Guys/gals....what are we going to do when everyone breaks down Mileena? F3 has been put out of contention against certain players altogether lol.
RIGHT?! My main training partners can react to F3 offline pretty much no matter what. Honestly though, I think her meta improves once people break down the MU. Until then, people are just going to block and hope she hangs herself. Really, it's probably easier to defend against her this way regardless. Respect everything until she realizes you respect everything. But she might be dead by then, depending on the player lol

She has good stager pressure with her 123 and f12b4 strings. EX fade in my opinion is a great pressure tool. She has a pretty damn good neutral game in piercing. She can compete if people know the matchup l, you just need play a bit more solid.

I'm having players from TYM poke me out of F3 online for like 20 something percent damage lol. I'm finding myself relying on throws more than ever.

What is guaranteed after 123 besides a poke? +2 isn't a lot. Which variation are you speaking of?

Nothing is guaranteed but staggering 1, 12 and 123 is decent as they are all +2, so can go for a throw, B1 becomes 9f, if ballsy Roll is 6f
Standing 1 can be neutral ducked and poked out of. This is what I'm referring to. When I play long sets with players they pick up on this and it completely changes my game plan.

The anticipation is killing me

Indeed it can be, hence you have to make so many reads in order to win. You really have to get into the opponent's head first, or have a liquid gameplan so where something doesn't work or you notice a pattern you immediately change up.

this is something i experience quite often when i play long sets against my friends. you gotta change your patterns frequently. for example, one of my partners online is pretty much able to react to mileena's staggers. he always has his finger ready to mash d1 or d2 depending on what stagger i use. this is where it gets interesting. i read his poke, i mash out an ex roll and punish his poke. then the next time he thinks twice about poking my ass. mileena has tools to force respect. just gotta use them sparingly and not be predictable with them.

In piercing I have found a lot of success walling back to bait pokes and whiff punishing with b12. It's especially usful in piercing because a max range b12 gives you a lot if distance between you and your opponent to make things whiff

I'm addicted to f3 right now. I've been playing against JC and Kano a lot recently so I see d4 a ton. Best way to say f their d4? 37% meter less kombo lol

What is so good about Piercings B12? I see people here talking about it and basically saying that this makes Piercing her best variation but I don't get what is so good about it. Is it really plus? cause I usually get poked out of anything after it. Can someone indicate me the proper way to use this tool?

It's +2, but you still need to keep in mind your spacing and the fact that a lot of Mileena's normals don't start up super fast while some other characters may still have 6 or 7 frame pokes available to them.

It's only +2 on block, but repeating it means you essentially have a 9f mid (that can be low profiled). The string ultimately forces action from the opponent and that's what makes it good. It's a very universal tool: Good range, can be special canceled, works to anti-air, etc. It's best used as a stagger.

Basically, people can only get out by armoring or poking and you just make a read. To force additional respect, you can do things such as roll or teleport kick after. You can do b1 throw after they're conditioned to expect the whole string etc. or b21 after you think they may have fallen asleep and forgot to block low as they try to figure out when to escape b12.

It's a stress stagger. Mileena basically gets to build meter and chip away while the opponent figures out how to get their turn back, but she could potentially be baiting at any point.

I don't think it's that great, but I understand the utility. It's the best we've got so I'll gladly take it.

It's also significantly better in some matchups than others. Let's take Erron Black for example who has slow buttons. B12 into b12 is even more potent on him because he doesn't have great pokes or fast buttons. It slows him down even more and tempts him to commit to some unsafe options

Soo similarly to Kano's b1 in Cybernetic?

So in this stream of the beta, someone said Mileena now has a 6f D1 ... which one of you guys have a code to confirm or deny that?

its only plus 2 so you don't get any frame traps off it but your at advantage to make a read. if you think there going to hit a button b1 will normally beat. if they try to low profile b1 you can walk back to make it whiff. its also decent for stagers and a fantastic anti air (I was able to consistently anti air subs j1 with b1 at frosty).

it doesn't look like d3 is -1 on block anymore which kind of sucks but being 8 frames is a great trade off in my opinion.

Do any of you have tips for executing instant air sais? I'd say that is my biggest problem with Mileena. I feel like you have to be good at it with Ethereal and I'm very inconsistent with it. Any tips?

I just Input the bf1 immediately after I jump. Theres no real trick to it. If you have input shortcuts on it should be a little easier
