What "dont" you like about the game so far?

I'm not that afraid of zoning really. Previous builds have shown that zoning does not do much damage. Green Arrows arrows do a whopping 6% or so. Deathstrokes guns the same. Couple that in with the long reaching dashes, and you'll cover half a screen by making a correct jump or dash. Just got to alternate it I guess, you can't anti air and zone to stop dashing at the same time.
His machine gun does like 16% lol

Not sure about his pistols though.
 
Hopefully dash canceling comes back to MK10 because its adds speed to the game like run in MK3, but they are trying to appease capcom kids here, and non of their games have dash canceling. Think of how much faster AE would be if it did heh.

It's been said before...you guys should have tried to play other fighting games. That's where the issue you guys are having with no dash cancel. You aren't used to it whatsoever, and it's awkward for you all. When MK is literally how you learned to play a fighting game competitively, the habits from that game come into play. Bring able to dash cancel, anti airs not being nearly as reliable.

My biggest issue is the meter ticks, like said. I think I should get the bar and it's there, but I don't...
This, I think lots of people will drop this game when the capcom players dominate them lol.

I think this game is great, and thats just from playing the demo, awesome feel to it,

THIS IS NOT MK9 PEOPLE!! It is called Injustice and it's a totally different game, pop in MK9 if you wanna dash cancel or if you think you know what footsies are,

I just hope that the timer goes back to 90 after you take one life bar. otherwise we gonna have alotta time outs. That is my only grip with what I have experienced so far, I have to assume the few other little things will be polished up in the full version.

you can't do normals or block to take yourself out of normal forward and back wards dashes man, thats what people are talking about. and I'm pretty sure AE doesn't have that,

if your talking certain characters comand dash moves, thats different,

Honestly from what I saw of a lot of demos, you can just set infinite time on deck and roll with it.

yah, the full game will obviously have timer options, but the game default is generally the tournament standard, it will all work itself out though. just my grip with the demo lol

Actually I wouldnt be suprised if they ran the 60-90-180 style of things where you have a time above and below the standard. I'll just be hopeful that they use the gifts NRS gives them.

back to block feels really good. Back dash invincibility makes applying pressure awkward when your normals are so short.

The footsies will evolve as we get used to the game so I'm not too worried there. Zoning characters like deathstroke with multiple hit projectiles will make life very hard for rushdown players and people who rely on armor.

The dash does feel awkward to me too. Dashing forward is NOT safe at all as you are highly vulnerable at this time. This leads me to believe that zoners will be very strong at first.

Batman will be soooooooooo good in this game. His bats allow him to dash forward safely to apply pressure. They also allow him to zone and make every unsafe move he has safe. I might just stick with him he is so good.
Arturo did say that the way Batman's trait works right now is broken and will be toned down in the final build.

I was just commenting that AE does have dash cancelling, but nowhere near as good or as important than MK though :p
and nope talking about normal dashes. Makoto was the original one with it as she could cancel any of the last 7 or so frames of her backdash into specials or ultra, but in 2012 they said eff it and just made her back dash those exact frames shorter.

Some others have them, but they are so minute they don't really matter(like I said its nothing like MK)

Ill go look for the list of who else had it for mr EXPLAIN over there.

All of these work with specials, supers, ultras and focus attack(no normals)
Honda forward -1f backdash +2f (thats right, when honda backdashes and if you buffer a special/super/ultra/focus in it's recovery his dash actually becomes 2 frames worse)
Bison Backdash -1f
Cammy Backdash -1f (she already has one of the fastest backdashes)
T Hawk Backdash +3f(Poor guy)
Cody backdash -3f
Ibuki forward -1f
Juri forward -2f
Yun Backward -4f (I hate this kid)
Yang forward -1f backward -2f (hes cool, I dont mind him)
Oni Backward -1f

So yeah not very signifcant, just saying it's there :3
 
Being able to dash cancel into normals would mean they have to retool the entire combo system because you'd be able to juggle off of absolutely every single hit into like 80% combos.

With that said, this build is what, like 2 months old? The actual game is going to be way different. But, as for what I don't like about the demo.

The First couple meter bars are too hard to see.
Batman's bat gimmick meter is too hard to see, "is that two bats or three down there?"
Walk speed
distance covered by jumping compared to distance recovered by back dashing
The dashes are too long and have too much recovery.
range on normals is tiny


Combination of small range of normals, long dash range, slow walking, back dashing covering more ground than a jump, and great AA tools means..... Characters like Kenshi win. Always.

I'm not sure it needs to if they go away on hit, he can't really turn them on mid combo, and activating after a knockdown is a waste of a pressure opportunity. The only way to use them in space is to run the risk of losing them immediately via projectile.

I'm glad somebody had the balls to say it and not everybody is on this demo's dick. The restriction of dash cancel is BY FAR the most detrimental aspect of this game. If Injustice keeps this mechanic than zoning and armored characters will destroy the rest of the field. It won't mean anything for Flash to have a 5 frame gab when he has to dash up on Doomsday who is already starting animation, wait 6 frames for dash cooldown, and THEN execute move.

Also as you said it will severely limit combo's because you will not be able to do a partial string into another string.

I'm really hoping we are missing something HUGE here.
But it is great though, because you have to be careful when to use your dash. This game is going to take time, practice, and patience as far as improving skills, because of how different it is from MK. And no one is "on this demo's dick" lol, many people commented on how the no dash-cancelling feels awkward and clunky, Tony was just the first to create a thread about it. Some people like the change, some don't...

well, if he kept them it would be horrible. The bats let him extend everything, by a good 15-20% and it gives him KL Spin esque protection. There has to be a drawback.

How am I being a demo fanboy? Obviously, some of you don't like the changes from MK9 but I do. I like having something new to try, of course there are things that are odd because I am not used it, but I am enjoying this game heavily. Stop being such a demo hater...

I love the demo, I just think there needs to be more conflict.



At this rate, Ares will be top tier for sure!
 
I think Tony's point is that without being able to dash cancel into normals, you can't do like 2 hits out of a basic 3 hit string and then dash forward and continue a juggle with a different string, which severely hinders combo creativity and pretty much just limits you to executing full strings instead.

There are tons of examples in MK. There would be way less BnBs and way less combo creativity without partial strings, not to mention cancelling strings into dashing forward into a throw will not be in this game at all.

Alot of the complaints about this don't really have alot to do with the fact that it's different from MK as much as they just seem to take away from what the game could be. Again though, what's possible would need to be re-thought completely if you could dash cancel.

Aside from that, i don't like the button layout. I didn't like the 3 button bs with Marvel and i don't like it with Injustice. I don't understand the need to keep reducing the number of buttons.
