That was such horseshit. I legit flipped out when I found out they made Amanda Waller skinny.

Catwoman I'm pretty meh on cause sex has always been one of her things and as long as that isn't her only deal like a one track pony then I really don't see the problem.
It'd be a lie to say Storm and Phonix don't play up the sexy but gangerous bit but I think part of the reason they Marvel get's less flack is they still show some restraint a lot of the times barring some exceptions like Emma Frost.
What's wrong with Psylocke?
Psylocke is often a go-to gal as evidence for over-sexualizing women in comics, that's why I used her. I guess it has to do with her Cammy-esque unitard that shows some cheeks. I don't think she's so bad personally.
I guess you are right about Catwoman. It's true, she's a pretty well-established, deep character. It's just the comic strips I saw were a little over the top. Though, I suppose using google image search those are the most popular images to find. There weren't a whole lot, either. And with comic characters I guess it's hard to really tell if someone is intentionally sexualized. Is Spiderman sexualized? Batman? They wear pretty tight, revealing outfits. They are no worse than lots of females who might be quoted as sexualized, in my opinion. And then there's Nightwing.
I just think DC is going backwards where Marvel is going forwards. That's why I'm fine with Emma Frost/Psylocke/etc., because they also have females who are strong and don't have their bodies as their defining feature, like you said showing restraint. There's a new all-female X-men book coming out that's got some women writers/artists on the team who are looking to give girls role-models they can look up to. On the other hand, DC is making Harley Quinn wear less and less clothing, making a typically large woman have large hips and a tiny stomach, and closing every women's pants store in the DCU due to lack of business. I mean, who even wears pants anymore amirite..? Anyone...?
So to round up my feelings, I'll say that sexualized females (and males) are a-ok in my book, as long as that's not the
only type of females (and males!) that we get. And you're right about characters with depth. Hell, all characters should have some depth to make them interesting. When the only thing that's interesting is their bodies,
that is the problem.
