daggers. A glitch will occur in which you will get hit by the first dagger but block the second one. The total damage is less than 7% if I recall correctly. So you take 7% of damage for an opportunity to do 40%-45%. I like those odds. Iceberg will punish this strategy, but here is the solution. Block a full screen iceberg and immediately perform a slow instant aerial Zod ball. Killer Frost is now forced to hold down back or slide. If she slides, charge, MB low laser, and trait activation are guaranteed.

Most Killer Frost players who know and fight me will never play the full screen game. They understand that they must approach you to win, so they will come to you first.

I am not going to listen to him. If you are going to mention the zoning game. The zoning game isn't really that hard to get around. The only thing in this mu I need to worry about his trait. From far distance when Zod pull out his trait. In order for him to get in. He has to Zod charge or Dash, Dashing from far screen is risky. If he does a zod charge. I can punish with a b3. If you didn't know that. Each time Zod players do a zod charge while Having trait. I can do a b3 all the time. So the best option is to dash which is very risky or chip damage.

So I just want Relaxstate to explain why this mu is a 6-4. I mean. He lives 15 minutes away. I would love to play some Injustice even though I am rusty!!!! I am not doing anything all week.
