I tried that with Takeda. It might catch someone off guard,
but you need to be at a perfect angle for it to work and even then they can escape it with backdash/jump ect...

Nope, that Kenshi B3 combo wasn't working for me unfortunately :(
Our combo section has combos back into vortex for both Kenshi and Takeda, haven't tried them myself. Of course we need to get it off of both b3 and f4 ideally.

I was going over Shinnok's basic footsie tools and I noticed that his B2 is now safe? I don't think it was always like this, was it?? I knew his B1 was, but not his B2. It has great pushback and Reptile couldn't reversal punish it with his ex slide.

And also his standing 4 is good to use as well IMO. It also had good range and pushback, plus it's +2 on block? With AI Reptile set to reversal ex slide, you still have enough time to jump over his slide on block.

Yep. That was a part of the fixed normals. At least it has its use now.

10:40, and the 2nd to last fight. Note that there's another where he fights the erron black and wins. The runback is the one he loses.
These matches were really good. I just feel like Shinnok is being outdamaged. He didn't land a single combo in the 30% range--does he not have those? He is burning meter and landing 2-3 strings for 20-25%... that's just not enough in this game where almost every character has 30%+ for 1 bar.

He has bad damage in general. Only way to get his damage on par with the cast is after he steals a move. He has no combos that deal much more than 20% without meter, the same boat Kitana is in.
 
so.. how do i play shinnok ? he doesn't have the best frames and stuff.. i tried to get into the character while playing classic towers on hard but i wasn't getting that far with him
 
I'm not sure if this has been brought up or if this is the proper place for it. Shinny's amulet strike can eat projectiles including Scorpions spear if timed properly. I'm not sure if this is just a trade of projectiles canceling each other out, but I just had to tell someone. Meter gained however I don't think is worth possibly messing up and taking damage.Perhaps EX gains more for the larger explosion to stop projectiles I'd have to check.

Yeah this is known but you pretty much have to do this on a read since Amulet Strike isn't really that fast.

Dashing, after his df4 hard knock down in necromancer, and doing b3 will stuff non-armor wake ups (tested on Kung' spin). Wait after the dash and do forward 4 flick for da mix up. If they don't delay wake up that it.

Anyone give me some tips on landing the teleport after a jumping 1/2?
I can't find a way combo TP from j1 - hit stun is too small. For j2 do not preinput or mash TP before attack, most reliable way I find to land it - is to do jump-d2-u(on hit) as high as you can. For Hell Sparks combo, you need hold uf after HSmb and input d2 when it possible to reach them at maximum distance(after around 1sec) then immediately input u after a hit.

Anyone messing with Necromancer? He can actually punish people running it now!! O.O
If people run in on reaction to db1, you can bd1b and it just strait up pancakes them while they're running
and ground sparks looks pretty good for zoning, now it can be mbed on block :D
I still don't think he needed a launching overhead though :/ it's a bit overkill, now he has that AND B2 being plus... I'll take it! *evil laugh*

I'm finding it hard to convert all the time off his B3 overhead launcher in Bone Shaper. Most of the time I'll try to do F2,2 afterwards, but a lot of the time it whiffs. I need more practice I guess. The other conversion I should try doing more is run, F3,1~DB2 or DF2 to change positions.

Anyone else having a little trouble converting consistently off his B3 overhead? In Bone Shaper that is

I have alot of problems with his f2,2,1+3 string in general online, I really really like the new Shinnok changes, but I would like to see some faster startup frames on that string, like 2-3 frames would be enough I guess, and its not like this string isnt -22 or something like that on block anyway. I cant hit f2,2,1+3 reset ender AT ALL online.
To your B3 overhead problem...b1~scoop, b1~shoulder should be fairly easy

Now that the patch is live for XB1, I'll be training with Shinnok again. I might go hard in Necromancer actually, I've noticed some potential, and I'm sure they'll fix the tracking issues.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if he they fixed the tracking on his flick and DF3 in Necromancer in the next patch.

Is there any point of doing MB amulet strike on block anymore when we can just MB Hellspark instead?

It's counterproductive to use it now. It is slow, so string like f224~exAS will have gap, while f224~HSmb not. It's less advantageous on block than HSmb, less total damage, less chip, less meter gained on block. If you train your opponent that you can MB it any time you can get away with non MB HS sometimes. Plus some opponents can be impatient and release block earlier or try to advance on last HS before MB.
*Edit: Forgot that you can combo of exAS in the corner, you can combo with HSmb too, if you MB first spark. IDK about damage diffirence.
