The Ghostface patch it's a turning point at MK1

And MKX had them as well. People seem to forget that MKX released promoting an online pro series with near-unplayable netcode, characters that were quite literally broken, and a meta that was one of the worst we've seen.

Remember the Raiden semi-infinite, or Denzell almost winning a major by keeping someone stuck in a corner with Fisticuffs just swinging over and over?

The revisionist history is is crazy.

No one is making excuses for MK1's launch problems. But for someone who joined TYM in 2023 to say that we didn't have criticisms of the state of MKX is crazy. Some of us just criticize constructively rather than dev bashing and trying to tear the competitive scene down while doing it.
Oh trust me mkx had bigger problems yes, only reason i mentioned mkx was, well because you did to somhow show that you are indeed critical of nrs and are not in mega defense mode for any misshap. It was not needed to talk further about mkx or its problems other then to comment on your criticism of it.

"But for someone who joined TYM in 2023 to say that we didn't have criticisms of the state of MKX is crazy"

Excuse me but pls point to where exactly i stated this? Where did i say that nobody criticised mkx or that there was nothing to criticis in that game?

I classified your criticsm example of what it actually is, in relation to what is being talked about in terms of mk1 issues and said why it still doesnt enable you to now say you called it.

There is no revisionist history, i didnt missrepresent anything about mkx or compared it to mk1 i only commented of your example of criticism and why it doesnt help your case in terms of predicting anything in mk1.

As for tearing the competative scene down, well thats a bit of a blanket statment to be honest, some people do it for sure but in general its not really connected. Like how does me or anyone else being vocal about for example a fatality costing 12 dollars tear the comp scene down? How does me saying at launch characters severly lack utility on their own tear the comp scene down? Etc.

While i dont agree with name bashing devs, i think people being honest and sometimes harsh is better then being an endless excuse machine.

Revisionist history is saying someone didn't criticize a game outside of the neutral when they were critical of a bunch of different parts of it. When you weren't even here to know.

I don't even know why you're harping on this point when you weren't around for it, and say you can't read the links.

People like crimson were "calling" it for the entire of mk11 lifespan and we all know how that turned out, no mjaor overhaul and the game abandoned.
This is absolutely revisionist history. I did not predict a major overhaul after Aftermath. I predicted that they'd unlock custom variations, and I said multiple times that this will never be a game for everyone. Some will like it, some won't, but you can't expect them to change every single mechanic to suit your personal tastes. There's hour after hour of me and REO making this exact point on our podcast.

That wasn't a statement about you, it was a statement about me. I was explaining that I'll support the competitive scene even for a game I don't particularly like, because that's how you grow a scene. Games come and go, but the scene is what you have left after a game is gone.
