Yes tournaments are a big factor of who the best with a character is, if you're consistently placing the highest every single tournament with said character (ex: 16bit Catwoman) then you're obviously the best

But honestly what would really say your the best with a character is going through a gauntlet with somebody. In tournaments people can argue xyz had an easier path or so and so had easier pools or matchups to top 8 or whatever. But in the gauntlet both contestants fight all the same people and have the same exact path. So there is no arguing or excuses

The gauntlet is the way bro. Plus it's fun and hype

I don't think that will happen, lol, but I don't understand all the confusion. I personally could care less who is the best with their character honestly. But for the people that do, it has to be tournament results. No other way. If you can't travel to every tournament, tough titty. Thats just reality. I'd love to be the best and go to every tournament, I just don't have the time and money. (Work/family) and I accept it. But if your not basing who's the best from tournament results.. what's the point of having them then?

Edit/Ps:
Whoever is placing the best with said character does not discredit all the other people using said character.

I mean if you're talking to someone who obviously doesn't place any significance on the whole offline tournament scene of course they're going to say online matters as a determination of "the best". That's all the competitive aspect is to them. To be honest though this sounds like some sort of weird context specific argument behind the scenes about shit I don't know about.

By playing Harley Quinn who due to recent community tier list has no winning MUs only 5-5s and worse making her the worst character in the game and making multiple top 8s across the games life span. Clearly dubbing @AK SaltFace as the best Injustice player ever.

You can all hold that. That's what this was about right? Who the best injustice player is?

i don't know how it would work, but i challenge Thy @HoneyBee to a Gauntlet MM...... or maybe not for money idk its up to you. Gauntlets are tricky, not saying i don't trust the players playing in the Gauntlet, but what's stopping someone from being like yo Zyphox i'll let you win 10 - 0 if we split....... there's already a lot of Collusion in our community. Anyway we can do this then i guess, just know that 2nd player through the Gauntlet will always be at Disadvantage so we should play a FT2-3 to determine who gets First? i'm not even sure how this works lol

No such thing as the best because on any given day someone can just body the best. In my opinion, a tournament just shows you were the dominate player that day. The only way is what @FOREVER KING said. Throw dem NIKKAHS in the Gauntlet and see who survives.

The gauntlet argument is complete nonsense. If superman has to prove to metropolis people he is the one while his devil twin says "I'm the real one", he wouldn't say "well, let's do a gauntlet and see who can beat the best villanis: zod, lex...", NO, he wouldn't propose a fucking gauntlet, he would fight his twin to death (maybe not to death) and prove to everybody he is the real and only one. Mirror matches is the way to go. So you can win a gauntlet but not against the char you MAIN? your real RIVAL? Then maybe you are a better player but NOT the best real only one "*insert char you main*".

Not money matches, not FUCKING ONLINE, and certainly not the sole opinions of those "leaders" in the NRS community. When did it become ok for online to determine who the best was. I play online less than 3 hours a week. Most of my time is in practice mode. When I get online I suck...always have. Its how I train. I just don't get it! Maybe people can explain this to me.

All I want to do is perform at tournaments and that is all ANY high tier player should care about. Money matches are a fucking joke...ISN'T A TOURNAMENT A FUCKING MONEY MATCH?????

Anyways. All these threads the past two days have been pissing me off. does anyone even read Zyphox posts anymore? I know I don't!

I respectful disagree. You can win a mirror match but that doesn't mean you have the more superior knowledge in other MUs. Example, I can do crazy well against MMH and someone in my community gets bodied free by that same player using MMH. Being the best should consist of MU knowledge and how well you also do OUTSIDE of a mirror match. That being said I still dont think there is such thing as the best, only whose relevant at the moment. But what do I know suck and I'm the appointed leader of the Nova Corp.
