Would a new "banned kharacters" mode be a good idea for online?

How about a game mode where you play a character and so does your opponent but then after the match you both are locked out of that character so you have to switch. This processes repeats until all characters are used up and whoever has won the most matches is the winner.

I think roster lock events are awesome.. particularly with the variation system MK has... I have never been a fan of counter picking.. I often wish people would be locked into their character.
