I don't get what this has to do with anything considering Xbox Live itself is also free. Explain to me what upgrading to Gold to play games online does to magically strengthen the encryption (or lack thereof for all we might know) of your details that were already disclosed beforehand? Does refusing to renew your Gold subscription suddenly entice Microsoft to cease service of this security? Think about that for a second lol.

Two wrongs don't make a right, never argue with a fanboy, you'll only end up on their level.
You cant play online without gold. XBL is not free either.

I love how this turned into a console war. You all are idiots.

I have both versions and I've not experienced anything I'd consider lag outside of online play on ps3. It is true the game looks better on 360 tough.

LOL.. i was joking about the buy me 360 stuff.

I was serious here though..
I know you were being facetious, but it is a valid point. People are spending tons of money because of NRS and Sony mistakes. IMO, if NRS and Sony want to represent Injustice at EVO, we need a stripped down tournament mode. There's no other way around it.

Let me be clear, it is absolutely apparent and visually observable to the naked, untrained eye, that PS3's frame rate is unstable and when frames drop, so will inputs. It is NOT good. If there was a huge backlash against this, I would totally be like "OK, you guys can make your bed and lie in it." but this is NOT the case. It is clear that a 2 to 1 ratio of players demand better standards of play and I can't disagree with them. Because of the situation, I am going to do my best to cater to the PS3 players and make sure they can use their pads and sticks.

This is extremely short notice to announce what will undoubtedly and inevitably hamper and inconvenience many of those that will and would have competed. The large majority of the MK community, which makes up the large majority of the Injustice community, has long adapted the PS3 tournament standard. It was discovered that MK also ran better on the Xbox, however, to convenience those who would not be able to afford to switch, we stayed with the PS3. This is not to say that Xbox should not be the tournament standard for Injustice in the near future, rather, I am insisting that to announce such a drastic shift only a couple of weeks out from a large major is both irresponsible and inconsiderate of those who may have registered under normal pretenses. Announcing this shift only 24 hours before pre-registration ends? Outrageous. Lets hope that future tournament and tournament organizers are more responsible with passing on such important information.

Also, a poll reflecting the opinions of those that will actually compete at ECT would be much more persuasive in trying to legitimize what appears to be an obvious oversight.

The problem is, the decision has to be made at some point. Remember, the game hasn't even been out a month yet. The next excuse would be "PS3 was good enough such and such Major, why change it now?"

There would have been some kind of complaint even if it was on 360 out of the gate, before the game was released. There's definitely no oversight, the game is better on 360. I'd rather have players complain about the switch two weeks before a major than forever and always bitching about not winning or placing top 8, or making it out of pools due to the poor version of the game all these tournaments play on.

For the record, MK9 was known from day 1 (and before when we tested MK9), that the 360 version was better, but the poor performance for that game is avoidable to some degree. What we are facing right now is bad, VERY bad. It's actually more responsible to identify these issues now, instead of waiting until after the tournament, like people always do, and it's too late. It's irresponsible to release a game that doesn't perform right. This is why older console ports of games were so different back in the day.

New players were going to be inconvenienced by this decision either way it went, so I'm glad the best version won out and the precedent has been set early.

We all got problems to deal with, getting a converter is absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Remind me again, when did XBL get hacked? I'll gladly pay $60 a year to have my information safe as well as superior online play with better connections.

Stay free fanboy.
While recently they've done fairly well in the security area, they've had many serious security flaws in the past. Code red sql slammer I love u, etc

Yeah, the "short notice" point doesn't make sense. The game has been out for 2 weeks, it's not like anyone could have known the PS3 version would be so inferior before the game came out.

I've heard it runs better on 360 because the cell processor is more developer friendly on the 360. They make the game on 360 then port it to ps3. That's why most 3rd party games look/run better on xbox. But when you play ps3 exclusives, they are usually superior to that of xboxs'.

At least the next generation wont have this problem since sony is doing away with their own cell processing crap.

if ya want to read more on this, here ya go: http://kotaku.com/5889410/playstation-4-ditching-the-cell-processor-sources-say-which-leads-to-some-wild-theories

Microsoft was hacked plenty of times. They just cover it up better. READ A BOOK.
Read a book? God, you're pathetic. Nice try though.

Let me be MORE specific for you, XBL has never been hacked to the point where they shut down their service for months like PSN.

Again, stay free fan boy.

360 is a great choice imo. a stronger system with superior specs, a far less failure rate, idk anyone whos ever needed their xbox to be replaced, the dpad on stock controller is far superior then the ps3's. the dpad on ps3 is very wobbly and nearly impossible to get it to go in a precise direction.

