The Official Boston/New England Thread

Portland. I go to the New Hampshire monthlies at Jetpack Comics in Rochester fairly regularly, and Arcadia here in Portland hosts a small I2 tournament every month here in Portland. Otherwise I just play online a bunch.

I didn't know these were venues we had in New England. Jetpack Comics is only 90 minutes from me and Arcadia is only 2 hours, so it's realistic for Dolfy and I to come up for a monthly. When are the next monthlies?

The NH group hasn't scheduled their next meetup, but I'll link their last meetup page for reference to how it usually goes. NRS support is generally limited to just me and one other guy though, so that's a long ways to come for not much competition. It would be fun and very interesting to have some new people to play locally though! And if they knew people were traveling from out of town they'd make sure we're all accommodated for sure.

Ah, if I'm reading the Arcadia calendar right, Injustice 2 is on Tuesday? That's not really makeable for me cause it's such a long drive. I can try for the next Jetpack though if I'm free on whatever date they end up deciding on for it. It's fine if there's not enough people to run a tournament, I like to go to these things just to meet people and grind out casuals.

Correct, the Arcadia event is a Tuesday, which cuts a lot of people out :( I'll keep an eye out for the next NH event and throw it up in here when they have it scheduled, maybe get a grand pilgrimage of New England NRS out to Jetpack.

You should add the Sunday Showdown in Rhode Island to the list. It's every Sunday sign-ups at 6:30 games after 7. It's at the X1 Elite Gaming Center: 725 Branch Ave. PROVIDENCE, RI 02904. And it's streamed at twitch.tv/x1_elite

Yes we will play ANYTHING we even played Friday The 13 so if you want to play other fun games casually for a bit come down too.

There is a boss set up for shooters too

Just a reminder to anybody in the Portland, Maine area that Arcadia is having their monthly Injustice 2 tournament this coming Tuesday at 8. We run casual sets as well as a small (free) tournament bracket. Having it during the week is rough, but if you're in the area and want some local play, check it out.

Trip report from the X1 Elite Gaming Center: venue is good. Only about an hour drive for me from Natick. The venue has a big parking lot, and it's within walking distance to a lot of places for food (there's a McDonalds, a Subway, and one other place I don't remember what it was). The venue itself has a lot of setups, is air conditioned, clean etc. They also have Friday the 13th on a VR setup if you're into that. Prices were $10 for venue and $5 per tournament which is pretty standard. Only complaint I have is the tournament itself could have been better run, there seemed to be confusion about who was supposed to be running brackets and I had to bug the staff a few times to get them to call a match. Overall I like X1 and will be back the next time I'm free on a Sunday (which unfortunately is not til August 26th, I've got a lot of stuff going on this month).

e: forgot to mention, free wifi, and it's good wifi. I was watching viennality on it

Congrats Champ,

Glad you enjoyed yourself! Next time I'll do a better job managing the staff to run the tournaments.

Also hope more people come through next Sunday!

I'm in Bath, NH, lol. Don't blink if your headed North or you'll miss it. This thread keeps popping up more and more. I'd like to make it out to one of these events sometime. Thanks for posting.
