Throw Tech OS

Idk

I look like Bobby Hill and I have the reactions to tech every single throw on MKX. The only thing that keeps people like Scar and Sonic from teching every throw, is that forward and back require different inputs to tech. If it's one input, a window as large as MKX is ridiculous imo.
Lol why did you start off saying you look like Bobby Hill? Haha

Because fat people have slower reactions, right?

And I can react to throws on MKX.
Yeah one of my notable traits in MKX was throw teching, but if there like 5-7 other options to look out for you have more chance of being hit as it's harder to be ready for
The tech window in MKX itself is 15 frames

I1 had easy reaction windows too even easier I'd say

What would you prefer

An OS throw tech option Or the ability to react?

Are you sure it's 15 frames? Or is it 15 frames + the 10 frame start up of throws?

The ability to react > an OS for sure, but i'd prefer neither. You shouldn't be able to react consistently to a little mix up imo.

15 not counting the 10 start up

So usually to tech a throw you have to not pressing any action buttons

Yeah, this needs to be removed ASAP. Being able to tap a normal and throw in tandem with their string inputs to automatically guard against their offense is kinda dumb.

It was stupid in SFIV and it will be stupid here as well.
but it exposed scrubs who mashed... good players preyed on this and it widened the skill gap

I agree it's gotta be removed but let's not compare this to the ridiculousness that was sf4 option selects. I remember using the momochi tech to single handedly beat people that didn't know what was going on.

But yeah. Bad for the game so it's gotta go.

Imo

If the window is as big as MKX, but without a 50/50 based on directions, by year 2-3 of the game, you won't even see throws at a high level. Guys like Iluusions and foreverking will have to be played like the throw button does not exist from day 1.

The window to tech is just hilariously large and idk why most don't agree. A small mix up like that should not be so shitty. It's not like jumping where the reward for landing a jump in is incredible.

I swear I can be blocking, remove my finger from the block button after the throw animation has started, and still tech it.

On MKX.
I mean you can't be attwcking and tech a throw at least on paper

If you are ti
Personally I don't use the OS, I just tech throws normally.

interesting the window feels much tighter than MKX.

You're obviously anticipating it somewhat like when opponent is plus or do a dash?

I remember practicing I could not tech for shit but in MKX I could consistently

It widens a different type of skill gap. I prefer intuition over execution so I'd say it does it in a bad way.
taking execution out of fighting games is a huge mistake. while I understand the logic from a business perspective, I don't like that you don't have to spend hours in the lab to get something. execution also widens skill gap which is a good thing. again, player perspective not WB share holder perspective

I love execution. I love seeing people hit 1 frame links. I could watch sakonoko in the lab all day. Trust me I respect it. I don't respect getting two guesses in Rock Paper Scissors vs my 1 guess just because you hit a simple OS. decision making is the most important thing(to me) in fighting games. Obviously you have to execute and follow through but watering down the risks with option selects on offense or defense makes for a far more boring game to play and to watch imo.

All too easy...
Throw teching in injustice is as easy as it gets, you just press throw once on reaction. Coming from MKX where you have to let go of the block button and then guess while also pressing a different button than just throw Injustice teching is as easy and intuitive as throw teching in fighting games gets.

Take out the OS and make people play the damn game

Yeah it was cool when people got frametrapped for doing throw OSes but these same OSes developed into ones that took away skil because they threw+teched+were hidden behind good buttons. No one really liked them not even top players man. I'm cool with throw OSes but not in Two Button to throw games because it leads to all kinds of silly OSes later on down the line.

The tech window is large as is. There's not much of a point to letting it stay. It just weakens throws even further.

Also, watch the OS turn into d2~throw button or tech OS to safe special.
