General/Other - Tempest What +12 Means to Tempest Lao

So did none of you know that every pressure string into hat spin could be backdashed and afterwards the hat goes on cooldown? His pressure was not legit midscreen even pre-patch. But what do you expect when NRS doesn't let people learn.
Becuase scrubs cry the loudest lol

No, misinformation on what he can do. the ex hat is fine
The problem was never "Oh. hat is sooo useless now" the problem is that it was fine before and its just another example of how NRS patches things out that aren't actually a problem, much like ice clone nerf...

You do make a good point with the other post. But I defintely wouldn't count Imposter out. The hell spark pressure was not at all what made Imposter so good. It's the damaging vortex that he can put you in. Heck, if anything now the reduced advantage gives us an opportunity to bait armour moves. Once are opponent gets scared we can usually safely rush in anyhow. I hated the patch at first, but after taking him online it isn't too much of a difference.
But it helped Shinnok land those vortexes. Impostor Shinnok is very straight forward. If he jumps, expect a tp. All and I mean ALL his other tools in that variation are better on boneshaper. If Impostor Shinnok didn't made top 8 before this nerf, I have a hard time believing it'll make now.

In the Yomi tier list DJT says it. I dont know if this nerf is enough to change that.
it definately is. KL can no longer get the free pressure he had before.
Slowly but surely we're moving towards a state where the characters that have 50/50s will dominate.

NRS seems dead set on nerfing the pressure certain characters have.
Tanya pressure nerfed. Liu Kang pressure nerfed. D'vorah pressure nerfed. Kung Lao pressure nerfed. Shinnok pressure nerfed.

Honestly I'm not liking what NRS is doing with this game.

I agree with nerfing Tanya's tp invulnerability. Everything else were overnerfs. Liu kang... honestly don't know. Ex-SF should allow a follow up on combos like SF did before this patch. Remains to be seen since his chip is pretty strong in this variation. Kung Lao... don't agree at all. They should've nerfed his chip damage, not the pressure he had. Shinnok... I've already said in this thread.

But before you doubt me, remember that before these characters got these moves that had all that frame advantage on block, you had a top 8 dominated by characters with 50/50s. There's a reason for that. And unless NRS now goes on to eliminate those 50/50 by making either a OH or low starting string hit mid (if the character has both a low and a OH starting string), this game WILL go towards that direction. Mark my words.

According to my sources...
KL can no longer get the free pressure he had.
So you're welcoming free pressure where the opponent has nothing to do but sit there and block or block breaker. As for Tanya and D'Vorah, Tanya pre patch was able to spam teleport, run away, whiff jumpins, all for free. D'Vorah got a free 50/50 off of the opponent blocking, it needed a nerf. Are you even reading what you're typing?

gotta take it to make it

nah DJT told me tempest lao is still top 5 possibly #1

STRYKIE

Are ya' ready for MK11 kids?!
Takeda can sometimes backdash/armor through the last hit of 112124. The last punch whiffs and creates a gap. Is this known? It seemed like a breathing hitbox thing to me.
The string has various inconsistencies between each hit on multiple characters, I guess Lao mains just shrug their shoulders over it by now.

Sage Leviathan

I'm platinum mad!
Make me a mod for about 5 minutes and I will sweep the dung that gotten into the pages of this thread.
We're talking about KL's new Orbiting Hat and what it means for his pressure and matchups.

Then someone enters the ring with urine in their undies and a tantrum in their future.

Thus begins the needless ranting on such matters as Shinnok supposedly needing EXHellspark to be massively advantageous, Kitana having the best projectile, immaturely tagging Paulo when the man's busy wiping away the whip marks of the community's lashings, and insulting people with such cute whimsies as "hypocrite animal."

I also find it hilarious you remark on MKX's further descent into 50/50 madness when Tempest KL has no such tools.

@Zephyrus I am going to kindly ask you to either return to topic or leave the thread.
You have thus far contributed nothing to this discussion outside of taking a nihilistic approach to Orbiting Hat.
Now I appreciate nihilism myself, but I don't appreciate rudeness or a forceful opinion.

Continue pressure? What pressure? You have to mb on the first hell spark and you're obligated to use f+3 to continue the pressure. Otherwise you eat an armor move if you try to continue the pressure.

And did I hear you correctly say that a bottom 10 variation getting nerfed gets no sympathy from you? Is this the state that TYM, has been reduced to?

I don't know if your plankton size brain has figured this out, but hell sparks got nerfed in ALL variations. Two of them not even that great. One of them being bad.

All because boneshaper is really strong thanks to the buffs it got one week ago.

Jesus fucking christ this site. If it isn't parroted by a top player, nobody cares.
i don't know if you know what a bait is but i did mention that in my post. so i'll explain.
A bait in your case with shinnok is when you lure your opponent into pressing buttons (in this case an ex mover) after doing a mb hellspark, but instead of you getting hit you press that button you probably didn't have to press pre patch......its called a block button.

Thats when you punish them for doing their unsafe ex move.

look up how to punish on tym somwhere, i don't want to waste my breath.

You keep talking about how good boneshaper is than just use that variation if you feel like its so much better than imposter.

your character has 3 variations you might as well use them instead of whining about how 1 of your variations is bad.

shinnok got nerfed honestly because kung lao got nerfed and this whole thread was literally made so people wouldn't freak out about and how to get around it but i guess its your given right to come in here to talk about how bad your perfectly fine character is.