I'm waiting til Wednesday to get an answer on the Cronus adapters. Ideally, I would like to have 10 so that all 5 stations will have them available and no one has to sit out of casuals and what not.

Are you aware if any modders will be at ECT performing dual mods? I would love to compete, however, it is imperative that I get my hitbox modded before competition begins.

Have to double check with Gummowned, he's usually at EC tournaments with another modder and they have constant work the entire weekend. If you cannot get your stick modded, again, I'm working on having Cronus adapters for all 360 setups.

Has anyone tested this adapter:

http://etokki.com/Xbox360/Xtokki360

It has self authentication and I am having a player who owns one see if it's good enough to have as an option for PS2 preferred players so they need multiple adapters for this event, however I'd like more input.

I know that Tim Static can vouch for this adapter, and I know that Riu48 has it and has used it for a long time. I can ask him to check in and give his review of the piece.

My recommendation is, instead of spending $80-$100 on a dual mod, buy a Cronus device. I have had no discernible lag or delay. The piece is $60 and will convert PS3 to 360 (the only converter I know of that does this) and 360 to PS3.

Now, with regards to this change:

Everyone needs to keep this in mind... at some point... SOMEONE was going to have to be the "bad guy" and make the change. Right now, tournament season is in full swing... think about it:

April 20 was Civil War
April 27 was Norcal Regionals and Project Injustice
May 4- was Toryuken
May 11 - OTE3 and EGP Vindication
May 18-19 - ECTV
May 24-26 - UFGT
June 28-30 CEO

Ok, so the ONLY real break in there is between UFGT and CEO... and at that point we have seen 4 tournaments on PS3...all with valid arguments and complaints about the PS3. So the fact is, had ANY SINGLE ONE of the previous tournaments made this decision, they would be the ones catching the flak for "not giving enough notice". At no time between April 20th and May 24th was there enough time to give reasonable notice.

So what's the alternative? Run the game on the PS3 (which, as I've seen personally) has framerate issues until after UFGT, when we've now possibly hurt the outcomes of 8 tournaments... and then listen to the complaints of "well, it's been PS3 for the entire season and this is the last before EVO, so why change now?". Or do we bite the bullet, deal with the complaints and do what is ultimately the best for the competitive community overall?

This comes down to the lesser of 2 evils.
1. Inconvenience some of the players with needing a new pad/converter
2. Inconvenience ALL of the players with an inferior port of the game

The TO's made the right call here. Yes, it's an inconvenience, but you have to draw the line SOMEWHERE. Many people may not see it that way, but that will fade over time. We're doing our best for you guys...

Don't think that this doesn't come at a personal cost either... it does:

KombatNetwork spent THOUSANDS of dollars to purchase brand new PS3 systems, MK9, and Injustice all for PS3.

PS3 uses gameshare, so 1 season pass would work for 2 systems, effectively cutting the $15 cost to $7.50.

Now, KN needs to buy between 6-8 season passes, one for each tournament 360, because you can't share the DLC to more than one system.

Shock has already said that he's going to buy Cronus adapters, possibly as many as 10 (at $60 to $70 EACH) to ensure that this transition is as smooth as possible.

Now, lets stop with the console wars... the TO's couldn't give a crap what system its on as long as it's the better performing system for the players because that's all that matters... you guys...the players.

Its the best Ps2 to 360 converter around. Only downfall is the company is in Korea, so you got a 2 week period on shipping. I highly recommend them and would endorse them given the chance.

While the cronus might be the only reliable option in coverters, IMO will always recommend the dual mod when it comes to sticks, hitboxes & even pads. With a dual mod, you're not putting anything performance based into the hands of something that could cause any issues. gummo, Vicko & DaRabidDuckie all do absolutely phenomenal work with dual modding, (i assume some of those guys will be at ECT) and I always recommend paying a little more to never have issues with this kind of thing again.

Just my 2 cents :)

You call yourselves pros?

I would love to see Tony Romo complain about playing in a stadium that DIDN'T cost 1 billion to build.

turf lag lol.

superbowl power outage lag.

Good players adapt to all conditions.

Bad weather generally cancels or at least delays sporting events. Football will play through pretty heavy rain, but I can promise you they'd rather not.

Just a quick update:

I contacted Cronus directly...but the problem is that they're in the middle of a company re-alignment and their site is shut down at the moment. We may have to just bite the bullet and order them at full price which sucks.

Don't panic... we are ordering some as early as this weekend and should have between 6-8 of them on hand for ECT5.

I DO, however, recommend that if you have a standard converter that you've been using for PS3/360 since MK9 tournaments, that you bring it and be prepared to use it just in case.
