How do yall feel about Mileena's F1, 4, 3 string. The overhead one. I think it's alright but its uses kind of dim in the presence of strings like 2,1,U4 and B3,4. It's slower than both of them, more negative than 2,1,U4, and doesn't really lead to anything. It has more advantage though and I was thinking that the F1,4 portion of the string could be used similarly to the B3,4,Telekick mixup. Or maybe it could be used as an ender that leads into stuff. I don't know, seems like a solid string just don't know how to apply it.
 
the way it works seems like a glitch anyway I wouldn't be surprised if they remove it. it seems to good anyway imo. Being able to do shit that on hit goes to a full combo and on block leaves you safe seems silly to me.

True Im an advocate of removing It, but just in case they don't i would want to know how to use it/counter it
 
Well here's how they work:


Special on hit, nothing on block
0:47 - 1:30. "Making the game forget about inputs." Basically a glitch. Just mash directions after entering your string, and your special won't come out on block. Pretty dumb.

Nothing on hit, special on block
5:58. the window to cancel on hit is smaller than on block. So, you can cancel unsafe strings into safe specials on block. Or you can cancel normals into tick grabs only on block.

They should be removed.

I've been implementing some of the things that Pig of the Hut has been sharing. The punishment tech, option selecting etc. The strike punishing thing though can be a little difficult with things like B12 or F12, things like that. Any one else trying these things?

Because both of those options are not safe on block. If they get blocked, you're being punished hardbody. It's a great move, though. You have to be cautious when you use it. Like hitting them with it when they're walking backwards, using it on wake up or dashing backwards or blocking high a lot. Thing is you're taking a risk using it's not guaranteed that they won't block it. F4 by itself is good to use to punish, but it's not always going to work for punishment, either since the move is 19 frames. If something is like -8 to -18, then you won't score the damage.

Mileena Patch Notes

Mileena - Tele-Kick can no longer be punished on hit and will combo when special canceled into Air Sai Blast or X-Ray.
Mileena – Can now perform her X-Ray attack while airborne.
Mileena – Improved tracking on X-Ray

Thankfully, TK isn't punishable on hit anymore!
do you have info on it's new frames? Like can you combo after it (with something else than air sai)?
 
I wish they would've changed low sai to plus on hit, but the tele-kick change is a start.

My wishlist would be a plus on hit low sai, faster F3, and making a couple strings safer, mainly F234 and F44. D1 should be fixed but I don't really care since there's no reason, even after the fix, that it would be better than D3.

Honestly, I don't see them changing F3 whatsoever. Maybe 3 being an overhead is a possibility. Rumors are there's more patch notes to be released.
 
Yassss Tele-Kick being plus is a big plus for Mileena, now she can actually do pressure after it rather than immediately blocking after landing the hit. The improved X-ray stuff is great too. D1 should have been fixed though, regardless if it's her best crouching normal or not I still think it's a bug that should be addressed later. With all those fixes I believe this is the Mileena that was intended to be released. I don't think by any means that she's leagues better than before but these small adjustments really do add up considering at the end of the day consistency is what really makes or breaks a character. I feel like anything else would be buffs such as plus sais on hit or faster F3 or making one of her other comboable normals an overhead. However that doesn't mean she doesn't welcome those kinds of buffs considering she's on the lower tier of characters currently imo.
 
What was her low sai pre patch, it seems like its better on hit now.

46% f343 roll jik XRAY.
Any other string roll (jik) sometimes you need to jump back and kick then Xray that shit!! For 43%

You could always combo into Xray, it's just a lot more easier now :)
