Where are you guys getting the idea he wants Kano nerfed? NRS has said they aren't patching anymore, which means they aren't patching anymore. He also never mentions nerfs in the video.

Also he doesn't need meter to do that much damage because meterless he can still end in a hard knockdown and get to do another safe 50/50(which is what Pig's video describes btw). Those 50/50 combos add up. Plus he can build meter fairly easily. Db1 is now safe and hits from practically anywhere on the screen.

This just seems like Pig is making videos showing why certain characters are really good. He did the same for DLC characters when they came out. If NRS chooses to nerf that is on them but again...there are no more patches. This is really not that big of a deal.
Is that stuff about no more patches legit? I can't see how that's possible :p

One thing I will say is that Kano's EX Buff is slightly a risk reward. The damage he takes honestly can't be ignored, its ~15%, thats more than a throw, and he uses a bar.

When Kano does EX Buff, yes you're forced to hold some pressure in most cases, but if you block it you should consider it that you just threw him. The risk reward is definitely in Kano's favour, since if he hits you afterwards you'll eat more than 15%, but still that damage he takes shouldn't really be ignored.
If you hit confirm into buff and cancel it after your conbo, you will only lose 6-8%.

I also don't struggle building meter when I can zone and use safe block strings.

Kano is top 10 and maybe top 5. I see no reason to argue this because opinions are silly to argue. Tournament results will ultimately show. He does have bad MU for a couple reasons. And these are the only reasons anyone should mention.

1) lack of 6 frame poke
2) ice clone

Number 1 causes him to struggle against characters like shinnok, Mileena, takeda, but in time we might learn that b1, although slow, will eat faster attacks because of its properties.

B1 is soooooooooo good. I love its properties.

This has become a verrrryy tired statement. If I had a dime for every time I heard this I would be as rich as SonicFox. People have said what you are saying ever since Injustice (It'sJustAss).
Because it's true. Except it's even worse. Most of the high level discussion of the game happens in secret twitter chats and discord groups. There's literally no point in arguing about the tools a character has here because you get randos shitting on you. When someone like REO or Pig do something like this they ultimately get shat and blamed upon. I can't find any reason why REO would even open TYM at this point. Look at old MK9 threads and you have people who went on to become great tournament players sharing tech and discussing the actual gameplay. Now you come here and you find online people who have never played offline or anyone at a high level crying for buffs and nerfs. And no, you don't need to win any tournament or place top 8 at every major, you just need to show that you understand what you're talking about. When I google someone like Prim and I see someone with no neutral, someone who doesn't try to play footsies, do optimized combos, or mashes without understanding the frame data trying to tell us about how Kano's tools aren't that great, then it makes me want to just stick to the twitter chats and just ask Couch Esteban instead. But that doesn't help absolutely anyone but very few people. So who has this "elitist" mentality, TYM players who can never be wrong or top players who just got tired of arguing with people who get bopped in ranked?

Hey man, just because you don't understand the meta behind full screen whiffed uppercuts, random straight kano balls, and dropped combos into intimidating glares, doesn't mean there wasnt a thoughtful meta behind it.

Wow, this thread made the Kano forums (not everyone) look so paranoid and whiny. Pointing out a character is good isn't "crying and demanding nerfs" but sure, I suppose REO's/Pig's, etc tech videos are just meant to nerf characters and not help/stimulate the community, please drive them away....

I'm sorry but why exactly the lack of a 6F poke is an issue against Mileena? She is not a pressure character.

I guess I play Necromancer now.. PSN: ArmedCalf
My question was genuine... Why is the lack of a 6F move an issue against Mileena? If you are talking about her B12 then his D4 is his answer to it 90% of the times.
If playing Foxy has taught me anything it's that there's never a set answer to b12. D4 would work but it would lose to a slightly walked back b12 or armour wouldn't it. It's like a huge game of rock paper scissors

Yes, at the range that you can walk back into another B12 to whiff punish a D4 your oponent can also walk back out of B1 range as well. The mindgames are still there, but the lack of a 6F move makes literally no difference at all.

Maybe just to check it right away? Still messed up though, I try with Shinnoks and get beat

So people that go to tourneys don't have one?
No, i never meant that. He did retire from tourneys except for ESL since that's just online tournament and it's free money so he's 34 or 33. The man obviously must have a job, he's kinda old. And not only that, most people that go to tourneys aren't really his age or are alot younger than him like dragon, sonicfox, djt etc. So i'm pretty sure other players that are younger than him would have alot more time to practice, learn MU's etc. :)

Not really, maybe when it was +2 but her B12 mindgames are all about trying to whiff punish any poke attempt which mostly works at a long range (where you can also walk back out of it) or armor, you don't even need a 6F move to check it, since there's a 12F gap in between B12 into another B1. Let's say his D1 was 6 frames... Why would he use it instead of D4? His D1 would be way easier to whiff punish.
You don't really need a 6F poke as an option against her B12 mindgames, a good D4 will always be a better option against it. It's not like let's say... Kitana's 21 into B1.

noone is downplaying.

we all agree he is top 10 a very strong character, just he isn't what pig made him out to be

nothing he does isn't without risk.

he is a great character, but if he uses any of the so called tools, that round he won't have this so called damage or option to use any of the other tools he states.

you can only have so much meter.

and when has paying meter and health been a crime.

the comment on their he has got it all, is what got me. then stated can blocw up everything in the game.

when we all know kano needs meter for more important things that a hard read guess.

Correction: Everything he does it without risk
