What's new

Top players from other games you wish to see play this game.

Fuudo, VF yomi works pretty well for me in this game, would be great to see what a player that good could do in MK.

Something a bit out of the box

I'd love to see MC from Starcraft pick up the game

Partly because I'm curious, partly because a lot of the skills are transferable, reactions speed, muscle memory, resource management, etc. MC was a pro player who didn't always use the "best" strategies but would often try to pioneer something new every tournament and just give the fans a good show, but still managed to be arguably the best player of his race.

Always enjoyed watching his games, I'd love to see what him or a similar Korean player would do with MKX
Either that or someone like Flash. Because he would mostly go super hard in practice and place low in tournaments for six months/a year. Then after he'd hit his mark and just crush heavy for god knows how long. (Pretty much his SC2 story)

Or Stephano, he'd pick something super cheap and troll the ever loving hell out of everyone. I'm on board, can we fund this?

A SF4 and UMK3 player from Mexico called "Pajaromayor", even some of the other good UMK3 players like Shaney and DC Hustle.

Also, the obvious Daigo, Xian, Poongko, Infiltration, etc

I'd love to see more classic mk players like Ded, btbb, jester305, germatria, nwo, foozer, dvdscn, xiongbros, dciguy, mikecaldwell, r1ryda, marvirasta, elmejor, random select, and cuko.

about infiltration - in one of the streams ultradavid said he talked with Infiltration about mkx, infil actually likes the game but the gore puts him off.

NRS, Guilty Gear, and KI, the holy trinity
I only follow the nether realm tournament scene so i cant say :/ the only 2 tournament players that arent from the nrs community that i know are the obvious ones like daigo and justin wong

I would like to see.... more undiscovered people play this game. Let some of the unknowns get some of the majority of the attention and that way, the game won't be viewed as "boring" or "predictable" (Example: SonicFox winning tournaments like nobody's business).
Sometimes a key reason as to why the same people will repeatedly win tournaments is because the tournament community isn't that diverse. With more diversity, you find more style and techniques you haven't seen before -- of which can throw off anyone who hasn't seen the stuff before.

I think this is an interesting concept to people who follow multiple games and their communities really. I guess my first choice would be Kazunoko. For those of you who do not know him, Kazunoko is a anime and Street Fighter player. He is infamous for basically not giving a fuck. He would YOLO more often than not and is quite successful with that style.

Another very strong player is Knee. He is a very very good Tekken player from Korea. If you have ever heard of competitive Tekken then you must have heard about him. Knee has one of the best fundamentals of any player of any game that i have ever seen.

I also have Xian as a very strong honorable mention because he is exactly what you would call a Student of the game. Anyone who ever doubted this guy should watch his Capcom pro tour matches against Luffy. The footsies and whiff punishment on his part is off the chart. The way he beat Luff by whiff punishing the crap out of that slide was amazing.

There is also Snake eyez. Again another player with amazing footsies, reaction and patience. The patience on this guy always amazes me.
I'm aware of some of the players you mentioned, but it's actually not that hard to have great success on ONE genre and on only one or two games once you get to that really high level. Of course it takes a lot of time and patience to get up to that level, but once you're there, it's like operating on cruise control.

Jumping genres is far more interesting, and many people may be surprised at the level of competition they'd find in other genres. I'd be more interested in seeing people jump over into other genres like third person shooters, etc.

Any top VF or DoA player.
Well, SonicFox fits that bill. Maybe try to get him to get his brother, Mr. Kwiggle, to play MKX.

I don't know a ton of SF players' names, but Daigo would be great. Gootecks does a lot of media, so getting him on MKX would be huge. Come to think of it, PewDiePie would be serious promo.

Daigo would probably do horribly. His main strength has always been solid footsie play. Momochi has already gone on record on how nerfing vortex in Ultra SFIV has made helped make Daigo more of a thread.
