I played fighting games as i grew up but i didn't get more involve in them until sf4 so i never really considered that i had a main. I just picked whatever character took my interest. Which is why you see none for some MK games that i've played.

Do y’all gravitate towards characters you’ve used in the past? Or is it since their gameplay is similar throughout the games, you’re more familiar and thus more comfortable? I think it’s both for me. Since Human Smoke in UMK3 is just a better version of Scorpion, I have used both characters whenever they’re in games. But, it’s also because their playstyle goes well with what I like and my strengths. Like, if they made Reptile play like Scorpion, I’d be maining Reptile instead.

I generally am a character loyalist. I switched away from Scorpion in Mortal Kombat (2011) because I was burnt out of the character, and went with Mileena because she was considered top tier in Mortal Kombat II.
