It's just that it is harder for larger hitbox characters to duck, or duck-block and follow either with an uppercut Kung Lao getting some damage on him.

they will tell you its because they are so genius omg the teleports so well placed youll never expect it, instant 3! instant 3 they cry!

im sure they ARE genius and they ARE well placed, but its just good intelligent play. unless there genuinely a trick or something im missing, it seems people are just talking about common sense teleporting. be great if someone can clear this up

I cant get anything to jail them into it, I think its almost impossible for sz to punish it, but I cant get it to jail.
dunno how relevant it is but if anyone didnt know, jip>teleport3 is a bonafide combo, if im not mistaken. maybe this is what people are talking about. its served me well with mix up pressure at times.

Whats Kung Lao's best corner combo? Probably been asked before, but i dont feel like digging through 22 pages either. If it has, if you can redirect me to that discussion that would be great. Right now i am rocking:

jip 112 spin njp jump kick dive kick, 3 (point kick) ex hat toss, jumpk kick tele 3, 2 4 1+3 2. 50% for one bar. Is this good?

thats a good combo. you dont get much more % for 1 bar than that. but if you replace 112 with healing wind i think you will gain an extra 1 or 2 %. im not certain, give it a try though.
 
Its one bar for 48%, which can be 53% if you start with a tele 3 and nail the plum flower at the end. I'd spend a bar for doing more than half the opponents health bar.
preferences... 5% is not important enought to spend a whole bar of meter. Having x ray or breaker in your pocket is mch more important imo. in my case I would only use it if it would ensure the round.

You just said yourself it was 48% for one bar...

But I dont know, I ve been playing kung lao for a about a month now and havent even considered the best combos, ive never been a fan of spending meter for high damaging combos from the beginning. ive been focusing a lot more on his frame data, setups and safe and unsafe moves, mixups and I have also been researching what ''safe'' moves his spin can actually punish.

that is why this forum needs a lot more people, there is too little information about Kl on this forum.

which is why I propose a KL community guide. was i really the only one who noticed the magical disappearance of Tom Bradys "Revised Combo List" thread? moreso, i remember his post stating "Ill be back to share new tech and observations soon" - it wasnt worded exactly that way but he said something to that effect. then he deleted the thread?

we need a community guide and observations thread where OP updates the original post. i nominate myself, or gdf or PerfectMindGame to host the thread. basically take pride in what we can try to do for thr KLs out there. threadmaker would compile info regularly so the original post would be up to date.

If Im not mistaken youre using ex hat in your combos, the naked hat is 10%, how can it be more than 1o% if it is in a combo, when moves are getting scaled in combos...
Because the ex hat continues the combo past what you could normally do without it. It launches the enemy in the air and lets you do stuff like the jump kick tele 3 rather than just 1 1 24 1+3 2.

Learn how to apply pressure with D4 low hat. Use down4 to extend offence, or throw in a hat to keep safe range, baiting a jump in. Also there are two tricks for his 2-4 1-3 2. 1-3 is just the grab button. So go 2-4 grab button 2. Or another trick is rolling ur fingers round 24312 in a motion like using then d-pad.

Everytime they jump dive kick and always roll and spin its a combo starter if they jump and you dive kick roll spin. Also very important roll and low hat great pressure tool, or delay spin or instant punishable tho so be careful.

That's a good idea. Probably should prototype it first, and do like the Smoke forums do by using spoilers as sub-categories.

Kung Lao forums could probably be organized by midscreen and corner combos, then subsections of meterless, enhanced, then xray combos. And, after that probably just stick with bullet's because no one wants to go through spoiler after spoiler.

(Then, make some videos demonstrating how to do the combos so that people can get the timing correctly)

I see, I didnt know that. Im gonna search through his combos sooner or later but there is still a lot of stuff I need to find out about kung lao.

only reason i suggested PerfectMindGame and gdf is because you guys seem the most active on the KL forum among the few regulars we have here. im on here most ours of the day at work hahaha.
