OP updated. Added the Jailhouse vortex, TS gimmick. Need some MU strategies for all characters. How do you fight who?
NW...jump back air rocket.

I've yet to come across a NW that gets by it well enough...but if he does, it sucks unless you can get a pushblock, which you should have a lot of meter for.

Very true.

Lol I was told just yesterday by some scrub that I shouldn't use AORs. Something about it's very punishable and does barley any chip.

Well...2% chip is pretty good chip, and I beat his NW free with AORs and ATS.

it's not that bad. Everything can still be done, it's that b1 doesn't stuff wake ups after lift or EX lift. They can still be meaty and that's all that really matters
 
It's not a total loss but getting rid of something little, yet essential, like his OTG but leaving Superman's F23 shenanigans and insane damage is kinda messed up.

I've recently started changing how I play GL anyway but having something that wasn't by any means as dumb as some other character's shit taken out of GLs relatively small toolbox is ridiculous.

I've known this was coming since UFGT. It ultimately makes the MB lanterns might vortex useless now because wakeups will beat all of GLs options. And its worthless to waste a bar on MB Lanterns might just to bait a wakeup attack when you can do the same thing for no meter.

His Oki game off of the hard knockdown you get from ending combos with lanterns might is still really good. But losing his OTG hurts him. There's nothing to make up for the fact that opponents had to respect B1 after MB LM. That was huge. Good thing I was getting bored of the game anyway.

I'm sad to see it go, but since it was a universal problem (That allowed Flash, for instance, to ignore wakeups and leave himself at +11 on a knockdown), I'm not totally against the idea of it being removed.

This is what happens when people complain about dirty shit. They want to get rid of all the dirt in the game and then it all backfires and we end up losing our dirt to.(Not saying you Tay, im just talking in general) I've never complained about anyone elses dirt, not batmans, not killer frosts, nobody. THE ONLY thing I wanted in return was leave my dirt alone.
I went through this same shit with Subzero, they took him a piece at a time until he was a shell of his former self.

They have already nerfed Lantern 3 times. They took his advantage off of 2,2,3 away. They nerfed his already low damage output, and now this, they've taken his OTG.And while he's still a solid character(for now) Im not sticking around to watch them do to Lantern what they did to Subzero. Once is enough.

I agree with you Rob, its kind of ridiculous, that rest was a pretty large part of his game. It actually gave him a comeback factor, but now since that is gone I feel like they are going to do to him what they did to subzero all over again. I didnt even know he use to have frame advantage off of 223, having that would have benefited him immensely. Jesus I really hope they dont do to him what they did to subzero....my heart nor my mental stability can take it.

There's normalizing and then there's just taking all the fun out of the game. Stop homogenizing the game NRS. Sometimes the shit that wasn't intended to be in the game is the best shit.

PS. Normals cancelling into specials was originally a glitch in Street fighter. It wasn't intended to be there. Now its a staple of fighting games the world over. Kudos to capcom for recognizing a good thing when they see it.

I disagree, the mix up off EX lift combo ender is still worth it.

You don't always have to dash under, you can delay the dash and hit them with a frontside f3 or b1 so you can still play dirty. this means they can't commit to mashing wake ups on one side or the other

Well, im overdramatizing to make a point. GL is still solid right now. He still has nasty oki off any hardknockdown. And Lanterns might, justby its very nature will always be an awesome move. No, GL is still solid. Its the future im concerned with. If they've done aall they done to him already, then what is yet to come? That's what im worried about. I've seen this all before with Subzero, its like deja vu

Also, GL's new optimized bnb's definitely alleviate some of his reliance on meter. getting 12% more out of a 1 bar combo is a big deal

Hey Kt what is his new bnb? I have not heard about that, and I do agree with you to a point, delaying that dash under as a mix up is an option but with the fact that b1 does not OTG anymore, makes it a very...questionable risk, but it isnt completely gone. And as for the hero cards most of them require you to have won a certain amount of online battles with GL
