Evo is the biggest fg event so majority is a questionable statement(majority of who?). We don't know how big it will be. I hope it'll get another season.ESL doesn't have all the weight but they damn sure have the majority right now. I just don't understand why people would not want to back the league backed by the developer.
It's geared towards FG players in general, SF being a tradition there is because of it's large playerbase. Just like now two smashes are their because of theirs. Regardless of it's most popular game it's still a prestigious tournament for anybody to win their game at.You're talking to a TO, I'm well aware of the costs assosciated between migrating platforms. In a perfect world we'd all be switching to PC (something I still research because it eliminates the whole stick argument but I'm sure people will find something else). Also EVO is the biggest Street Fighter event, it will always boggled my mind how people keep trying to validate their game at an event that is geared towards Street Fighter players
All of this ^. I've been preaching this for awhile now. This is the first time(I'm aware of)that NRS has completely backed something to the point they want their community to participate and are willing to stream the tournament themselves. Sure, they have added to pot bonuses in the past, but it's not the same thing at all. They may never back grass roots tournaments the way we hope because so many things can go wrong, whereas ESL is a top tier organization. @CrimsonShadow gave a pretty solid post to why that hasn't happened and it's flat out true.ESL doesn't have all the weight but they damn sure have the majority right now. Maybe the two finalists of the Mortal Kombat Cup playoffs in Paris? That makes 14, where are the other 2 going to be from?)
FT1 bro. Anything can happen lol.Hahaha.... Age limit for NA league went from 18 to 17 ;p
I'm not sure how the $1k is broken up, but the top 16 finals is where you want to be. $50k in cash prizes....I mean come on. lol.How much of the 1,000$ prize money do you think goes to the winner of the weekly? Because, even if they just win half of them, someone could win a couple thousand dollars by the end of the season from weeklys alone. And, if I am correct, they are free to enter and online only. Which means that there is no risk from participating because one does not have to pay travel or entrance fees.
This might be just the push I need to start playing competitively. See you guys in April.:16Bit
Oh for sure, you definitely want to aim for the top. But it is nice to know that you can get some cash flow along the way.I'm not sure how the $1k is broken up, but the top 16 finals is where you want to be. $50k in cash prizes....I mean come on. lol.
Here's the problem with that, none of these E-Sports venture have ever lasted a year+ & I really doubt this one will either.IMO the community should invest itself into the joint venture by ESL&NRS and standardize the console across the board to mimic theirs
That's entirely the communities fault and is something we can change now. I think this has the opportunity to be more successful than MLG because this is heavily based online. NRS will probably start mentioning it on streams soon and that will help boost numbers for sure. Here's the problem with that, none of these E-Sports venture have ever lasted a year+ & I really doubt this one will either.
Well I am doing my part. I just signed up for all of the preseason cups and the first two cups of the regular season. When I get the game, I am not sure I will be able to stop playing lol. That's entirely the communities fault and is something we can change now.
