Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 are arguably the most popular fighting games out (at least in the West), yet those two games are very unbalanced. Do you think the players want them patched? Of course! They even bitch about the match up disparities a lot, but it isn't nearly as vocal as with Injustice because CAPCOM PLAYERS KNOW CAPCOM IS NOT INTERESTED IN PATCHING THEIR GAMES, UNLESS IT'S TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF A NEW VERSION. With NRS, a nerf or buff can happen anytime

Have you seen the threads at Eventhubs about nerfs and buffs to both SSF4 Arcade and UMvC3? The UMvC3 one in July had 343 comments.

I work for EH so I am aware of the comment sections. My point is this. During those games, I dont hear a chat of "NERF THAT SH*T", instead you hear, "BEAT TAHT B****, or THAT IS CHEAP".
On the Capcom side, they at least hit the lab and try to figure something out. I just felt it was silly for someone like Tom, to be one of the more vocal plaeyrs asking for nerfs and them acting all EMO. As if he wants attention. Capcom tops players, mostly Japanes players, dont ask for nerfs. They again, go to training stage and figure it out, counter pick or then suggest changes. Not start room chants.

I gree, SM is kinda OP but not BA you scrubs need to adapt. No wonder all other communities dont respect us.

But he is Superman should be OP LOL. If this game had better walk speed or faster normals would change the game. Whiff punish is important in any fighter and faster normals would help punish tings in INJ. That said, low tiers should get some buffs. F23 is strong but if players had a faster poke to beat out the startup of F23, would Superman have such strong rushdown?

AE at EVO this year was won by a Gen, and last year's EVO champ brings out Hakan, of all characters, for matchups instead of Akuma. Also, some of the global top players from the US use characters like Guile, Balrog, Rufus, Zangief, etc, who are not exactly top tiers, either. Guile, especially.

This. People can say what they want about AE but diversity is the spice with that game. You don't know what the hell the top 8 is going to look like at a major or even a local. The Hakan putting was amazing also.

Walkspeed is key. Being able to cover ground because your character walks quicker is key to stopping a player from zoning you out. I have since day one said the walk speed in Injustice was bad. Its built more around dashing then walking down the chracter

Ok I dnt like these generalizations of the (INJ Community) at all because there are many who will hit the lab to deal with things and will be the ones taking out the superman players, the black adam players, and etc. If rico thinks BA isn't OP, hey that is an opinion and everyone is entitled to one of course. But like I said before, the nerf train just isn't going to cut it because that didn't help mk9 at all, like I said, UNIVERSAL CHANGES PLS. The two I want are mobility buff (for those who actually need it because some already move fairly fast), and for characters to not start the match so close to each other, these two things would change IGAU for sure and help the game out. Now interactables are a touchy subject as well, but we'll see how that goes in the future.

I will like to add something. And I hope Hec reads this or its pointed out to him and the rest of the dev team. The entire weekend during INJ games. All the chatter or chants on the side was "THAT SH*T NEEDS TO BE NERFED". Who were the most vocal in screaming out these statements you ask? Tom Brady, KDZ and many others. The entire weekned thats all that was heard, "Nerf Superman and Nerf Black Adam". Even during top 8 the crowed started to chant "Nerf".

As a fan of the game, I must say that it was sad to hear. It has become the norm I guess with the INJ commuity to request nerfs when something works against them. The dev team is rummored to invite the testers back as well as a few others to work on the final balance patch for INJ (as they will begin work on the new MK game). Tom spoke about it all weekend and he was very vocal about nerfing the characters he struggles the most against.

He was so "EMO" (as thats the term I heard used all weekend) after his lost that eliminated his as well after Rico won. You could see the frustration on his face. Listen closely to the bonus footage, you can hear Yipes scream out "DAMN TOM BRADY IS SALTY!".

The Capcom players were making fun of INJ players during discussions, Tom Brady as well, and just blurting out the word "NERF" randomly to get INJ players started up. I think its a bad look to the community if outsiders all look at you (INJ community) as players who ask for nerfs at every sign of a struggle. Black Adam and Superman are 2 of the most powerful characters in DC comics. Matching a GOD like Superman against a human like Harley was always going to be a issue when it came to "balance".

I hope the weaker characters get buffs and the top get very minor nerfs. Because the way it sounds, after the final patch the game will stay the same until it dies out.

This isn't the 90's where you have to deal with that kind of BS and this guy acts if everything is fine after he got scorpion nerfed into the ground. scorpion is not a shit character but the character got some unreasonable nerfs.

Play it out? people have played months against black adam, this guy played the scorpion matchup out for a week and probably only really played it for the first time offline at ceo.

well that is them, but that isn't "everyone", which makes that a generalization. There are many who if characters like superman don't get nerfed, they'll just find ways around his tools and will be beating those who use that character often. Also something can't be a fact unless it is "always true". If this doesn't happen with everyone, than it is still an opinion (or an inference/generalization). Obvious example, 2+2 will always be 4 no matter what. Yeah I do agree with you that ppl shouldn't be doing that because it is bad for the game, that is quite true.

you are right about that, plus how was scorpion so "broken" when he had bad mus still...... that is where the problem came. I heard ppl calling him ST akuma, I'm like that is some of the most illogical stuff I've heard when it comes to fighting games lmao. Vega in ST hopped around all day like a damn rabbit/kangaroo, yet he wasn't banned or anything like that.

This reminds me of Seasons Beatings 2011 when vanilla Marvel 3 was played and everyone hated Phoenix, then it came down to two Phoenix players mashing lights...crowd was going nuts lmao. Like, everyone saw how stupid the character was, but no one started chanting to nerf her. They just got mad hype whenever someone got rid of her.

I've never even heard of chants like NERF THIS CHARACTER in other games, actually. That doesn't really speak volumes about the game, but the players playing the game.

who placed high at ceo with scorpion? perfect legend, reo and cdjr and deg, and deg played harley quin just as much as he played scorpion if not more, so I dont know what you are talking about. so first of all ''the scorpion players not playing high since ceo'' isnt even true, second what does that tell you about the superman players at evo? I guess they are trash and superman needs to be nerfed right now according to your logic.

I agree with the fact that scorpion's teleport should have been made different, but if youre going to use the logic of playing things out then plenty of characters dealt with scorpion and he had weaknesses as well.

what I am trying to say is that rico is no different from the people who want X character to be nerfed because he does the same thing which is okay he wants to protect his character.

like I said, that isn't the case with everyone. Just because players decide to chant nerf and what not, that does not speak anything about the players playing the game because that isn't everyone. Also, everyone community complains about characters and I've heard ppl in other games maybe not chant nerf, but they definitely were talking about nerfing the character thoroughly.

Those were fantastic wins. Still, we are talking about Xian and Infiltration. Their overall skill levels are pretty damned high, and Xian's even talking about dropping Gen if he becomes too powerful. Lol, I wonder if he'd actually do that or not, but can you imagine anyone else making a claim like that?

Anyway, I stand by the point that it is not impossible to win with any character in those games, but they're still not balanced as far as match-ups are concerned.

Sorry, I meant my question about EH as a general one to anybody who was reading this thread. I'm sure you were personally well aware of the discussions.

As for the nerf chants, well, I agree with you. It's not something I would want to be a part of. Like you said, it most likely paints our Injustice community in a bad way.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a game with as varied of character designs that is also extremely well balanced without a good load of help from the system mechanics themselves. For what they are, though, they are well-balanced in the sense that there isn't a character that flat out doesn't lose to anything.

It's not just players, it's the well-know guys doing this. THAT is the problem with the chants at hand. You do not see this in other games. At all.
