are there any unblocking frames?

is there a buffer window for inputs during block animation? or is it like MK9 where if your input is too early the move just doesn't come out
Build changes as the game goes, but it felt like the buffer was there but it wasn't much. You had to input and let go of block as it was coming out or just after for some moves

Does anyone know the "alternate controls" situation? I am not a fan of the b/f turning into half-circles, and command grabs being quarter back, half forward circles. I think it adds a bit too much for moves that are usually supposed to be quick like mace charge, straight tiara, everything grundy does, bane, shazam, cyborg and harley command grabs. I hope no one is getting b/f and d/b/f special by accident. Why can't those stay as is? I do really love having the diagonals in the quarter circle stuff, really helped with Deathstroke not getting accidental up machine gun and low gunshots.

So, I saw that MKX will be featured at the GameStop Expo in Anaheim, CA on September 9th-10th. Any thoughts? It kind of the only event before Tokyo Game Show.
Would like to know as well. I live right next to Anaheim. Curious to what average wait time and lines are based off of last year.
But damn, destiny launches that day....

Thanks! So is the kick automatic or are there are options besides MB'ing for the tackle? Is the tackle an overhead or an unblockable throw?
No clue, I haven't played. Was hoping someone who played would chime in. @Casselman , @Doombawkz ?

Total speculation from the vids; the kick is automatic on hit. The tackle is almost definitely blockable (how broke would free command grab on blocked air ball be?), but if Kano does some obnoxious bounce off recovery on block like he always does, you may not even have the option to do either on block. Also a big question mark as to what happens when it hits a juggled or jumping opponent, does the sweep whiff? Does the tackle? Cause it would be weird for the air ball to have grounding properties, I think.

I'm curious to see if AA jabs will be back or easier or harder with the newer jump kicks, properties etc and game engine.

One thing I didn't like about MK 9 that I hope isn't in MK X are NJP that lead into 40 % damage combos. To me that was bs. I know konqrr felt the same way not sure about anyone else.

Most NJP combos didn't do that much damage, but I'm fine with the way they were in MK9 due to how powerful cross ups were. If I read a cross up/jump and I NJP it, I deserve to be rewarded. Though maybe they should have had more recovery time on whiff so that I pay for making the wrong read.

You're right not 40% was a bit much, I should have said 30% more accurate(unless you count resets) but standard combos good estimate, my main beef with it was full combo on that. I personally am more pro cross ups I admit, I love jip combo mix ups I won't lie. I think they still want cross ups(which have existed in pretty much every MK with a jump, well 2D's at least) then they would have kept the game more grounded like say MK DA and Deception. Kind of felt like I was fighting in mud with those games, you know? Those games didn't get much of a positive reception in regard to movement.

I'd actually be ok with that if they made it equally punishable frames or at least around the same, if you time it right want to stuff out a cross up attempt on a NJP ok. But if they whiff make it punishable this way once he hits the ground you're vulnerable or something.

Speculation is pretty close, but remember I didn't play Kano so much as against him. I don't know the properties, but it seemed to be pretty much as you said.

Bounce off is significantly more punishable now that dash is in the game though, I landed a rather moderate speed move with torr, and he is pretty slow. Trust me when I say the old bounce engine is much more vulnerable now that you can cover so much dostance

Teleport is universal, however displacer seems to have more uses for it. So to say, all forms can teleport but only displacer uses it as a main asset.

Like ice clone and cryomancer

n/m then

i'll just wait .....
Honestly, there were so many people that the only things I can confirm for that build is what I saw when I was playing my games.

That being said, sub zero'a defensive stance is maddening. You can't wake-up with certain moves, and you have to be careful on oki too.

yeah i think everyone seems to have a pretty good set of tools to work with this go around.

I think Ferra/Torr is one of the more unique typings in the game...... basically getting some sweet benefits from having that little bitch on you....
Like you said, you were countering Kano's Parry with basic command grabs.

gah... jealous that you got to play it. I'm going to assume that the walking speed is MUCH more fast paced.

Walking, yeah, but dashing is where it's at. Torr isn't walking anywhere.

The cutter variation is my favorite so far, the damage trade off is retarded and salt generating

i guessing you probably didn't think to risk / test it given time constraints, but can you kill yourself with the cut or is it just game the fuck on at low health?

I actually accidentally did it once. Yes, you can cut yourself to death if you aren't careful. However, if it's between rounds you carry over the damage buff since it's time based (or seems to be)

Lol... It does about 12.5% and trades up double. I thought it was about 10-20 so I cut and died. People laughed. Then I started next round with a 54% combo and the laughter stopped

If someone doesn't name the F/T video thread "they laughed at my cuts, I laughed at their funerals" we've failed as a community.
