i also own this app, and really like it. Not sure that all this work is needed though... unless you plan to update it all the time. NRS throw out patches around twice a month or so and will for a long time.

I would rather have a few basic kustom BnBs come with the app, than all the frame data and stuff.

Those would be very easy to add, if I had a list of these BnB's. I just haven't played the game much at all so don't know them, and I've seen the lists of combos in some of the character forums, but those lists are like 30+ combos long so I have no clue which ones are considered the BnB's. And I don''t really want to just pick and choose them at random, or add 30 combos per character, because at that point, they become useless since it's will be hard to find the BnB's inside the list of 30+ combos.

We can start putting them in this thread for your consideration... maybe in the UPDATE add a message for other people to as well. I dunno...

There is a youtube chan: ahmz1404 @ uTube that has tons of BNBs for beginners, not massive 45% combos that are impossible. Could be a place to start, I usually copy them form him into the app when I start a new character.

Yeah I mean if there was like some list of them somewhere, it would be pretty simple for me to add them into the application. I just think that BnB's should be a list of like 4-5 combos or so per character, not like these huge lists of 30+ combos per character. That would just lose the whole "BnB" flavor of it and would be lost on a newcomer. I'll take a look at that channel though and see what I think about it.

Anyways, I just submitted v2.3 to iOS with the latest patch update, the character forums link, the link to this thread in the prefs page, and the fixes for Takeda and Raiden that were recently mentioned. As usual, should be about a week before it goes through review process.

The thing is though, if there is a way to calculate all of this stuff, then if the equations are in place, once the correct frame data is out there, then it will be correct at that time.


Very glad that you heard my thoughts about Frame calculator and did it!
It gives your app an EXCLUSIVE and very useful feature that makes it a must buy app.

Some wishes:

1) Make a possibility to switch Move's name into Move's input (ex, df1) everywhere (in Frame data tab, in Calculator)
Because very few people learning Move's names.
How? - by clicking on its name or better by clicking on up column slot "Name" to turn names into inputs.

2) Move punisher (aka calculator) has a bug:
sometimes "Move" field becomes un-responsible, no reaction to touches.

3) Calculator - in "All moves" section no Kombos moves (1....... 1,2........ 1,2,3 for Scorpion for example), they are different moves (1,2 where 2 is another move than simple 2) and has different frame data.
> Add Kombo moves in Calculator - for Canceled attack feature (in your Calculator punishes are counting IF the opponent do not cancel his attack on block, but he CAN cancel his attacks into another attack and then frame data (and punishment) will change.

4) Calculator has issues and needs corrections - for PUNISHMENT w/o Cancels:
its very easy to do and then it will be awesome calculator"
1. Normal attacks has 1 frame penalty to launch from successful blocking.

Special attacks has not this penalty
> for special attacks leave as it is now.

2. Opponent can to block on last negative frame

5) Calculator may also counting is this opponent's combo a STRING if his 1st strike is cancelling into follow up strike (and then i am forced to block all strikes, because my blockstun is longer then his follow up strike's startup , ... and so i can not to start my move safely) - it will give a possibility know when i will be possible to move, to know when to attack and when to defend!
How?

7) Please, i think it will be better to change app style into more iOS7-8 bright style with think cleared lines and style, as i wrote before.

8) Question: what does it mean "Screen always on" (on/off) in your app?

I am ready to pay twice for such app.

P.S. Explanation to the STRING section - 5) from this forum (frame data is old and wrong but ok to explain):
How to find out if my opponent is doing a blockstring on me?

Example: Scorpion gravedigger (1,2,3) dial string

Scorpion’s 1 = Startup 8, on Block 0, Cancel 11 .

2 = 6 , -10 , 16 .

3 = Startup 8 .

1. Its a 3 hits string in MKX:

Each one of part of this string has startup, active frames, recovery, block adv, hit adv and cancel adv. You want to find out if there is a gap on this string or if its a true blockstring, this is how you do it:

BLOCK STUN = Cancel + Block adv

So standing 1 is 8f startup, on block is 0 frames, and canceling is 11frames.

11 + 0 = 11f Blockstun

2. Now you get that blockstun and compare if the startup frames of the next attack in line reaches (act) before, on time or after the blockstun fades:

1, 2 (the next attack in line) is 6 frames startup, meaning that it reaches the opponent before the blockstun of cancel block advantage (11F) fades so 1, 2 is a true Blockstring. And has a cancel advantage of 16 frames and a block adv of -10 frames.

16 + (-10) = 6f Blockstun

3. 1, 2, 3 (the final attack in line) is 8 frames meaning that it will not connect the opponent before the blockstun fades, so gravedigger (1, 2, 3) its not a true Blockstring there is at least a 2 frame gaps - where you can Armor move trough the last part of the string and expose scorpion for not know knowing this, making him less reckless and actually check your meter before doing that string again

First off, still an absolute must by for anyone that plays MKX. I look at something in it between every game. Thanks for all your hard work on it.

I'm also not sure why you have all that extra white space down there below the table, it should not be there either. Does that table scroll if you try to scroll it?

Also, can you try completely closing the application and opening it again, and seeing if you still have that issue?

And one last question - what phone do you have so I can try to maybe emulate it and see if I can reproduce that.

Yeah I've had people ask me about that as well and it is something I would like to do for the reasons you are asking for, however I don't have any time frame on when I can get that done at this moment, and July is going to be pretty busy for me unfortunately with my wife's birthday and vacations coming up.

No the table doesn't scroll, I can never get the "view this move" line to be fully visible. I completely closed the app and reopened it with the same results. I've also flipped through some other character's move punishers and I can't reproduce it in any other place besides Mileena if that helps narrow it down. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S6.

Yeah I've had people ask me about that as well and it is something I would like to do for the reasons you are asking for, however I don't have any time frame on when I can get that done at this moment, and July is going to be pretty busy for me unfortunately with my wife's birthday and vacations coming up.

When you go into another character, and there are like 10+ moves listed, do you get this error, and can you scroll the table?

Like the example I have in the listing (and screen shot on the previous page, the Cassie Cage example with a bunch), how does that work for you?

I am going to see if I can reproduce this for just Mileena on my end.

Well shit dude, thank you very much for finding this out - there was clearly a bug. Any move that you pick, that had 6-10 punishable moves, the 6-10 ones would have that, even for people with the Pro Version. In your case you should have been seeing a 6th move there.

I have just submitted the fix for this to Android and it should be available very shortly whenever it propagates.

I know it is to early for predator to be added but I wish that we could at least enter the kustom kombos for him.. you should unlock termor now... so day 1 we can start entering kustoms.

Awesome, I'll give this app a go.
It seems very handy when learning new characters.
Especially with a tablet or phone next to you instead of having to pause everytime to look things up.

I found a bug where I would use the move punisher for royal storm kitana and the app would crash.

Is this for iOS or Android?
IOS and from what i have seen it works for assassin too. It did not work for any other character that i tried. Is there any chance that you could possibly show the hitbox on the move or string in a future update or have the move punisher moves displayed as button combinations for example kitana's pretty kick could be displayed as Back 3?

Could you add which combos have overheads and lows in them and highlight which are launchers please? A "Pro" combo for each character/variation which is a combo used by a pro who plays that character. Like a SonicFox combo for Erron Black / Kitana?

For Cassie the kick abuse is labeled as down + fwd + 1, instead of diaginal down fwd +1.

For the low overheads in combos. Sub-Zero's Tundra states mid but it has a low in it. Cassie's Kick Abuse states low but it also has an overhead.
