Why do you main the characters you main today?

I keep telling myself I'm going to play Superman because truth, Justice and the American way. I'll get around to it...

I play Ken in AE because shoto. Also, because American character and America, fuck yeah. I played Guile in Vanilla but he doesn't lend himself to rushdown the way I'd like.

I love dualities/opposites in general and females just always look more badass fighting to me than men. Plus their stories aren't also so painfully bland(IMO) as oppose to a cliche alpha male seeking honor/vengeance.

SCV: never played the game till 2 years ago
Ivy: Fucking bombshell lol. Kinky I guess, but I immediately fell in love with the dominant personality and her royal bloodline. Beautifully done costumes and her weapon was so badass. I also liked her risk/reward.

Xiba: I like staff fighting styles and I thought he was cute lol

Tira: Fucking duality!!! And fighting with a hula hoop was just icing in the cake.

Viola: Sorcery and mysticism is another big fav of mine. And her look just drew me in

MK9: First "actual" fighting game I played
Sindel: I played only once before on my uncles PSP and it was MK3 and I used her. When I saw her in MK9 I just had to. The style, hair, scream, fireballs... Just yes...

Mileena: Beauty and beast and awesome style. Also she felt clicked so well and I fell in love with how balanced she was. Nothing you could abuse unless by pure reads(and even then its not abusing), fair damage, air control, unsafe specials(how it SHOULD be) and such a sexy x-ray.

Jade: Staff fighting style, though I wish they made her use it more and better choreography. Glow was pretty damn cool.

IGAU:
Wonder Woman: First DC female character I saw and fell in love. Great purpose that they have her serve and a really cool background. Plus her fighting style is just awesome(not in game, just generally speaking). In game disappointed me in her brain dead play though. The only time you really need to think with her is just to get in

HARLEEYYYYYY: FUCK YES! Just yes everywhere. I can't even describe her awesomeness that's how awesome she is. And she's one of the few in game like Mileena that rely heavily on reads and capitalizing on your opponents mistakes. No way can you pick her and just assume you win with just gunshots and MB cupcakes

Killer Frost: Love the ice, love the DC character but she disappointed in game. Just barely fun enough to use

Catwoman: Getting there, but she was amongst the only characters I planned on maining before release anyways. Love the whip, the sass, and mixups, though I sure would've loved if her game was beyond f1, f3, b1, and b3

All my mains are simply my favorite characters. Gouken in SFIV, Reptile in most MKs, Green Lantern in any DC game he's available, Adult Gohan in DBZ games, etc.

Mk 9. Mileena. Small hitbox. Can kinda do most things to an OK standard. Roll is fun to use.
Tekken. Changs. Annoying characters. Good throws. okish Mixups.
Injustice. Wowo and hawkgirl. Hawkgirl is just fun. No one plays like her ever.. Wowo is just a solid character. Exceptional when you think she doesn't really need meter.
What do they all have in common? Female and annoying.

If I played ki I guess I would play sadira!

Birdie in SFA2
He just looks cool to me. He also has that "Heavy Metal" look (which I'm a fan of the genre ). His command grabs were cool looking too! Even tho I didnt know what I was doing, so I would just mash lol. Give me a break. I was only 7 at the time! PLEASE Capcom!!!! Bring him BACK!!!

Feng Wei and Yoshimitsu in Tekken 4
This was the last Tekken I played ( I'm thinking about getting TTT2) but I always love the style of gameplay Feng Wei had. His overall design and that he didn't give any fucks about anybody or anything but his goal. The Ultimate Bad ass Villain!

Yoshimitsu...... I mean what do I have too say? He's a bad ass Ninja/Samurai that looks like an alien/Skeleton in a suit ...thing? Has a "Lightsader Katanna/sometimes a regular Katanna" his moves looked cool to me. I also loved doing that little dance he did with him hopping on one foot with his sword in the air! lol. It was fun too do to troll ppl I guess. I also really liked that his overall look would change completely with every Tekken game!

Fei Long in SSF4AE
I don't play AE at all really but when I did I only played one character. Not because he's GDLK but because hes some what of a parody of Bruce Lee... and I LOVE Bruce Lee! Also the fact that I share the same birthday with Bruce Lee. Which is awesome!

Kenshi in MK9
I like Samurai and Ronin warriors! I've always enjoyed Japanese culture and "The Warrior way" so to speak. And the fact he was kinda like a Jedi with his "Telekinesis" thing. He's moves also look really cool.

Doomsday, Lobo and Deathstroke
Injustice is my 1st fighter I've actually tired to get decent at. And Doomsday was just the perfect fit for me. He's easy too learn. One of my favorite DC villains and I actually really like his gameplay. The fact he doesnt need to do combos to win is also a good reason. I know that sounds scrubby, but... eh. IDGAF!!! Fight ME!!

When I was 11 I went over to a friends and saw a comic book in his room with the title "LOBO: The Last Czarnian". After reading it, I instantly loved the character Lobo. Instantly became my favorite comic book character. I mean...he has Telepathic Space Dolphins...from space..that are telepathic...that are his pets! How could you not love him?

