The unfortunate thing is Microsoft is only concerned with selling consoles, so I'm sure they don't care if you buy MKX for PS4 & PC over Xbox One. But I agree with you on starting to regret purchasing an Xbox One. A number of things have not sat well with me since its release:
  • Being significantly underpowered compared to the PS4
  • Not being able to reach 1080p on certain games while PS4 has
  • Losing out on Street Fighter V
  • Not being able to keep Titanfall as a console exclusive
And now there's this nonsense with the last gen fightsticks. I think come next generation I'm going to jump ship because I don't think Microsoft gets it anymore.
I have both consoles, your're not missing much if you only have an Xbox One. I can tell you that I spend more time on the X1 than I do with the PS4. I do like Guilty Gear and GTAV on my PS4, but the 1080p thing is not an issue. The Xbox One upscales the games anyway and they look really good. I think the PS4's frame rates struggle a bit on some games because of the forced 1080p threshold. The Evil Within comes to mind when I say that. It's not as if the PS4 has a top notch graphics card. Neither system does, but I can grantee that in time, both consoles will have stellar looking games. Consoles have a bit less overhead on the CPU/GPU than the average PC when running games. Their constant hardware architecture makes them much more predictable, performance-wise and can be optimized a little easier over time.

With the drm policies, always online, and no used game garbage, I pretty much set myself on Sony again right there.
What? Xbox One has DRM policies? Since when? It has to always be online??? Since when?? My internet went out for almost two weeks thanks to my crappy provider and I thoroughly enjoyed both my Xbox One and my PS4 without internet connectivity. Once my online service came back, it was crazy to see just how many achievements I had unlocked while the Xbox One was offline lol!

No used Games??? No, say it isn't so....oh yeah, it isn't. I've bought used games and they install on the system just fine. Where on earth did you get this information from? E3 2013? They reversed all that crap within a week of those dumb ass ideas being talked about. Do you honestly think that people would be buying Xbox One's if they did not work without internet or had any of those policies? To be honest, both consoles need a one time update to be functional but that's it.

I know they reversed it all, but all that bs was enough for me to go back to Sony. Besides, the ps3 exclusives I missed were all better than all the 360 ones I didn't.

I agree with you that at the moment there isn't much to miss out on if you have a Xbox One only, but at this rate I fear that due to Microsofts bungling of crucial business decisions all of the great exclusive games will be on PS4. When I had an Xbox 360 I didn't feel this way, and although I missed out on Metal Gear Solid 4 I still didn't feel the regret I do now. I have Titanfall & Killer Instinct and both are great but 2 games aren't going to save the console in the long run.

As far as the whole 720p vs 1080p thing, here's my take on it. In a lot of ways its just a formality, because unless you have a very big TV most people won't ever notice the difference. I've never once looked at a PS4 port of the same Xbox One port and said man the PS4 version looks significantly better. However, from a principle standpoint the Xbox One, at least when I purchased it, went for $100 more than the PS4. At the very least both systems have to perform comparably, but because the Xbox One cost more at the time it should have performed marginally better. Theoretical assumptions I know, and there are hundreds of different things from a technical standpoint that factor into performance but come on man....for $500 in 2013 there was no excuse for the console to not be able to reach 1080p, absolutely none.

Why should I pay $500 when your competitor offers a system for $100 less that performs better and doesn't have the limitations of your system? Oh that's right because you have "better games". Well I used to believe that but I'm starting to think that Microsoft is going to lose out on some great games because of the way they've been conducting their business dealings lately. I don't mean to turn this thread into a Microsoft flaming board but this latest thing with last gen fight stick support is like almost the final straw with me. If Microsoft said they're going to support last gen Rock Band peripherals they should support last gen fight sticks as well.

Very good points indeed. Believe me, I feel the same way you to to a degree. The only difference being that Microsoft was smart enough to get rid of the idiot who set their train on the wrong course, Don Matrox (spelling?). That guy single handedly ruined the Xbox brand for millions of consumers. I also agree that MS selling the X1 for a premium price was a mistake. The could have taken a loss of the camera and just charged $399.00 for the system and the kinect. No one would have complained, even with the slightly weaker GPU. The 360 has a weaker CPU than the PS3, but no one cared because the games were solid.

But since they didn't you are correct, why should I pay more for a system that does less than it's competitor? I found my reasons when the system dropped to $349.99. I'm the type of gamer who does not like to miss out on an experience. Regardless of the mistakes that these console makers have made in the past, I seem to find a legitimate reason for owning them. Sony, with it's "Giant Enemy Crabs" and it's $600.00 price tag won me over with a price drop and some really good games.

Microsoft with it's incredibly stupid policies and over priced, under powered system compared to the competition won me over with a price drop and some really good games. Do you see my pattern? Lol! I don't hold grudges. Grudges will keep people from getting the full experience they otherwise would have gotten. If you can only get one, go with your heart, you still won't be disappointed either way but you will miss out in the end.

Pretty ambitious question, but my questions never get asked anyway.

"Has NRS done anything to improve the netcode from the previous 2 games? If so, what specifically?"
I did more or less the same question.
I am sure he wont answer...but the fact Larry meets Boon its a good notice for Xbone owners, MS perhaps has specific plans for MKX or at least he cares about the game

Also, in terms of online stability I trust more on XboxLive than PSN. For an european like me, netcode its the key, and the fact that XBone wont have region lock is important too

This was the exact thing I said to myself when I found out that the $399 bundles did not include the kinect. Right there, at that moment, Microsoft killed the kinect...all the millions they spent in research & development were now all for nothing. Kinect 2.0 wasn't perfect but it was a step in the right direction...why not just basically take a loss on each kinect unit so that research & development could continue? Who knows maybe some developer out there could finally develop that killer kinect game we've all been waiting for. But no that wasn't the case...and on top of that they expect to sell the units individually for $150? LOL I'm not surprised at all that Microsoft continues to be behind Apple when it comes to technological innovation.

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
I have one, I'd like to know if Fujin is in or not but they won't answer that...

So I have this question.

Will they consider having DLC/Downloadable Fatalities? That would be an awesome idea I think.

I WILL EAT THIS GAME
I have my own theories/speculations about everything, but I know most of it would be pointless to ask or impossible to answer, so I have only one question...

...will I ever see Ashrah again?

That's all I want to know. Deconfirm her if you have to, but the uncertainty is driving me crazy. Of all the 3D MK characters, she was one of the only ones with a relevant part to play in the story/a unique backstory that could be tied to any part of the major tale, so...I still hold out hope, but I'm pretty sure I'm the only person I know who gives a shit if she comes back or not, so if the truth is grim, you can tell me, I can handle it.

One key thing from this podcast:

No Reiko (but he does mention he could possibly be added as DLC).

So, those who thought Reiko was an unlockable character by completing Story Mode on Hard were misinformed.
