It's not worth all the trouble u have to go through just to get your standard BnBs that would normally be a given. People trying to learn this game won't go through all that bullshit and will quit UMK3 for good upon coming across GJ/KJ without knowing what it is and how it works.....that number of people quitting UMK3 for good will INCREASE exponentially as people DO find out what it is and how it works.

We need to focus more on keeping the game alive/bringing it back rather than getting everyone at a higher level right now. The Skill-gap between players is already immense if u make a tier list of them. That's why out of all the entrants at Tournaments, it's usually always the same few people who win them, rather than the light being shined on up-and-coming stars often.

Idk about u guys being content w/ just scrapping UMK3HDR and saying "We're not re-doing a 17 year old game", but I'm not ok with that and their mind needs to be changed about it. Exposing broken shit and GJ/KJ, etc hasn't worked thus far, so believe trying this method will yield better results and get us what we deserve.

Old fucks like me made MK possible by playing the old games and feeding Midway(NRS) our Quarters and I don't feel it is right for NRS to just decide "not to make it (would mainly be just "FINISHING" it now)" to do that to people like us that gave them their following. We still want UMK3HDR and we need to get them to understand exactly WHY it's important, and WHY it needs to be polished up to give MK another more-tournament-worthy game. When u consider how good the game already is, fixing the minor things they would have to do is so minuscule, they wouldn't have that much to do in the long-run

DC Hustle quit playing this game for that reason. Maxter always wanted to give it a shot and we all know who Maxter is and his skill level as a fighting game player. He doesnt want to play the game for the exact same reason. I dont mind the jabs at all because I'm used to them. However, its totally understendable for a new player to quit or have no desire to learn them.

Btw I gave an idea some time ago about this. If you guys hack the gamr or have nrs "fixing" it...

Suggest that ONLY the first jab can be canceled with blk. The other ones just be as vulnerable as a whiffed normal. Why? Cause Kabal, Ermac, Kano and other chars with their specials would be BEYOND broken. Imagine that you cant bait a tlk slam or a cannon ball cause you will get hit by doing so. It will become a race or a hunt for connecting just the special that gives the most free damage. Lol I dont want to even think about ninjas and robots tleports.

It will be a random special movefest. Or the same as playing with no block.

Specials wont be OP. Players will actually have to block them on reaction instead of autblocking them.

UMK3HDR isnt needed. For the time and money, the only game needing that kind of treatment is MKT. Let MK1, MK2 & UMK3 be.

Hell take it a step farther and add MK4 characters and call it something else lol. Ok maybe not, but still, you get my point.
Read below for the best response to this^^^^ (aside from the LOL u gave me :p) Making MKT playable, balanced and tournament-worthy would require a SHIT-LOAD more work than a few fine-tonings for UMK3.

Exactly....the UMK3 Kommunity is cheating themselves out having more high-level players and attracting more talent. Who is being hurt by this more? It is US. The players who don't play it won't miss out on anything cuz they won't bother experiencing it. I played Maxter (AND CDjr.), both havet alot of potential in this game and the right people to play for high-level....DC HUSTLE quit UMK3? Do u guys have any idea how bad-ass he was even when he was rusty? We fucked ourselves, UMK3HDR is redemption and a a chance for new and better.

Yes you would, because one of the huge points of UMK3HDR would be to add start-up frames to his Spin. In turn, slowing Human SMoke's walking speed as well would balance better and make him like Ermac and not such an auto-easy-mode character as much

It would be a lot easier to fix blockjabs in UMK3 than it would be to fix (create) jabs in MK2.
I feel like removing the blocking and altering priority for a few of the specials (k-dash & other instant moves that lead to 40%+), corner pushback counter, and some kind of overhead would make UMK3 a great game.

True, but people should also have to be conscious of their aggression. With glitch jabs its a fearless pursuit with minimal consequences.

Hanzo I love u too man! I think that if run jabs are still used to pressure is a great thing because they look amazing! But the fact you can release block and interrupt the rushdown is even more awesome. Right now, everything u do gets auto-blocked...which I still dont mind but some people feel very frustrated when that shit comes to them...

You DO work for it, you both have block buttons. We are talking about severely limiting the use of BnBs. Why on Earth would you want a game centered around JABs, instead of BnBs? BnBs are the basic chemistry in a FG, not some damn jab you can do while blocking w/ no risk to expose yourself. It all just seems cowardly to me in a way.

You could still use run-jabs all u want, it would just be at a risk. Players would have to play smarter, but it's better than the alternative

Tim Static AREZ God of War - I say it would be fine to use the ideology of Trilogy, granted, we still don't know for sure if the proposed HD Kollection was gonna be a visual makeover and slight rebalances (like ST HD) or re-done from the ground up. In retrospect, I don't see where a HD Remix of MK1 would've went unless it was indeed a full remake.

it was supposed be a total refilm and then use those sprites in the games engine.

Okay cool, thanks for clearing that up, maybe take UMK3 as a template and just add Cage, Raiden etc? And fix the following:
- Remove all exploits to kara jab and glitch jab
- Remove the ability to negate throws with down and back
- Make JIPs/NJKs hit overhead
- Have Kerri Hoskins reprise Sonya and add anti aging effects if need be, lol

Balance wise, NRS would no doubt welcome Shock, Konqrr, Tom and so back with open arms to test it, but just a few ideas on how to improve the game fundamentally, feel free to disagree.

Why would you want to disable the throw blocking method?

Bro, ur awesome and I look up to you and ur a legend in this game, but you are one of so few people who actually like the GJ/KJ system. The rest of the Kommunity either plays regular, or deals w/ GJ/KJ for the sake of just not complaining, but even people who don't directly say the dislike it, most of them don't.

lol, why are people telling me to play Marv ft10 like I even play this game? I don't play UMK:3 and haven't played it seriously in over 10 months since MK:9 launched. I just play it at tourneys along with other MK games to SUPPORT it, nothing more.

If I were to train with the CD bros, Shock, AC, etc. every day and if we all went back into UMK:3 hardcore, I'm confident I would crush Marv with his own characters.

Why would you want to disable the throw blocking method?
To discourage matches being runjab orientated I guess, exploits or no exploits. And have your running meter drained on each throw to stop it being abused. Granted it might not be needed based on how overheads would work out, and new sprites are subject to change a lot of framedata anyway, we'll never know unless we see it in actual practice.
