What Teams Are You Looking To Use?

After day 1, haven’t labbed almost the entire roster. I completed those bum ass combo challenges though, but that was short term memorization, didn’t really learn too much.

Anyway, my day 1 team seems like it will be:
1. A.Gohan
2. Vegeta (SS)
3. Goku Black

These characters are easy to learn and are all very similar. A.Gohan’s masenko into Goku Black’s assist is good for zoning and damage. A.Gohan on point is a must, his assist isn’t too great. Vegeta is a must on my team because I’m the biggest Vegeta fan, lol. But he’s actually really solid. Nothing crazy, just solid.

We shall see how my teams progress. I will revisit Hit later, he’s way too awkward and complicated for my noob brain, lol.

I'm picking the game up tomorrow. And I haven't really been paying attention on how some characters play and all that.

First of. Piccolo is my guy. So he's on the team 100%. Gotenks and 16 are the ones that will fill out my team as of now. But will they actually have synergy with Piccolo?

With that said I'm also interested in Hit, Kid Buu, Majin Buu, Tien, Ginyu,Trunks and Beerus.

It feels wrong having two Gohans on the same team lol so I've chosen Teen Gohan. Rn Trunks is my point, I just need one more character to complete the squad.

I think I have finally figured out my team.

Running Ginyu as my point to build meter for Gohan since his supers suck, and he has some dirty stuff with the Ginyu Force. And once he gets rolling with setups, he has a snowball effect. Also combo'ing his overhead using the Ginyu Force is really good!

Goku Black is my mid. He is the well rounded and the character I focused my team around. Really good assist.

Adult Gohan is my anchor. Great combo potential, greal lvl 3, overall he feels really good. Also im finding some great utility for his assist and it's not nearly as bad as people say it is.

I'm rolling with Gotenks, he's just too damn legit not to.

Not sure who I'm packing with him yet. Found some NASTY synergy between Gotenks and Tien / Cell, so it's looking like I might have to roll with one of them.

Yamcha and Tien are my two main team members right now. Absolutely loving Yamcha and how he plays. Trying to think of a good 3rd that will cover any area they lack in. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm also using Yamcha. Have you tried using SS Vegeta as a third? His assist can pin an enemy if they are blocking, allowing you to mess with them using your Wolf Gang Fist. You can cross them up, or cancel out of it to catch them pressing buttons.

I'm actually struggling to find a second for this team. So far Goku Black seems like a good fit--anyone with a beam assist would do nicely, I think.

Will definitely have ssj on my second team, probs w A. Gohan too. Really wanna rock ssjb first though. If saiyan saga or majin Vegeta we’re in it’d be a no brainer all prince team oc. Even if their synergy was low tier.

Settled on my team. Piccolo / Gotenks / Cell.


Gotenks has sick pressure with quad ghost super negative edging, and he has a lot of high low mixes with the beam and other setups that I've found. He just gets keeps on going. He's basically my my core character but I feel like Piccolo is much better at getting the game started and set up for me. Piccolo has great range, and also has a lot of cross ups and grabs, but finding some assist set ups is key with him, as is using his to help him in combos.

Cell is just a great all rounder character who does everything really well, hits like a truck, has great synergy with the team and his assist provides so much. Keen to iron out all my combos with everyone now and find some real dirt



I will say, there's a few characters who just look like so much fun who I'm a little jealous of. Mostly SSGSS Goku. But aye can't play em all

I am running Hit, Krillen and I have not found a third yet but I am gonna have to choose based on the assist. I think krillen is going to be a hidden sleep once the meta fleshes out.

So I’m thinking ssjb vegeta and adult gohan. Who would y’all recommend for meter building? Preferably with a good pressure assist (or multi-purpose ideally)

Got the game last night, that is the first non-NRS game I've bought since Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, and it looks good so far.

I'm gonna use the team of Green and Purple: Piccolo, Beerus and Cell. Not only I love them as characters, but their gameplay and/or movesets actually have at least some resemblance to Reptile, believe it or not.

1) Piccolo, who is my all time favorite DBZ character, is at front, from what I've seen he is great for that role. Also he has 2 moves that were inspired by Reptile: The Homing Energy Blast (by the Slow Forceball) and the Demon Elbow (by Reptilian Dash). Yes their properties are very different they close enough. Also his S attacks kinda resemble Scorpion's Spear.

2) Beerus has his Spheres that he can shoot at different angles and speeds, allowing him to control both the space and the pace of the match, again similar to Reptile's Forceballs. Yes they have very low priority and the 6 Spheres has a bit of a startup, but you don't have to use just the 6 Spheres version, you can also use the version that has only 1 or 2 and still get the Zoning and pace control. Not to mention that the 6 version cal still lead to some very cool setups, and it seems Beerus can also his unique medium kick that covers 3/4 of the screen not just for combos but also for mobility, another resemble to Reptile's Reptilian Dash.

3) Cell is my Anchor character, he seems to have all the tools he needs to be an Anchor char. also just like Reptile, he is a super versatile jack of all trades who has the emphasis on Zoning and can also change his approach and playstyle according to the MU. Not to mention that he is also one of my all time favorite DBZ chars.

I've settled on 2 teams.

Kid Buu/Android 21/Goku Black.
Kid Buu is just so nasty to use on point while switching Android 21 to steal moves and getting those bars. Using her or Goku Black as anchors is disgusting.

My 2nd team I'm building on is Yamcha/Tien/Goku. Still thinking of using Krillin instead of Goku and having Tien as an anchor and Krillin popping in and out in between the match.

Pretty settled on A.Gohan as point, he’s just really solid. Goku Black as anchor is also working out well. Vegeta is decent but I’m not getting much use out of him. May switch him out for someone else. I really hope the leaked DLC is true and Vegito will be in the game.

Yeah, I've also started to realize that Yamcha might be better on mid than on point. His assist is a lot better than I initially thought. When I get home tonight, I think I will be trying XX, Yamcha, and SS Goku/Goku Black. Maybe I'll be super basic and throw Android 18 on point. All the cool kids seem to be doing it.

Found the same thing with both Gokus tbh. I suspect I’d think the same of ssj Vegeta if I could actually get down off his dick for a moment, but I don’t want to. Playing him alongside Nappa and Piccolo though, they both play quite differently, so plenty of variety overall.

Got my eye on Beerus for a fun team once I’ve improved a bit more. His zoning looks so fun, but hard to apply.

Doing so beats reflect spam and holding block, but loses to mashing


but holding special (5Sx4) instead of anytime you could have gone for the grab is a frame trap and will catch them for trying to beat it out

felt like a true 50/50 but it depends how reactable cmd grab is i guess, i cant really tell at this point i havent been on the receiving end. Its definitely not the fastest cmd grab but i dont think ppl will react consistently to it

Vegeta assist made it an easy conversion as did Yamcha's in the corner

I kinda wanted a universe 7 dream team of ssjb Vegeta, ssjb Goku and Beerus. But their synergy was kinda buns unless I’m missing something.... Gokus assist in particular was difficult to utilise iirc.

I think you can use Gokus assist to give Beerus the ability to get knockdowns which is key to his game so it's something.

However you give him that ability and as well as damage off a real assist like Vegeta's.

The two Blues both have bottom 2 assists in the game.

I don't think that's a great team either.