And than there's Deathstroke. I like him cause he's just seems well-rounded. His combos are enjoyable to do and he looks REALLY cool in this game. Also the occasional "Salty XBL Voice Hate message" always makes may day better. Makes me feel all warm inside. You know?

Sub-Zero: The character I played and picked up on my first MK ever (MK3) and I feel in love with him ever since.

Smoke: He's one of my 3 secondaries in MK9 (with Rain and Raiden). I thought his gameplay design in MK9 was awesome and then I saw that @xSMoKEx vs @R.E.O. match...

Rain: Tried him a couple of times in MK3 and loved the super roundhouse kick, and when I saw he still had it in MK9 I didn't need a second invitation.

Raiden: Picked him up in MK4 as a secondary to Subby and I liked him as well in MK9. Spent a couple of months playing him in MK9 and got super good with him.

Nightwing: Well, where do I start... I saw Escrima Fury in the early promotion videos on YouTube.. BAM!! That was it I knew he was going to be my main. I learned later that he was actually Robin who I always thought was cool so that was a plus. The name Nightwing is really cool so double plus. When I first got my hands on the game and tried those swaggy multi-hitting moves I jizzed in my pants. Now I have so much fun with him I decided I am going to be a character specialist and I don't think am gonna pick up another character.

Super Skrull: genuinely my favourite villain ever. Never thought I'd see him in a fighting game.
Wolverine: watching Wong get in dat ass made me want to pick him up. EZ mode character.

Batgirl: Sticking to moving from original mains (GL), I now main batgirl because vortex. That and teleport for counter zoning

Wonder Woman: Only recently picked her up but BOY AM I HAPPY. 40% meterless damage, crossovers, lasso spin quick stand tech, UUUNNNHHH

Green Lantern: Used to be my main until I realise he relies on mixups a lot and doesn't do particularly well against zoners

MMH: Zoning, teleport, decent damage and orb setups

Superman: Average zoning but gorgeous crossover dive otg setups

Lex: Keeping you out with like three things at a time, corps charge, trait

The rest of the half: 'Cause I feel like it. Awwww yeeaaahhh

My first fighting game character played was SF2WW Chun-Li... I was mystified lol

After that, I got hooked on MK and once I saw that Sub-Zero could freeze his opponent, I was done looking for characters. I played Chun-Li (Guile) and Sub-Zero (Kitana) all the way to MK9 where I let @Tom Brady have him and moved on to Kitana.

I also love to play characters that make people rage... which is why I love playing Kabal in MK9 and Frost in Injustice.

I honestly just play who I like regardless of tier placement.

Most of the characters I like are really off the wall and quirky. I also unintentionally seem to always have a male and female duo as my main and co main for almost every fighting game I play .

Kitana - I've played as Kitana since she first appeared in MK2. I don't know what it was about her that drew me to her, but I've stuck with her ever since in every iteration of MK that she's been in.

Doomsday - This may seem kind of odd, but I had no interest in playing Doomsday at all until I saw the Perfect Legend vs Chris G grand finals at VxG. Catwoman was my main at the time and I was starting to get really bored with her and the game in general due to this.

After seeing what Doomsday was capable of and played like, it sparked my interest and I took him to the lab. I've been playing him ever since and I don't think I'll ever stop.

Tekken (gold are my favorite fighting game characters):

• Picked up Hwoarang because he had a grab move that he snapped your neck with his leg. Also has multiple stances and his flamingo mixups drew me even more. Also, he was pretty cool in tekken 3
  
• Used Steve fox after seeing his gattling gun. Plus he's a badass british boxer
  
• Used Baek because he's hwoarang's trainer + flamingo mxiups
• Lei Wulong (many stances)
• Leo (many stances)

Mortal Kombat 9:

• Subzero - saw tom playing the character and liked his play style. I also hate the living crap out of scorpion, so I guess I'm pretty much drawn to him.
• Kung lao - just a fast paced character
• Jonny Cage - "JOHNNY CAGE!!" "I'm taking you out....taking you out...taking you out...." Need I say more?

Injustice:

• Batman because he's the ruy of the game
• Bane - said I wanted to use him prepatch because I didn't see much of him. Now he's getting top 8 left and right
• Shazam - because Bane is hella good. I wanted to use some of the lower end of the spectrum

KOF:

• Terry - Ryu of the game, plus his supers are freaking hype!
• Ralph - used him in KOF 98. Also his gattling gum is pretty sick
• Kyo - Also feel's like the ryu of the game as well
• Joe - used him in KOF 98

 

[SZSR]

MK9: Sub-Zero, Smoke and Rain. I really like them as characters and I liked how they played in this game.
INJ: Shazam because I played Captain Marvel in MKDC so I mained him again and liked how he played.
Tekken: Eddy, Law and any derivation of them. They were masher friendly to me in TTT1 and I kept working at them cause I liked them. Feng because I hate Asuka.
SCIV/SCV: Raphael, because he's cool.
DBZ: Trunks and Cooler, also because they are cool.
Marvel: Phoenix Wright,Deadpool,Doom is my main team. PW cause I like him from Ace Attorney, Deadpool because he's Deadpool, and Doom because he's my favorite Marvel villain.
